I'm having my second chemo treatment today and all my hair already fell out from the first treatment. I cried so hard but I know living is the most important thing. I didn't mean to be so vain. I wonder if it is traumatic for others to lose their hair too. Anyway, thank you for all the tips you share. I have five more treatments to go including today and then I'll have surgery, radiation and a year of chemo meds. I have invasive metastatic triple positive grade 2 ductal carcinoma. I pray for healing for all of us who are fighting cancer battles !!!! And I pray for continued healing for you !!!! 🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪
Hi Trish! Absolutely it is hard to lose your hair. It’s not vain. It’s an outward vulnerability for cancer fighters. Try a wig or hair wrap but don’t feel bad about feeling bad. Yes, losing your hair means your chemo is working but it’s okay to be unhappy about losing your hair. I hope it grows back wonderfully someday!
Hi Trish, I have triple positive grade 2 ductal carcinoma too. I found out two weeks ago and have a similar treatment plan as you. I’m waiting to get my chemo start date. In the meantime watching all of Marinas videos to prepare. Sorry you had a hard go of things with losing your hair, I’ll be praying for you too ❤
I unexpectedly cried when my hair started falling out a week after my first infusion. I thought I was prepared because I’d had a major haircut a few months before my diagnosis, but a lot of it had grown back. I thought awhile and realized maybe I cried because of the way it fell out, out of my control and clumps in the shower over just a few days! I looked a mess, with bald spots all over my head. After considering whether I would go for a proper haircut or buy clippers, I looked around my bathroom and found a very nice women’s body razor I had never used. I cut the clumps still on my head with scissors, then shaved my head with the razor. My head is very smooth and symmetrical, so I felt good about that! I’m a hat person anyway, so I found some nice thin caps, suitable for sleeping and hot summer wear, at Walmart online, but there are endless options with other online merchants. I hope you and others find some comfort in how you handle your hair loss because it’s a big, painful deal for many of us and we have more than enough to worry about. Thank you Marina, for inspiring me to write and maybe help someone else on this journey. You are invaluable!
Bonus tip: Try to take notes of your side effects every day starting from day 1 of first cycle. It's sort of journaling which in itself brings clarity and focus and it helps you avoid some mistakes and do more of things that worked, on your next cycles. Then after the first, scariest cycle it is more like "Okay I have this feeling now, as I should as it's day 3, this will be easier tomorrow." etc.
My husband is having chemo he has terminal lung cancer Your such a beautiful woman let’s all encourage eachother who are fighting cancer … ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 😢
I started chemo today and I woke up at 4:30 in a panic. So many unknowns and i literally made myself sick because of how stressed I was. I found your video and I have to thank you❤️ you calmed me down and provide great information. Thank you and you’re all in my prayers🙏❤️🙏
Have trust and belief in your doctors treating. Ask questions, there is no such thing as a dumb question. Have support from your friends and family. Try to live in the moment. Think about your senses, smell flowers. Always remember you are braver and stronger than you think you are. I'm praying for you. You've got this, you will get through it.@@MarinaBlackford
Hey I am a fighter too... just got my first chemo session.... fatigue is the only thing that is bothering me. Rest all is well by God's grace... Your are an inspiration... Stay blessed.
I had my first chemo last Tuesday and I felt so good on day 1. I went to the gym afterwards, took a melatonin, and went to sleep. Then, I was taken all the way out from day 2 through 4 (I just slept--ate dino nuggets and smiley fries and that was my meal for that day!). Am getting on the elliptical now (woohoo) so feeling much much better (day 9). Waiting on my hair to come out.
Not everybody loses their hair....hopefully I wont lose mine. I had colon cancer....all was taken out. My chemo is precautionary....waiting to start next week 🙏🙏. Keeping positive

Thank you for everyone sharing their journey. Cancer can be so scary, my grandma just got diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. If anyone has any advise or stories about this type of cancer I’ll appreciate it. I feel like we don’t know anything about it and I want to be the best help I can for her. Thank you, praying for everyone who’s commented, may God helps everyone ❤️
I lost my hair, eyebrows and lashes twice. The hardest for me was the lashes, as i can wear hats and brow pencil. Makeup wasn't cutting it. I felt that i looked so sick, but after treatments, all started coming back.
Thank you for sharing! It’s amazing how hard it is to lose lashes. Plus, my eyes were so dry. I’m happy to hear yours have returned! I swear by my lash serum, which is helped me grow them.
