I know that he has no clue what he's in for, so I thought at least I should learn about what he is. "in for", that way at least I could be there to comfort him and help out in getting him prepared. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your candid explanations and the sharing of your personal experience. I appreciate you sharing your experiences and outlining some of the research you did before you selected the best course of treatments you optioned for your treatments. In addition, in addition for any type of cancer treatments, not just for prostate, i think its important to find out what are the statiscal results for each proposed optional treatment before selecting one. And by the way, at least as far as prostate cancers are concerned, i think it is highly unlikely that junk food would negatively impact the occurrence of developing prostate cancer, for your prostate only has to seriosly go to work a few times a month to produce semen. Junk food however more directly could have impact on those organs that work every second, such as your cardiovascular system, your liver, your kidneys, your lungs, and your brain. These organs are in a high state of cosuming energy, and therefore could be more eadily negatively impacted by bad junk food nutrients.
You know, about seven or so years ago I did a You Tube search for a review of the Tornado can opener. That video was the first time I saw you, and I was was immediately addicted to your product reviews Although we've never met face to face, we have corresponded, and I consider you to be a good friend and I hope the feeling is mutual. Hang in there Parris. I'm 46 years old and got a colonoscopy 2 months ago just as a caution, and I only had 1 polyp cut out and thank god wasn't cancerous. Will get another colonoscopy in a couple years.
Thanks! It is great you got that done. I have heard they now recommend starting colonoscopies at 45, rather than 50. Sadly the illnesses of old age are becoming the illnesses of middle age. And glad you had good results! 👍👍
@@parristx yep...my doctor said more people around 45, and not 50, are getting it nowadays and after that actor, Chadwick Boseman, died from cancer so young, they changed the recommended age to get checked. Please keep us up to date.
Great, good for you, and this is exactly what people have to do, do homework first and study the possibilities and ways to fight back in this case prostate cancer, I have 3 nodules all of them Gleason 6, right now I doing a surveillance but soon I have to take a decision what to do, thanks for your information, good luck everyone!!!
Enjoyed your talk I am in my sixth month or adt . PSA peaked at 230, Gleason 8 with perineural invasion also. I'm having a rough time with my mental health. I really do not wish to live. Many of my acquaintances are outraged that I would think this way. I cannot change how I feel.

But longer term it is really a decision you have to make about your outlook on life. I think having a positive outlook makes it easier for me and the people around me who have to put up with me. Lord knows I can be difficult enough on a good day!

Thanks! And I don't think there is much difference in the number of radiation treatments whether you have the prostate removed surgically first or not. When I was talking with the doctors at the cancer center in Houston they said after surgery I would likely need 40 sessions of radiation over 8 weeks. Without having my prostate removed I am having 44 sessions of radiation over 9 weeks.

My PSA wasn’t even close to yours it was 5 but been rising for a few months my mri came back pirad 4 2 lesions both 4 . So I’m still concerned it’s the waiting for ever for results then next step and then results it’s getting old
Thanks! Good luck with your biopsy and hope you get good results. It is frustrating the amount of time from when some test result first starts you worrying about cancer to when they can give you a definite diagnosis and start doing some actual treatment.

So the Proton Therapy didn't work I guess? I will look for more updates, cause I see you are also on Lupron. I had the IMRT for 5.3 weeks (Oct 2023) Still on Lupron Depot since August 23'.
I would say it worked in knocking my PSA down to undetectable. Did it work "long term"? Only time will tell. I just finished my third (and final) year on Lupron and am currently receiving no treatment- just going in every 3 months for blood work and watching the numbers.
That's always a relevant topic! 😁 And in consideration of side effects and quality of life after treatment I definitely factored that in. It was part of my decision to not have surgery- though my first instinct after the diagnosis was "Cut it out!" Even so, sexual function gets put into a bit of a "holding pattern" being on Lupron (which knocks my testosterone down to "castrate" level). But the expectation is that when testosterone returns after treatment (three years long in my case ☹☹) the takeoffs and landings will resume as well. Though doctors strongly recommend touch-and-go runway practice in the meantime to maintain your instrument rating. 😳🤣

Sounded they battled for the money paid for surgeries?
Each specialist thinks their treatment is the best. But I didn't get too much pushback when I changed my mind about the surgery.
