I like your mindset of 1 day at a time. Its easy for things to become overwhelming if you focus more on the whole process rather than the individual steps. Chemo fog... I can relate to that in a way. Sounds like fibro fog. Its like you know what you want to say and can see it in your mind but there's a huge cloud that floats by and blocks your view of the info youre trying to access for a while. Its so frustrating at times.
Yes, I spent two full minutes trying to think of the word "routine" and finally gave up and went and asked my daughter who immediately knew the word I had in mind. So long as there is at least one functioning brain in the house we will be okay. : )
I can relate to this. I just finished my 6th and final chemo treatment for Stage II Ovarian cancer, and I was not interested in ringing a bell. When I'm cleared after 5 years THEN I'll ring a bell! Lol
Good job getting through chemo! 💪💪 I wonder when my 5-year countdown timer begins? From when chemo finished, radiation finished or in 15 months when my hormone therapy finishes? I think you are ahead of me.
Thank you for letting us know how you are doing, even if it is not one of your better days. I told you some time ago my husband had prostate cancer and his doctor recommended cyber-knife. He has been doing extremely well since he went through it. Please don't rush into an operation if you don't have to and your number stays low. I like that you say you may see another doctor. I think that is wise. May God bless you and take care of you. I definitely hope you are with us for many, many more years!!
Thanks so much! I have seen ads for CyberKnife here in Austin. It is funny- when I search on Google for one type of prostate cancer treatment the first results are often ads for the other types of treatment! I definitely have more research and discussing to do. And I will look more into CyberKnife too.
I am sorry to hear your wife will be going through chemo but I hope the results she gets will make it all worthwhile. Thanks for letting me know I could be of even a little help. Wishing you both all the best.
Thank you for saying it out loud...I finished my last treatment..dont like bing in the unknown. I leave it in Gods hands and try not to freak out....we are the warriors🙏❤️
Big congrats on finishing your treatment!! Fear of the unknown is one of the biggest fears. I think this is the part where positive thinking really helps you get through the day. And for me- working on improving my diet and strengthening my immune system has me feeling like I am making a positive contribution to keeping the cancer away. 💪💪
@@parristx Thank you 🙏... Healthy diet and exercise are huge. If you like , check out breathing techniques and healthy cell meditation. I found them on TH-cam. its a good way to start the day. I applaud you for making your body a temple. Cancer Free Forever 💪🏼
Thanks Parris for sharing and being so open about it all. You are being very helpful to a lot of people, and inspirational. Often it is the case that fear of the unknown is even worse than the cause of fear itself, so taking about it and sharing experiences is a huge punch to the actual fear. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thanks James! There was certainly plenty of fear at the start- but it didn't seem productive to keep with that approach. I am in week 4 of Proton Beam radiation therapy up in Dallas now. Almost halfway through!
Thank you so much for sharing all your journey, I know this isn't easy at all. I'm sure your experience is helping a lot of people who are going through similar experiences. I'm confident you'll soon make the right choice for you. Like always, I'm sending all my love! ♥
Thanks Selene! I hope my videos can demystify some of this for someone going through the same thing. But it is still pretty mystifying even for me! : )
Big fan of your channel, and you as a person! Odd question: what brand are your polo shirts? Every one you've worn has looked terrific! Keep kicking ass and looking forward to videos from you for years to come
That's so nice- thank you! The shirt in this video is from Land's End. I have quite a few Walter Hagen golf shirts. I have one Hreski shirt (with the bubbles) and plan to get some more.
Someday you will ring your own bell, when you feel ready, when you really feel like you've hit a milestone that is valuable to you! For now, I wish you rest and peace!
Another superb and helpful video; Thank you. If/when convenient, will you please provide details about the book that you mention at 5:57 (which addresses the diet choices that perhaps arrest the growth of cancerous cells)?
Sure thing! The first book that shows the evidence of how different diets in the world influence cancer rates is The China Study by T. Colin Campbell. Then Stop Feeding Your Cancer follows a doctor who tries out what he has learned in The China Study with his cancer patients. And Beat Cancer by Jane Plant and Mustafa Djamgoz discusses more of how cancer works- treatments for it- and how diet can slow or pause its progression.
Heads up Parris your making the right choices just wish you didn't have too , 1 word extra support i know you might not feel great but its important to keep eating i don't care if your nibbling on crackers and cheese . Much love to you and the family
Thanks so much! I eat different foods the week after each infusion but I do keep eating. Now that I have had my last infusion I will be curious to see if my tastes go back to how they were pre-chemo.
That is certainly a long time on chemo. Your doctor should be able to advise you about those changes to your voice. Searching online I did find this article about chemo treatments and people who use their voice professionally- www.nats.org/_Library/JOS_On_Point/JOS-076-05-2020-559.pdf

I still work part time but our health insurance is through her work. So far the insurance has been fairly agreeable about paying for my treatment even though it isn't the standard surgery followed by radiation.
Yes, immune system...Dr Lorraine Day cured her own cancer thru lifestyle and diet. She basically beefed up her immune system by not killing off the enzymes in ur food and drinking carrot juice....among other thing. She is very smart and very too the point. I believe she has dvds - at least give her info a look.... good luck and God bless you Parris
I will take a look- thank you. One developing treatment I have heard about is a chemo/immunotherapy combo. They give you the chemo which kills a number of the cancer cells and the bits and pieces of those destroyed cells float around in your body till they are passed out. While those cancer bits and pieces are still in your system they administer the immunotherapy which kicks your immune system into overdrive and focuses it on the cancer cell pieces- which then lets your immune system target the cancer cells in the tumor. Sounds good in theory, anyway!
Finishing your chemos it's a great step. I hope you feel better soon and find other good options. I love your videos!!
Thank you! And I've got lots of option considering to do.

I'm on 2. Terrible sickness😢
We love you, Parris!!!

I just finished my 6th treatment too.
Next is radiation then immunotherapy. I can so relate to getting through the side effects. It ain't easy.
Congrats on getting through the chemo! Hope the radiation doesn't wear you out too much. Hang in there. 💪💪
Cool video tech talk lol yes ok yep oh parris
Thanks!
Your welcome
I am in my 3rd year of chemo. My suprano has voice never recovered. Will it return?

Hai Parris, how are you doing in terms of finance? Is your wife the sole bread winner now?

Are y’all without power??
We had a 24-hour outage but have been managing pretty well. Thanks for checking!
