At 14:30 when you told us a out why the car is special it hit me. I have a B8 as well and i had the engine rebuilt at 360km (oil burning was out of hand). For me, this car drove my dad around to the hospital and back during his last days, it raced through downtown to get my wife who was in full labour to the hospital, and then brought my newborn home, it's been with me through thick and thin numerous other times as well. I totally get it. It feels like it's connected to you. It's not about the numbers at all, it's about the experience of working on what I would consider your old faithful friend
Hey I have a B8.5 A4, it started burning oil recently but I’ve been able to get it to slow down to a completely reasonable level with Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer. It’s at 195k kms rn, I was wondering based on your experience, how many kms you think it would last to before needing a rebuild? I plan to keep it and rebuild it the way you did but I’m also currently building the motor up so I just wanna know what to expect. Thanks in advanced for your reply and I hope the car is still a part of your family!
Loving this series, it's well thought out, lot's of good info as I have a A4 2 litre on the B8.5 platform and filming gives it a such a nice movie feel, kind like a underdog that becomes the big dog feel, looking forward to seeing more my A4 brother lol
B8 A4 owner here. Been with u every vid. Feels good to know I’m not the only one that wanted to have an a4 with more than ko4 numbers. Got me pumped to start modding.
Congratulations, dude!! Been enjoying following your journey and it inspired to build my A5. Huge props to WPT, 034, and CTS + others as well for supporting this platform 👏
Just got turned on to your channel, I'm currently looking at an a 4 and I'm loving what I'm seeing here. You've done really great, you have a great demeanor, your car is beautiful and I'm hoping to do the same with something similar. And I totally get the sentimental connection you have with the car and your family and your future, great job, I hope to see more!
You have really pushed the boundaries for this platform especially in the youtube space. Cant wait to get My b8 even close to this level, I totally get where you are coming from with the attatchment to the car, this was the first car I got and has been with me basically everywhere ive been for the last few years and I couldnt imagine getting rid of it no matter how much it likes to piss oil out of blow motors and dsg clutches. Gonna got a nice 300 from a K04 and try to leave it at that.
Great job! So happy to see you get well above the 400 mark. Really nice. You are the epidemy of determination and hard work paying off, and should be very proud. Thanks for sharing this journey and doing such a great job capturing it on video. Congratulations!
The build truly was beautiful see and can’t wait to see more. This is the channel that gave me the push to get my B8 fixed and now I’m looking to truly build this car after I get it back from the shop. 🙏🏾
So glad to see you getting these numbers from this platform. And looks it looks to now be a blast to drive. I've followed your journey for sometime, since I wasnt the only one with these issues. I have B8 A4 Avant that Ive owned for almost 5 years. 4 engines later and 3+ years of the car not being drivable, I swapped for a B8.5 engine that has been good so far(4k mi). Even got to finally run a 1300+ mi trip w/ the Avantoberfest family this month in upstate NY. Great feeling finally being able to enjoy the car.
Something about you're content man, its simply awesome. From the amazing car to the chill tone that still carries energy, I cant even put my finger on it but I'm loving it. plus mega bonus points purely because b8
hell yeah dude! dyno footage looked solid, no smoke from the backend! 422 and 401 is awesome for it being a 95 degree day! that could have easily been a 450 if it was in the 50s
I agree! That’s basically what my c5 corvette makes and I’m stock top end ported and polished stage 4 na cam and long tube headers. Basically a 70% maxed out set up on double the cubes and cylinders lmao. I wish I also owned 430hp a4
EPIC! Nice work! I live pretty close to you and have a fully modified B8.5 S4, and a friend with a 4.0T swapped B8 A4. Perhaps we can come up and do a video showcasing the versatility of this platform?
Well done sir! 👏 Like many others, I have been hooked since your first video. Thank you for sharing your journey and teaching me a lot about this platform. I went the APR K04 route for my B8.5 A4 (6MT), but much of what you did helped me in my build. I’ve picked Tyler’s brain enough over the past few months to know the man knows his stuff so am too going the WPT route in the next month or so. Can’t wait for your next upload!
Pretty sick man! My 2014 A4 burnt an exhaust valve and I'm still waiting to get it back from getting a new valve seat. 400hp A4 is a bunch of fun I bet!
As a fellow A4 B8 owner, this is VERY inspiring and up lifting!!! I'm super exciting for everything in the future and can't wait to see what you're gonna do!!!
Just watched the whole series in one sitting / badass car man - hope to see a cruise video or something in that nature 👌car like yours should be appreciated for what it is
Bro, I love the series. I also have a B8 that I daily and always look for information/videos of what others have done to theirs. Yours is definitely the only one thus far that’s documented and filmed what you went through for what to expect if I was to really tinker on mine. I’m the same in regards to wanting to be different from the norm, but it seem like you’ve spent a lot of time and money to get your car to where it is. I don’t have the sentimental value of my A4 like you have with yours and watching your videos helps me see what mine could be, but I don’t think I’ll be dumping too much time and effort to it as I do have other cars and future cars I’d rather commit to. Financially it just doesn’t work for me and with have 4 kids, it looks like you spent a lot of time working on yours that at my stage in life I just don’t have that much time to sacrifice. Keep up to good work and making cool videos.
I have a B9 A4 TFSI Quattro (UK spec) 🇬🇧 Love it to pieces it's my 19th car and I've had some serious pieces of kit over the years. I may start modifying it one day but I kinda just enjoy it as it is and drive it as much as I can.
Awesome man! Just a heads up - I'm pretty sure you'll need a custom tune for those injectors. The hpfp upgrade can run normally, but when I installed the injectors, Tyler had to send me a new file for them
Sick man! funny how much easier the second time on a dyno gets 😆. Those are fantastic numbers from the 2 liter. also props to the effort that goes into vlogging in this style. takes substantially more effort and patience, and skill to get production quality like you have. And I'm with you on 2022 being the year we relax a bit and just drive the cars for a little while 😅
034 the shiiiiiiiittt dude. Im running their Stage 2 tune and its a lot of fun. They also have straight E85 files for stage 1 and 2 that are really impressive. Im thinking they will continue this with their K04 file thanks to the fuel pump piston.
Absolutely love the build. Im in michigan doing a super similar build but running k04 right now other than that ies intercooler, intake manifold, tons of 034 mods. Stock block. Not sure my dyno numbers but pulling 5 second 0-60 as of now. Also looking to get tuned by Tyler once I get my piston installed
nice, I just got a MKII TT with same engine. Although I have a lot of work on the car before the engine, at least I know what I'm working up against. I just caught up on the engine build.
I'm excited for you lad. You must be getting excited yourself by now? 😘 .. so hold on, I've no big boss or the intake manifold.. but all the rest of the goodies. I've an IE 200 cell downpipe to go on. See before a tune, what's it worth to do the high pressure upgrade and what were the injectors? So the 034? And injectors?
You need to make a video of all you’re tunes and parts that you used in order to reach 400. I just got my a4 and I’m stumped cause I can’t find anything but you.
Beautiful vehicle! I have an 2012 A4 with the APR K04-64 turbo kit, APR intercooler, AWE exhaust, 3" downpipe and K&N cold air intake, APR stage 3 tune. Can I upgrade to the high pressure fuel piston and injectors without changing to the intake manifold?