Bless your heart, for the videos! You are a courageous women. I am battling Adenocarcinoma. I find that resting for a few days on chemo day and a few days after give me more energy and makes for better days. Also the walking outdoors and workouts make me stronger. Our bodies are made in the perfect image of God’s mercy, they are capable of fighting off this disease alongside a faith filled life, treatments, plant based diets and exercise. Thank you for dedicating you life for encouraging us 🙏🏻☺️ to stay strong.
I’ll have 24 (low dose) chemo infusions beginning in 4 days. Not the year I expected but it is what it is, and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences.
I’m 32 no kids with stage 3 breast cancer and it’s not in my family. I was diagnosed on Valentine’s Day. I’m on my 3rd chemo treatment tomorrow. Mine are every Monday. I shaved my head a week ago after my first session and my sister shaved hers with me. 😭 I didn’t wanna cry seeing my hair fall out. I do have wigs I’ve had them for years and I’m able to wear them. I have hats and scarfs as well I use. My friends and family send me care packages which is nice too. I’m always sleepy some days I’m up by night time I’m out. Sometimes I feel weak and what not too. I’ve been on a diet since I started chemo. and I have been eating a lot lately. I’ve had nausea once or twice and my knees hurt my first week. I already knew I was gonna be 6 months sober, no sugar or fried and greasy foods. I have my second chemo in July which is the strongest one. Yall aren’t alone and will beat it!! Prayers to others going through this as well. Stay strong ladies. 🙏🏼❤️
@@EsaiSaggnilDid you preserve your eggs? I’m 39 no kids and I just started chemo on the 3rd of October. I opted for the injection every 3 months to protect my ovaries.
Great video. Wow.. This is my first time watching this video and she is right. I did the same things she is suggesting by the grace of God. I am going on my 11th treatment of chemo out of 12. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in February of this year. I Had tumor/ part of my colon removed and 26 lymph nodes removed because the tumor pushed through my stomach wall. 6 out of the 26 lymph nodes was cancerous. Unfortunately shortly after my diagnoses a friend of mines was going through a very similar thing. However she was experiencing more negative side effects. I started my chemo a month before her and had done some research. Long story short... to late 😊. I did everything this video said(with out knowing because I never saw it until now) and my symptoms from chemo was the same as my friends but more tolerable. So she started implementing some of the things I was doing and her side effects began to improve. I increased my fruit(especially fruit) vegetables, and protein. Cut way back on red meat and processed meat( to basically none at all but I'm getting there). Also cut back alcohol like she said. It's a toxicant and dehydrates you. I also drank certain teas, added lemon water to my diet, Gatorade and made sure I had healthy gut foods like Greek yogurt resistance starch etc. Our health begins in our stomach. Do things that strengthen your Immune system. I hope my comment and this video will help others. God Bless. Fighters keep fighting. ❤
@@palisamuyunda8781 I have 2 more infusions and then I meet with my breast doctor and the plastic surgeon. I feel good just ready for this part to be over.
May I ask what cancer do you diagnosed with. I am diagnosed three days ago ( right before Christmas) it call ductal carcinoma in situ. In my left breast wish you the best
The thing is with chemotherapy; there are so many. My first regime on carbo taxil and radiotherapy I was constantly fatigued. The steroids they put me on made me feel like I was in a different time zone. Not sleeping at night. Now I am on folfox and also taking ondasatine which is helping with sleeping at night. There is a lot of research now which says if you do exercise it helps combat fatigue. Go for a brisk walk. Shadow box. Do step ups. Remembering that everyone is different and to combat fatigue you have to find what works for you.
Hi! Yes, everyone is different and so are the chemotherapies. This list can generally help a lot of people. Fatigue is real! Movement can definitely help. Thank you for commenting!
I am on treatment 2 and I have never felt so tired in my life! I was so active my entire life and now I struggle to eat. Everything takes so much energy!
I am with you, I have also always been so energized and active, and the guilt that comes with having constant fatigue is palpable. My wise young niece said,”Think of it this way - this is what you have to do now to get well and have a full life after you’re cured. So, while it’s annoying, it’s the best way you can help yourself.” I try to exercise as I can on the days that aren’t so bad and just go with what I need on the rough days. If you have children, it’s harder I’m sure - I’m 75, so no close obligations. Chin up, hang in, do what you can for now and rejoice in the rewards of the future. You got this! 💕
Great tips and you look fabulous! 💕😊My oncologist told me not to take my steroid after 6pm so it wouldn’t keep me up at night and it definitely worked. I’m a firm believer in listening to your body when you need to rest, but get up and stay on the move when you are feeling well. You’ll rest better that night also. 🥰
The steroids are just too much for me - make me feel so much worst. My oncologist said, “Don’t take them. We don’t want to make you any more miserable.” It has helped not to take them and to just use the Zarxio shots, which I give myself.
