      Thank you! It is good that they have more treatment options now but my oncologist said prostate cancer is years behind in the options that they have for breast cancer. When prostate cancer was more a disease of old men it wasn't as crucial to look beyond 10 years. But with more younger men getting this diagnosis we need to catch up with the treatments.

      What are you talking about???
      Staying home?
      How are you going to pay for chemo unless YOU work full time to get health insurance from your job..?
      How could any other family member stay home?
      It costs a fortune to have these types of therapies..
      How can you even buy food unless you work full time?

    Hi, on my second cycle of chemo. Using ice booties and mitts from day one. Some of what you speak of here is the same experience I have had so far. I have been blessed that I have not had much nausea. Once the steroid wears off on day 3 I am hit with a lot of fatigue and some pain as the tumor tries to fight back. My mental attitude is vibrating positive about 90% of the time so to me that is a big factor to murder these tumors. Hope you had a good result!

    • @parristx
      @parristx  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! Sounds like you are on the right track. After six rounds of chemo over 18 weeks they had trouble even seeing any cancer in the follow-up MRI. But they still wanted me to have 40 weeks of radiation- which I did last summer. I am still on Lupron for one more year and then we will see what all the numbers show! If you are interested- I put my several "chemo vlog" videos together in one longer video here- th-cam.com/video/_0HG-Us0Wrg/w-d-xo.html Wishing you all the best!

He has taken to wearing gloves a lot but it really affects a lot of things in his life- and I am sure it does for you too. My worst side effects have been from the radiation. But 90% of life is showing up- so I keep showing up.

    "The prayer of faith will heal the sick' "
    My grandson Joseph Jacob aged ten years old was diagnosed with 4th stage cancer and was advised six months of chemo.
    With prayers we started chemotherapy inJune 2024.
    July God gave us this verse before the blood test.
    But if the Spirit of him that raised up JESUS from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
    The result of the blood test was perfect.
    PRAISE the LORD.
    After three weeks before the scan God gave this verse.
    "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers,he made a show of them openly triumphing over them in it.
    The sca
    n report was" cancer free "
    PRAISE the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY FATHER in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST.
    He is enjoying his normal food and prayer meetings and gatherings,
    God hears and answers our prayers.
    He is Wonderful,He sends His word and heals us.

    My doctor is recommending chemo so your post is very very useful to me. With regard to constipation, which i had bad about a month ago, I found that taking 2 "Vitafusion" Vitamin D3 pills from vitafusion reliably return a BM in about 2 hours. These vitamins are "gummy" ones in the form of small fruits of different colors. They chew up nicely however, and as i said, a BM is reliably available about 2 hours later. I've tried several other commercial products at the local drugstore and none of them work as well as these vitafusion gummy vitamins. Besides the Vitamin D3, i've also tried the same company''s one with magnesium. It also has the same effect on my, i.e. a BM. This bottle also had some remarks on it about being good for "digestive health".

    I hope the best for you. I’m not sure what I’m going to do, having just been diagnosed with what looks to be liver cancer. I don’t really have a caregiver. It doesn’t sound as if the chemotherapy will let one function on his or her own. I would imagine they may not even let you leave, after getting a chemotherapy treatment. That is, unless you have a ride and not an Uber. I even looked into state assisted suicide as sort of a last resort but my state doesn’t qualify.

    • @parristx
      @parristx  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry to hear about the issues you might have getting treatment. I did my chemo the first year of Covid and nobody was allowed to accompany me inside the Oncology Center. I didn't want to ask a family member to wait for hours in the car so I just drove myself there and back. Depending on your exact chemo that may be an option. If you need a caregiver to go with you there are companies that offer that service. I arranged that for my father when he needed a doctor's visit by cabulance and I wasn't able to go with him. Here is a company that offers that in Seattle- www.daysurgerycompanionservice.com/
      Please don't let the logistics of it prevent you from getting treatment for your cancer.

    • @3putt548
      @3putt548 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@parristx Thanks for your well wishes. Having to go through the Covid period with your treatment sounds horrible. You managed though which is the most important. After my consult, it was determined that no chemo yet but radiation ablation. Guess it’s somewhat similar to Angioplasty. They have a probe that goes up through the groin. It goes to the liver and zaps the lesion or tumor. Fortunately there is only one lesion now. That’s it for the procedure. I’ll have MRI’s done every 3 months to see how things progress. This will be for probably 18 months. However if other lesions develop, it most likely will be full chemo. If everything works out to plan, I might get another 4-5 yrs. I’ll take whatever I can get. Realistically, if I can get 3 years with no suffering I’m fine. That will put me at 75 yrs old. I wish you well and appreciate your advice and information. Good Luck!

It looks like it has been a year since your treatment, how are you doing? I want you to know that I have adopted a couple of your recommendations, one being the ice mittens and slippers, the other is fasting prior to the Docetaxel infusion. What a help! That is an interesting observation. I think he speaks a lot faster than me because as a younger kid in the family he had to work harder to get a chance to say his piece and he had to say it quickly before someone else started talking.
