OMG.. talk about a big leveling up.. i have a lot of scenes and run a bunch of stuff in them. its just to much to put in every scene so i would have to sacrifice some at times.. and pray that viewers dont try to use them while im in that scene or mess up some type of notification or sound bit switching scenes .... man i am so happy i found your channel.. i love the way you explain things and how you act.. not like these i wanna be famous farts that just make the same vids everyone else has made cuz its easy just to get views built up... your always coming out with new and great things every time i turn around... thank you

I was wanting to use this for, like the YT like and subscribe, that pops up every so often. I maybe using the wrong tool. would be nice if it was on a timer to play every so often while im live. This plug-in is great and so are your videos. I tried using this last night with virtual camera and it wasn't outputting the assets to the stream. Showed fine on my end though. Just a heads up to anyone.

Here's a note, put your alerts in a nested scene, at put that nested scene in your normal scenes and that helps to keep your alerts going while transitioning between scenes.
That's what I've always done. But you still have to have that scene in every scene. I have now added that scene to the downstream keyer and can remove all of those extra scenes. A little less clutter. And if something terrible happens like a follow bot or spam or something you can easily turn them all off now on all places.

I use Elgato Stream Deck with OBS and I’ve had Downstream Keyer for several weeks. The Keyer sits as a Dock in OBS. It’s easy for me to click on each Keyer overlay I want with my mouse and then click it off. I wouldn’t want to take up Stream Deck buttons with those individual elements.
@@Koa-Raccoon Perhaps, I haven’t looked into it. I actively use my mouse during my stream and OBS is open on one of my two screens, so for me there is no advantage to putting the Keyer on the Stream Deck. There is a lot you can do with the Stream Deck, so devoting one button to a sub level for Downstream Keyer stuff might work for you. However, if you have OBS open and are using or could use a mouse during your stream, just using Keyer from the Dock in OBS is very quick and simple.
The FRUSTRATION! First time I saw this video and did it it was fine. Installed voicemeeter for a new mic. That COMPLETELY ruined my OBS adding a delay to recordings and preview. Tried everything ended up scrapping it for SONAR. Stil had a delay so I had to reinstall. Since I couldn’t tell what residual was affecting my delay I uninstalled all files and had to rebuild my scenes from scratch(I tried the long way but it didn’t work. Now on a fresh install of OBS rebuilding everything from scratch after installing DSK the dock of option doesn’t pop up in OBS. I’ve put it in the OBS root folder and uninstalled and reinstalled several times but it just won’t go. I’m so close to just giving up on content creation and live streaming because it’s just so stressful it’s always something new to combat. Sad panda today

The version you're using in this video is 0.2.3. The current version is 0.2.5, which apparently doesn't work in OBS 27. It was updated to work with 28 but won't work with 27. It doesn't show up in the dock list on 27, at least for me and I've uninstalled and reinstalled it numerous times! Based on your call to wait in a previous video is there a way to get the older version until 28 is considered usable? Or is 28 working better now?

Ok time to block your Channel... This is the 5th time you meantion this Plugin, the 5th time I get pulled to it from a diffrent video to get this plugin again! You know what? I have the Plugin, and have 0 use for it. This Plugin is not the ESSENTIAL Plugin you make it to be. It is a nice one, but way more niche then you think.
I hate OBS so bad, i've been watching all of your videos for years and I still can't make OBS work with reaper DAW. I think I forgot how to play guitar because of OBS.
So this is basically a better way of using alerts instead of nesting sources for it. Good stuff.

Is there StreamDeck integration for the downstream keyer? Or do we have to setup hotkeys and then trigger the hotkey from the streamdeck?

You could set a hotkey then have StreamDeck do that hotkey.

I have the Caffeine Version of OBS and this DownStream Keyer just doesn’t work for me. Is there another way for it to work with OBS 27.1.3
That is the version I used to film this. You just need an older version of the plugin.

If you are using 27 you have to grab an older version of the plug-in from GitHub.