GOD is so pleased with you for being a inspiration to all. I took very good notes & researched your findings & you are on point with your facts. Also, peaches are phenomenal for killing cancer cells. Keeping you in my prayers, you got this & most of all GOD got this.
Your amazing thank you for all your support and continued healing coming your way. thank for your compassion kindness and sharing your journey I start my treatment this week 4 big ones every two weeks a break . 1 once a week for 12 weeks, Then surgery Breast Cancer estrogen, positive. 🙏🏻🥰💕
i had my first chemo and immunotherapy 3 days ago. i took somethings that you suggested with me. ginger tea. frozen mango. seabands. banana. some bread and cheese. so much food 😋 i ate some and drank much. i was very well day 1 and 2 went for loner walks and slept fine. day 3 which is today i feel some bone pain. not much yet. i am just writing here to add my experience for those who will start the first. also i think pickline or putting indicator in the lump are not as bad as I thought. i only felt the niddle a bit. thanks for all your work ❤❤❤❤
My boss’s mother lived for nearly 5 years after she was diagnosed with the same. She threw herself into every possible clinical trial and new development she could be a part of, and it definitely bought her extra time. She had fire energy, but also a very robust, loving, supportive family. Do what you can to let your grandma know that you are there for her and will help her anyway you can, so she doesn’t feel that she’s a burden and she can maybe try some riskier, medically-driven protocols that might just really help her and all of you.
I started chemo for breast cancer in June. I am 75 years old, no history in my family, I’m the first. It’s triple negative, so challenging, and fatigue is by far my worst side effect. I can take the nausea and the sore mouth, but I hate being so useless. How you as a young woman with young children do this I cannot know. You are amazing, you’re beautiful, you are so strong and centered for one so young - you’ve got this and you’re going to make it! You are an inspiration and I wish you and your family the very, very best! 🙄
Praying for you. 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼You give me strength. I am having my second dose of chemo this Wednesday for stage 3c ovarian cancer. The first week kicked my a** and I wish I found your videos before. Now I watch them every chance I get. You are amazing. Prayers for your Mom too.♥️🙏🏼♥️
I have gone through my first chemo last Thursday and second day was good..third day I felt like not having energy in my body..three days was like deadly..after that two days weakness.. second chemo in next month..hope I will cope with it.. five more
@@LifeWithMyfurBabies you will find that you will slowly come back to a”normal” life just before your next treatment. You can do this. You’re not alone and these videos are a wealth of information. The best there is. I’ve watched some others, not as good. These will give you goals. Blessings to you. Keep fighting.
FAST day before, day of, day after. Frozen mitts and booties during infusion. I’ve done two rounds so far with zero GI distress, and I mean ZERO. Some fatigue on day 13/14/15. That’s it. Carboplatin and Paclitaxol. Plenty of food after the fast. Plenty of exercise throughout.
Starting my 1st treatment w/carbo-taxol after Easter. Thanks for the encouraging feedback. I’m planning to do the same, as I’ve heard other good results with same. Anything to take down the GI & neuropathy side effects I’m willing to do. Good luck with your treatment. 😊
thank you for your awesome tips Marina! sending you positive vibes. I'm going through chemo myself for follicular lymphoma and learned from other people what also really helps with energy is eating mostly raw plant based. I find Korean ginseng tablets to help on my really low energy days and of course allowing myself to rest and sleep as much as I need and exercise when I'm feeling good, though I don't have children so that's easier to do! I've learned that dairy is linked to breast cancer, and processed meat is classified as a 2A carcinogen by the WHO. The doctors say follicular lymphoma is incurable (by conventional medicine but I've read some people have been cured, they just don't know how), and I am at risk for breast cancer as well so I decided to cut all animal products. There are many people who had stage 4 cancer who went completely whole food plant based and survived cancer now for many years when the conventional treatments were ineffective. I find plant based easier, cheaper, and more colourful and delicious! I also cut out alcohol before seeing your video. it's not so hard when I drink a variety of yummy teas. Also there are some good alcohol free beers and sparkling wines I have in moderation. I've cut out sugars including honey and maple syrup which feed cancer cells and give them energy. Not sure if you've heard of Anita Moorjani, but she had a spontaneous remission from lymphoma. She's a best selling author and also has a youtube channel. she is soooo inspiring, as are you :)
I was just diagnosed with breast cancer on 10/10/23 and I’m so pissed off! I haven’t had chemo yet, waiting for insurance to approve chemo. Did I mention that I’m PISSED that this is happening?!😭😡😡🔥 I’m an emotional wreck and angry as hell! I’m glad your channel showed up because I need to know how to handle chemo when I start. Thank you!❤️

God bless. Stay on top of skin rash..keep your foot on gas in terns of prevention. Better to be on the proactive side. Finished chemo round 6 this week for stage 2 lymphoma. Warrior I salute you in combat. Stay healthy
My sister will start chemo next week and. So worried about her she will have her hair back. She will lose all her hair for sure. She is in stage four she have a lymphatic lymphoma the Hodgkin something like this please pray for her. I’m feeling so depressed about her. She is in stage four and she have a very nice hair and she’s crying. She don’t wanna lose her hair, thank you for doing this for us. May God bless you and I hope all of you will be survivors from cancer. May God bless all
Been trying recently to get back on the road and do my morning run. I’m able to run about one twentieth of what I used to do a few years ago. Only have three more infusions to complete and hope to recover some of my former ability. Aside from that I’m sleeping most of the day and my daily chores are being put off. Exasperating. Since my diagnosis, I too have given up alcohol, BTW.
