Another helpful thing is figuring out how much you know the person you're playing against. It's weird but I find that I get a FEEEL for how certain people move once I play them for a while. It's rare to see them change their playstyle. You all know who you are that are like this. Then there are those that adapt immediately and do some random shit, they have a certain feel to them too. I cant describe it but it's like you're connecting with your opponent outside of the game
th3SyLvEsTeR I might know what you mean but I mostly guess at the start of a match. I’ll think to myself “this person will run of BF ledge and pk fire” and then he does
I hope people start using this more in tournaments I started noticing it being used once or twice per tournament match immediately after gimr released the vid
Secun Secun yeah, there's counterplay to every action, but forcing the Yoshi to use a considerably worst option out of shield because you punished it a few times is probably a win in his book.
@@xyliahvortex661 it's a really old troll game, it looks like a completely normal game but if you lose you get jumpscared. and the screen crack right after that is in reference to the video of one guy playing it and punching his screen when that happens
I sometimes find players online, who start charging their smash attack at ledge, but just end up getting punished by being jumped at or attacked from ledge. And they just keep doing it, instead considering other options like trumping or faking one.
Great job! I really enjoy your videos and they have been quite helpful for me! Your channel has grown so much in the past year. Keep up the great work!
you should do a "who you should know" video, with the obvious Sakurai and Doug Bowser at the beginning, then getting into more popular pro players (MKLeo, Samsora, Tweek), then lesser known players as well as some good TH-camrs.
I cannot express enough how much your videos have helped me beat my friends in a 4 man free for all. The videos are really easy to understand (I'm not that smart) and easy to incorporate into my own gameplay, I just wanna say thank you so much, and happy holidays!!
This is actually perfect I was getting really frustrated fighting the top tiers (Peach Pikachu Snake) because their ledge trapping is so good. Thanks bannanaboy for actually making quality vids that help me improve. Btw I main Ganondorf any tips for the Pikachu matchup
@Jeeses99 G&W advantage state is a giant F you as he can juggle combo for free. Quick Attack is the only tool Pikachu has against G&W juggling, and that can be punished too.
Also try to avoid the Pika f-smash ledge trap, that beats neutral getup and attack easily and Pikas will use it frequently since it's low risk. If the Pika spaces f-smash properly, roll may actually lose too. I'd say mix-up your jumps so Pikachu won't always use it.
@Jeeses99 Well all the Pika needs to do is win neutral and edgeguard Ganon, which Pikachu does easily. Then again all Ganon needs to land a hit and kill with reads. But Pikachu has a lot of get out of jail tools and heavies get juggled by him badly. It could go either way.
I play DeDeDe and I pretty much always use his up gordo/down smash ledge trap. I use it pretty much every time and don’t often get punished, should I stop?
Step 1: Wait until the opponent gets antsy and spams down tilt or starts charging down Smash for some reason Step 2: Get up attack Seriously, this works 3/4 times online if they don't have a good below ledge move and most of the 1/4 they predictably go for drop off back air.
I know my biggest weakness but I have a hard time getting out of the habit. I always default to roll to get off ledge and most of the time I get punished.
*presses the c-stick at ledge*
BananaBoy: Sick read

I know what you mean. It’s basically knowing the other persons habits and play style
th3SyLvEsTeR I might know what you mean but I mostly guess at the start of a match. I’ll think to myself “this person will run of BF ledge and pk fire” and then he does
Jumping off the ledge just got better, thanks to phantom footstool.
Yes
I was just gonna say
I hope people start using this more in tournaments

Exept against swords
Wat is?
Me: *Tries to get off Ledge.*
Gen's Palutena Ledgetrapping Me For 30 Seconds: We don't do that here.
Mkleo and ZeRo too
Is no one going to talk about 7:51? That just fits perfectly even if I didn't want to be reminded of it ever.
Mentioning ptsd while showing the end of the scary maze game made me automatically turn my volume down out of reflex.
good read, BananaBoy
Instinctually closed my eyes bruh
3:38 "Link will be down below" Man I love your editing style
I’ve been watching since 30k and although he’s gotten so far, I think he deserves 200k. Keep it up!
This is fine and all, but I play against a yoshi who just presses Nair at the sight of any movement that covers everything.
If it's out of shield, I suggest empty hopping on their shield, shielding the Nair, and getting a free up smash or whatever.
Drop + up B
Secun Secun yeah, there's counterplay to every action, but forcing the Yoshi to use a considerably worst option out of shield because you punished it a few times is probably a win in his book.
Yoshi's Nair could cover my health insurance. Sorry, bad joke.😆
As a Yoshi main, can confirm
Banana boy telling me that A & W is a bad joint gave me an awakening that got me into elite smash.
Thank you banana boy, very epic.
7:52 God that gave me anxiety
What is that?
I snapped my eyes shut so fast on reflex.

Thank you for more quality content

I play Corrin, so yes I'm always at the ledge. However, that's not a problem :>
Awsome video! Thanks so much for making these
Man your videos all ways seem like they are made specifically for me and what happend in matches that I just played

Number 1: read the opponents mind
You are the 24 frames of nick of smash and I love it!
This is actually perfect I was getting really frustrated fighting the top tiers (Peach Pikachu Snake) because their ledge trapping is so good. Thanks bannanaboy for actually making quality vids that help me improve. Btw I main Ganondorf any tips for the Pikachu matchup
Pick a secondary. Specifically, pick up G&W lol. Beats Pika and you are not going to beat a competent Pika with Ganon anytime soon.
@Jeeses99 G&W advantage state is a giant F you as he can juggle combo for free. Quick Attack is the only tool Pikachu has against G&W juggling, and that can be punished too.