Just had my second chemo yesterday and i have so much fatigue that i can't even get out of my bed....will try and follow your advice and hoping that it's going to help me
God Bless you Marina and everything you have done to help others battling cancer! Your a Mother, a wife and was faced with difficulty 2x's and still you Persevere ❤️🙏🏾 You show why women are the most Beautiful and Powerful entity on the planet!!! Pray you never have to endure this ever again!! In the Name of Jesus
So it looks like I am already doing some of the things mentioned so I'm proud of myself. Food has been tough because of all the taste changes so at this point, I just eat what I can slightly enjoy but not focused on bad eating either. I honestly need to do better with getting back into taking walks but this heat has been relentless! Next week will be my 5th round of 6. This 4th one was the worst of it as far as the fatigue is concerned so I'm trying to be positive and focus on the fact that it hasn't really been bad until this one. I really hope that biopsy shows nothing is wrong. Thank you for your videos!
You’re right. It can be hard to eat well during treatment. Do your best! Fatigue does get worse. Make sure they are checking your labs/bloodwork for low iron or wbc or neutrophils. I hope you get through your last one okay!
Always learn from you and so I thank you. One round down, three to go. I like the tip about going for a walk post-infusion. I’ll try that next time. Prayers for your biopsy to come back all clear. 🙏 Blessings!
I'm on my 4th chemo this tues., please talk bone pain, it starts on the 3rd day and last about 4-5 days it's the worst, nobody see.s to talk about it,I wish I was told that about it, it was so bad the Dr. Had to give me some pain meds, please let everyone know it could happen to them,I pray nobody goes through this.
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that. Is it from the chemo or an injection you’re getting like Nulasta? Are you taking Claritin to help with the bone pain? Absolutely you should tell your medical team so they can help you with this. Thank you for sharing! Keep healing.
Was your bone pain in your back..I’ve done my first round this week and on my 5th day after was horrible..I did know about the claritin but was told only take it if I get bone pain..:I’m praying for everyone going through this 🙏🏽❤️
I've had 13 chemo sessions for stage 4b colorectal, pancreatic, liver and lung cancer. The first 10 or so sessions weren't bad. Now, my worst symptoms are unbearable shoulder and neck pain.
Thank you so much for the video on six things to do to help with the chemo fatigue. I go for my second chemotherapy for lung cancer on June 29 this coming week. I will keep in mind all the things you suggested. Thank you so much prayers to you and me.❤
This depends on the type of chemo you’re receiving, and all of us take it differently. I think chemo fatigue lasted for a good 4-5 days. Then I would start to feel better. Then I’d be back at chemo. That was when I did chemo weekly.
Sugar is known to feed cancer. Everything we put in our mouths néeds to be examined. Especially drinks we consume. Felt much much much better when gave up ALL sugar in my diet. Carbs turn into sugar so found out KETO diet helps a lot if you're up to living a different life. Not saying it's a cure all but certainly is the best way to deal with this disease.
This is so helpful ! Have got breast cancer just had first infusion, mine is Her2 positive have spend literally hours reading on what to eat and Avoid, if you have Her2 you have to Avoid some foods that are Recommended for breast can ,as you mention Nut ,cant have Almonds or peanut or peanut butters ,The best is walnuts just Advise people to Research first
Good to know. Walnuts are great! They have omega 3’s. I’ll do some research on that. I do always try to buy organic nuts especially peanuts to avoid any pesticides.
@@MarinaBlackford Absolutely, it's so Daunting read so many Recommendations, that aren't always the best ,Did you no about taking virgin coconut oil whilst on chemotherapy apprenly it helps so kill cancer cells ? Thanks for your videos been such a help !
Hello , thanks for your videos very helpful. I am estrogen and progesterone + . I was diagnosed last year October with invasive ductal carcinoma and lobular . My initial treatment was to have chemo before surgery. I was skeptical about chemo and the oncotype test done only gave me 19% benefit so oncologist said not recommended. However, I did all the bone organ test , biopsies before surgery in May. During surgery I had 29 positive lymph nodes removed and chemo ACT treatment and radiation was recommended. I am now on my 3 rd infusion of 4 recommended AC and T I have to do every week x12. My experience hadn’t been too bad just low counts last 2weeks which was supposed to be my 3rd infusion. You have been a great help sharing your experience. My arm needs a lot of work to get it back to normal. I feel tightness , numbness In my Chest area and a bit swelling I guess seroma under lower arm surgery site also which is said to be normal. I’m hoping to return to work when starting taxol I’m hoping that it could be done. Thank you for your positive outlook on life despite our short comings. My hope , faith , family -husband and children along with positivity gives me strength to fight my battles. You are an inspiration. Blessings to you and your beautiful family.
Hi! I pray that swelling goes down and you keep healing. Taxol is easier than AC but still fatiguing. It will be worth it to be all healed in the end. Keep praying and asking for help as needed. Blessings to you!
I’m on chemo because of lupus. It takes me 4 days to recover from it. I just stay in bed and don’t do anything. I hate it. Thanks for your tips because I do not eat anything and drink very little liquids after it and I love water. I can not be like this again after treatment I need to work and carry on with my life. Chemo messes me up for a good week.
I fasted 36 hrs before and after chemo, had no nausea, no mouth sores, no nerve tingling, no hair loss, but still some fatigue. Seems to be the one unavoidable side effect 😴💤
Wow! That is great to hear. I don’t have personal experience with this. People have recommended fasting. Certainly good for others to try to see if it works for them. Thank you for sharing!
Great video, just started chemo , it suck. Everything you said is so true. Thank you for your service. Wow you really bend through a lot 2 portal n two treatments 😢..keep up the good work.
Hi. Watching your video makes me feel inspired and gives me knowledge how to prepare myself for chemo..By the way i' m also diagnos breast cancer and done mastectomy .God bless
I too have not been drinking alcohol, it made sense to me and honestly it didn’t taste good. I also went in for hydration drips three times the days following chemo and it helped. I drink 70-80 plus ounces a day but it isn’t enough. Ask your oncologist to put an order in for it.
Thank you for your video, I'm soon going to go through my second treatment for lymphoma and during my first treatment I did a few of the things you have suggested especially the alcohol, this time around I'm not sure how I'm going to feel because I'll be doing chemo in pill form instead of drip but I will take your advice and do more walking last time I just stayed home but did workouts with my free weights while my energy came back in between treatments, again thank you and I hope your videos reach out to more people 👍
I see! I’m sorry you have a second round! Movement can help you sleep and with bowel movement; both effected my chemo. I’m sure you know. I hope you do well.
God bless, thanks for sharing this. I am starting chemo in a few weeks for Large B Cell Lymphoma. Never did chemo, so hearing these thoughts and suggestions helps. Thanks
I started having some serious fatigue yesterday--2 days after beginning the 2nd course of a 2nd year of maintenance for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. Nausea and vomiting aren't as common with intravesical chemotherapy, but other gastrointestinal issues such as IBS with abdominal pain and headache are my challenge. Despite being so tired, and even though my legs ached and felt like lead, I got out of the house to run errands. I appreciate your helpful suggestions for dealing with this inevitable side effect of chemo. Best wishes for your continued healing!
Hi! I’m sorry for your symptoms. Chemo can be very hard. I hope your medical team can support you. Maybe seeking a naturopath can help your gut.? Quality of life is important during treatment too. Take care of yourself. ❤️
Shirley again, your right about alcohol, I only have a glass of wine when we go out to dinner and maybe on 2 at the most. I don't even have wine in my house.
Hi! Yes they are. Alcohol is related to most cancers. I know avoiding or minimizing it can help get through chemo but also reduce cancer risk. That’s worth considering!
I am so thankful to you. Because of immunotherapy having lot of pain bones of legs ...and cant eat anything without going to the loo...now taking anti spasmodics ...helping to keep the food in ...sny tips on beating the pain of immunotherapy?