I absolutely love this channel
Let's go, been waiting for a new vid. Love ya banana boy
I like this new outro. It’s soothing
How to avoid “ah gotten, ggs” 101
Don’t get hit
7:52 that actually was genius
My man knows what COOKOUT is?!
This guide was so useful that I now know how to leave the ledge before even watching it!
banana boy: you can see what b-reversing is
me, a meta knight main: I can't really do that
Thank you for this vid. I really need this one!
That gameboy advance reference made me click subscribe, excellent content, great tips
Your videos are brilliant and appreciated
Omg the outro music made my day
Kinda sad he didn't use vocaloid music tbh.
Broke: Not mixing it up
Stoke: Mixing it up
Woke: Not mixing it up because that is a mix-up from mixing it up
Omega woke: self destructing as soon as you get hit offstage so your opponent never has the chance to edge guard or ledge trap
Joke: Turning off the game
Best SSB tutorials
Thanks for the UFD shout out ❤
Instructions unclear, desynced ice climbers
Love the edits!
Your videos are freaking amazing entertaining and so informative 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Honestly just jump with different timings
Henke holy crap helo henke
Wait, you aren't verified? That's strange, you deserve one
You are the best! I should have subscribed a long time ago.
"Having no jump sucks"
Not now that we discovered you can footsool basically EVERYTHING x')
Thank you for this video! Thanks for your time and your work :)
These are really good tips
so the best option is to use a different option everytime, i like it
I dont even play smash, but this is so enjoyable.
Playing Xcal at dreamhack Montreal made me realize all of this...ledge options timing is as important as the option itself :)
Wonderful video bro
These videos are sooo good
Everyone has ledge trapping weaknesses *robin appears
My favorite part of this video was when you used Cook Out for your good option and A&W for your worst option lmao
Also another cheat way is to run stage ledge and air dove into the ledge. Not nearly as fast as doing it right but it’s easier for starters :)
holy shit that ptsd line hit too close to home, i recoiled in fear
You taught me everything I know about yoshi thank you
Why can’t I ever recover with Jigglypuff?
Lol
Because Jigglypuff can’t learn recover
Well she can learn rest
Yes.
Darrest Smash try up b
Protip: dont get off the ledge. Just stay there until you fall and die. Then you respawn center stage with invincibility.
A smash player as well as a fellow man of culture I assume. Great vid lol.
Yay Thanks For The Upload
I play DeDeDe and I pretty much always use his up gordo/down smash ledge trap. I use it pretty much every time and don’t often get punished, should I stop?
Mix in the FSmash version
Sweetshare thx
@@TheStellarJay if you stand on the right spot gordo-fmash covers almost everything you can do on the ledge
Step one: go off stage.
Step two: done.
Instructions unclear, I am now Flo
pikachu (skull bash to jump to quick attack), isabelle and villager (just aim up b correctly) can go to the opposite ledge consistently so yeah
7:52 HOLY SHIT that scared me even though nothing happened
K Rool mains be like "Jump from ledge to suck-n-cuck is the truest combo"
This is important asf. I feel like a lot of stocks are lost from ledge
Samus mains: Fair is a move
Mr. R jokes will never not be funny
Pika mains just quick attack. Top tier privilege
Step 1: Wait until the opponent gets antsy and spams down tilt or starts charging down Smash for some reason
Step 2: Get up attack
Seriously, this works 3/4 times online if they don't have a good below ledge move and most of the 1/4 they predictably go for drop off back air.
How to get off ledge
Just don’t get hit ez pz
Harambe memes in 2019 god bless
Harambe is the only meme we can't say is dead (for obvious reasons).
0:12 I love you.
7:52 guess who threw their phone to avoid getting jumpscared?
i would jump off ledge then immediately pk thunder as a hail mary
Bruh that intro was funny af 😂😂😂
Imagine playing a game with ledges
This post was made by the Rivals of Aether gang
I went to a local and overheard a conversation of someone telling another about head bopping, just letting you know
For example, Yoshi can do a double jump and egg to shoot himself into lower
orbit.
How to get off the ledge:
*HOLD DOWN ON LEFT STICK AND GET BACK ON STAGE*
Footstool farming off ledge double jump may one day be the meta and that pisses me off
I know my biggest weakness but I have a hard time getting out of the habit.
I always default to roll to get off ledge and most of the time I get punished.
AtomBacon yea same . i feel like its an autopilot thing when in panic mode so we aren’t thinking and do what we normally do
Bruh i know this mans didn't say DK's ledge get up attack is S Tier
Remember:
Always wait EXACTLY 1.63259 seconds.
The website he mentioned there is also a mobile app version if anybody likes that, I have had for a few month :)
I almost died when I saw that maze xd
I wish ledge insurance was real
Cook out us godlike love the representation
don't know who this will help, but if you hold shield at ledge with puff and they get up attack, they will be in end lag and you can rest them.
Mad about the a&w jab but otherwise you continue to do God's work
What about when Dedede does a slow Gordo toss and then floats in the air and does neutral b? I got my ass rocked by that strategy
this Video implies u can actually reach the ledge *laughs in min min*
Cookout represent
6:27 That's where you're wrong, kiddo
0:48 Literally don't know how to do that I've tried looking up how to short how of the ledge and there are literally no tutorials.
So Mr.BananaBoy I have a really hard time getting back to stage because Incineroar is easy to edgeguard any tips.
good stuff
Quick question, at 6:42 it looks like Ivysaur is using a third jump, what exactly is happening there
His up B looks like a jump but it grabs ledge
Flip Kick is ledge insurance