I have my 3rd out of 6 cycles of TCHP yesterday, I am feeling so far so good today, getting ready for the chemo and Neulasta to kick in in a couple days, I have learned from my two rounds and noticed that drinking a lot of water is helping with all side effects. Eat any food that you can take it in, Listen to your body when you need to rest go for rest nap if you need to naps. Active as much as you can, get up and do things when you can. Seem like Day 4 is the hump day for me then all the symptoms are decreasing, best of luck to all of you guys who have been through this journey ❤️🩹😇🤞
Working with a holistic doctor for my breast cancer treatment, most of the foods she named I wasn't allowed to eat (except the berry family; I was allowed low glycemic fruits and vegetables). Most of what she named actually feed cancer! Doctor's don't take nutrition while in medical school and don't know the healing properties of food. Been cancer free almost five years with no side effects of conventional treatment or long-term side effects from conventional treatment.
Hi! Thank you for bringing this up. That’s a great point. Some fruit are too sugary like apples for people or the body. I do love berries. Berries have lots of antioxidants which are great for the body. I’ll update a video on good cancer fighting foods soon.
Thanks for the positive video with tips to care during chemo. My husband completed 12 weeks initial chemo and after 7-8 months a special test shows split DNA cancer cells floating in the blood stream so he is asked to take chemo forever...and make sure that special test shows 0.00 to keep cancer tumor developing in other area of the body. Your tips are very useful and it gives boost to act on what we know what to do. Sometimes we know but fail on actually acting on it. Thanks so much and wish you good health. Just curious what was the result of your skin biopsy?
Hello i started my chemo last week and i was doing good the first 3 days, and strangle with fatigue,no appetite, smell everything for 3 days after that started getting my energy back .i am diagnosed with gastric cancer .you video is very helpful and thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing. Would you have a during chemo, pre surgical, yoga or exercise program that you would recommend or that you did that kept you fit? Thanks in advance
Great question. My exercise really depended on how I felt. I walked almost daily, did yoga weekly, and a run or weights 1-2x a week. I use workout apps that are 15-30 minutes workouts. I like Nike Training Club and Down Dog apps.
Greetings. Prayers for you and your journey. Thank you so much for sharing and your transparency. I too have always been a very healthy person and could always eat what i wanted without gaining more than a few ounces. The surprise of my breast cancer diagnosis was overwhelming. Although my diet overall was always great, i had in my recent past, been indulging a bit more in eating red meat as well as some pastas. I have stopped the red, white and pink meat since not long before my diagnosis. I hope you dont mind if i ask you a few questions? I will be starting chemo in 3 days and will be doing cold capping in hopes of not losing all of my hair. Have you done this? Do you have any advice on this? Also, and my main question is, after each chemo session how long did you wait before you spent time with others (friends, family, strangers) in public? Did you wear a mask whenever you’d go out to a bar, party or work? What was your first few days of eating like? Ie: what did you eat/did it make you feel ill/what foods did you stay away from, etc? Thank you in advance and congratulations on your second win!
Hi! Thank you for being here. I know my videos can help. I did not cold cap. I know someone that did and it worked well for her. As long as you can do the process, it’s possible to save a good amount of hair. I did not tend to gather in groups for at least two days after chemo. I generally did not wear a mask. But if that makes you feel more comfortable, you should do it. Also, they will check your labs each week with chemo and if you’re white blood cells and neutrophils are low, you should probably wear a mask. I really enjoyed smoothies, soups, and Mediterranean food with the base of rice and vegetables. I’d say eat what tastes good. Your taste will change as chemo goes on. So sometimes I would get sick of eating a certain food. Much love to you on your journey.
I’m a fighter too, having my #9 week next week, I begin on April, my goal is 14 weeks of chemo, all u say about fatigue is true, and all those hacks works amazing on me!!! Thanks for sharing ❤
Have 3 cancers. Two came back after full hysterectomy. Clear cell, endometrial and serous. Possible lung. Haven't done chemo yet. Waiting to see if the hospital charity finance will pay my meds. If not I'm not doing chemo. Keydruda costs 2,200 each session Over 11,000.00. For 5 sessions
Thanks for these videos. My husband was just diagnosed with AML and seeing someone surviving twice and looking and sounding so healthy was a huge boost to my faith in his winning this war.. I couldn’t find any mention of the anti-nausea bracelets you mention in your description. Can you please provide info?
Hi! Yes, I’ve heard good things about that tea. Soursop graviola tea. No personal experience but it’s been known to help support the body from inflammation.
Water fasting is the key to reducing chemo side effects. It blows my mind that people still arent recommending this much.. it literally protects healthy cells and stresses cancer cells. And if you cant to do pure water fasting (which is easier than you'd think), the fasting mimicking diet works fairly well too
Hi! There is more research on this. I appreciate you mentioning it. I did not do it. But I think it’s definitely worth trying for some people. Thank you!

Prayers for you, my 2nd one is this week
Good luck and best withes to you all ❤😘😘😘
Bonus tip: Try to take notes of your side effects every day starting from day 1 of first cycle.
Yes, good advice. Thank you!
My husband is having chemo he has terminal lung cancer Your such a beautiful woman let’s all encourage eachother who are fighting cancer … ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 😢
I’m so sorry to hear that about your husband. Thank you for the sweet comment. 🙏🏼❤️
I started chemo today and I woke up at 4:30 in a panic. So many unknowns and i literally made myself sick because of how stressed I was. I found your video and I have to thank you❤️ you calmed me down and provide great information. Thank you and you’re all in my prayers🙏❤️🙏
Starting chemo is stressful. So many unknowns. I’m happy your found me!
Thanks a million dear God Bless
Hey I am a fighter too... just got my first chemo session.... fatigue is the only thing that is bothering me. Rest all is well by God's grace... Your are an inspiration... Stay blessed.
Blessings to you!
Cheers to US and Happy New Year 🎉🎊🎇to you and your family in advance...
I had mine too but still fatigue
Do u have the problem of racing heart after 5 days of chemo mine is so weird and keep me in the bed all the time
Yes I had my first chemo last Monday my heart was racing too it will go
Thank you for you. I start treatment tomorrow. I’m prepared to conquer and do this. Praying for you all. Shalom.
You’re welcome. ❤️
How are you? ❤️
Ride the wave of chemo! Meaning when you feel good, eat and workout. Rest then get up again. 🙏🏼❤️
Do not eat process meats and foods
@@ShajJan-r4u Thanks for your answer.
Not everybody loses their hair....hopefully I wont lose mine. I had colon cancer....all was taken out. My chemo is precautionary....waiting to start next week 🙏🙏. Keeping positive
My mom will be undergoing 14 rounds of chemo, you have no idea how much I love watching your videos and educating myself.
Wow, thank you! You will be a great help for her!
I want to connect to you...I lost my father to cancer.....my father had 17 Chemos.....I think did he die because of chemotherapy effects....
fatigue, sleepy, and major weakness AFTER a long time can be a real issue for some too.
Absolutely. Make small changes to help you each day.
Thank you for your tips! I’m starting my chemo in 3 days. Stay strong!💪

I’m so glad she has you to help her! 🙏🏼❤️
I love this! Thank you for sharing! I agree. Wonderful tips. ❤️
I’ll have 24 (low dose) chemo infusions beginning in 4 days. Not the year I expected but it is what it is, and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Thank you for watching! I know these tips can help you. 🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing your story! 🙏🏼❤️
Thanks for sharing your story it gives me strength
Hi! Just wanted to ask. Did you preserve ur eggs? Or opted for an injection to keep it?
I have a similar story. 29, no kids, stage three breast cancer and no family history. Diagnosed in July after two months and a second opinion.

Yes! But you must eat when you can to get energy. Drink lots of water. Try smoothies and soup or whatever you can. Daily walks. Keep going. ❤️
Yes! Great advice!
The steroids are just too much for me - make me feel so much worst. My oncologist said, “Don’t take them. We don’t want to make you any more miserable.” It has helped not to take them and to just use the Zarxio shots, which I give myself.
I'm a new subscriber. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 BC and I'm so glad I found your channel. Thanks for being transparent.

Hi Marina and everyone here, thank you Marina for your videos, all your tips and your positive energy. It helps me a lot❤❤❤
You are so welcome! ❤️
Hi! Triple negative is challenging. And fatigue is real! I pray you find some energy and feel well. 🙏🏼

Thank you for sharing! Hope it continues to go well! 🙏🏼
Thank you for the tip. How many hours of fasting do you do in those 3 days?

Do u drink just water? Cold or warm any lemon ?
thank you for your awesome tips Marina! sending you positive vibes.
Yes, plant based is proven to reduce cancer risk. I’m for it! I make swaps in my diet where I can. I love the information. Thank you!

@@MarinaBlackford the crazy thing is my labs are always good! Sigh....I an almost done. I'm just focusing on that.

Thank you so much for the video on six things to do to help with the chemo fatigue. I go for my second chemotherapy for lung cancer on June 29 this coming week. I will keep in mind all the things you suggested. Thank you so much prayers to you and me.❤
One chemo last for how many days of fatigue my dear
This depends on the type of chemo you’re receiving, and all of us take it differently. I think chemo fatigue lasted for a good 4-5 days. Then I would start to feel better. Then I’d be back at chemo. That was when I did chemo weekly.
You got this 🙏🏽, good test results coming your way!!
Amen!
Great insight!

I’m sorry. Treatment is hard. I encourage you to get some good nutrients in you. And love yourself through all of this. Thank you for the comment.

I too have not been drinking alcohol, it made sense to me and honestly it didn’t taste good. I also went in for hydration drips three times the days following chemo and it helped. I drink 70-80 plus ounces a day but it isn’t enough. Ask your oncologist to put an order in for it.
Great tip! Thank you!

Thank you for this 😁
You’re welcome!
(Alcohol and breast cancer are linked. )
Thank you so much for the videos. You are an amazing person.
Hi! Yes they are. Alcohol is related to most cancers. I know avoiding or minimizing it can help get through chemo but also reduce cancer risk. That’s worth considering!
Thankyou for sharing your journey marina your positive vibes are good lots of prayers for you god bless you
Thank you so much!
Thoughts, prayers and positive vibes 🤩
I am so thankful to you. Because of immunotherapy having lot of pain bones of legs ...and cant eat anything without going to the loo...now taking anti spasmodics ...helping to keep the food in ...sny tips on beating the pain of immunotherapy?
Hi! I’m thankful you’re here! I don’t have immunotherapy experience. If you find something that helps your bone pain, please share here.
Thank you for sharing! This can help someone! ❤️
I cried when my hair came out also on my first chemo
That is hard. Crying is a good way to let out those emotions.
Sending you good vibes and love. Thanks for sharing your advice. I do many of these, they help.
Hi Marina I saw your video pop up just know. You look amazing and so healthy. Luv ya girl.
Thank you! ❤️
🙏🏼❤😊 Positive vibes! You are amazing!
Thank you! ❤️🙏🏼
Hi! I’m glad he’s getting screened. My skin biopsy had no conclusion. Likely a stress induced histamine reaction. It is all clear now.
@@MarinaBlackford very happy for you.
Hello i started my chemo last week and i was doing good the first 3 days, and strangle with fatigue,no appetite, smell everything for 3 days after that started getting my energy back .i am diagnosed with gastric cancer .you video is very helpful and thank you so much.
Thank YOU for the tips….. I ended chemo at the end of June and still have fatigue.
You’re welcome! That is normal. An oncology nurse told me it can take a full year to get your energy back.
Oooops
Day 5 after first chemo - hydrate hydrate hydrate - ty for the reminder - I tend to forget. TY
Yes! Sometimes we are too tired to remember! You're welcome!
I had my hair shaved down to 1/4 inch Wednesday, today the little falls are going too. Wigs are hot and itchy. Fall hat season needs to come soon.
Do what works for you! ❤️
Itchy for sure. I wore one today and got over heated. So bald and a news boy hat it was. Scarves fall off my head. We do what we can
I’m a fighter too, having my #9 week next week, I begin on April, my goal is 14 weeks of chemo, all u say about fatigue is true, and all those hacks works amazing on me!!! Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you for sharing! Keep going and healing!
Have 3 cancers. Two came back after full hysterectomy. Clear cell, endometrial and serous. Possible lung. Haven't done chemo yet. Waiting to see if the hospital charity finance will pay my meds. If not I'm not doing chemo. Keydruda costs 2,200 each session
Over 11,000.00. For 5 sessions
There should be grant to help you. 🙏🏼
This is really helpful, God bless you for sharing all your experience🙏❤️
Thanks for these videos. My husband was just diagnosed with AML and seeing someone surviving twice and looking and sounding so healthy was a huge boost to my faith in his winning this war..
I couldn’t find any mention of the anti-nausea bracelets you mention in your description. Can you please provide info?

What can someone do when they have trouble keeping food down?
Oh so true about the "cleaning up the kitchen" I just did that literally twice today.. Day 3 chemo.
Aw yes! I forgot I said that but thankfully I’m not alone! You get me! ❤️ steroid=clean clean clean 🙃
Drinking soursop tea is it positive or negative?? Can you tell please!!
Hi! Yes, I’ve heard good things about that tea. Soursop graviola tea. No personal experience but it’s been known to help support the body from inflammation.
This is an outstanding. Thank you so much for all you do. May god bless you with health
Thank you!
Thank you!
Did you make a video explaining how and when to use these many products?
Hi Kimberly! What products are you having a question about?
Thank you for this whole channel it’s very helpful
You're very welcome!
