Flounder pounder! Those are cracking fish. Do you remember the Shimano Mission accomplished badges? The only one I ever claimed was for a flounder which was 2lb. They classed 2lb as the specimen weight for a flounder from the shore so that tells you how good those fish were that you two were catching. Nice one!
Superb session and a cracking mark. I had a decent Flounder out of the Humber on Friday evening 36cm but I did lose something much, much bigger through not letting it develop fully but felt it nodding hard for a few seconds and then gone...was gutted but that is fishing
@@theawfulangler there’s a Scottish guy , “ piscator “ something, he uses small cubes of salted mackerel and has great success with them, I generally just catch dogfish if I use fish baits 😂👍👍🤠
Nice one alex mate on ya new p.b.s flounders. As a Humber fisherman i love this time of year especially January, February some right clonkers come out. All the best from G.Y
Well done Alex,it`s nice to target different species and when they`re quality fish it`s all the better......many moons since i fished the beach at Priory Point and the flounders from there were all proper lids.
Another good video. Makes a nice change from cod. I love fishing for flatties on light tackle. I used to fish Arnside, frozen blacks and mackerel was all that was needed for bait. Marty is a Flattie master.
I had a 42 from the same mark the day after you were there, it took a squid and lug wrap! they are deffo not shy there!!! I fished it a fair bit closer to the car park, 3 up 1 down. Loved the vid pal, looking forward to the next cod jaunt vids now!!!
I use the same setup in all sorts of conditions, that's all. You could use fresh water gear for flatties, it's just rare I fish that light, so don't have a setup for it.
The red and black reel is the Spyro 6000, the bigger all black reel is the Akios Airloop R10. If you're interested in either drop me a message, I can supply both.
Local to me, ive had some whopping flounders in and around that area, its the only place where the big flounders actually take spinners!!! Real predators they are!
Well done Alex !
Thanks.
Tight lines, Take care

Brilliant session Alex, we usually get flounders like that in the river at whitby during the summer when the crab are peeling get some big slabs.
That sounds good mate, I'll add that to next year's to do list 👍🏼

Thanks Terry. Nice little walk, but lovely mark!
Good session, I like flounder fishing, we get some big ones here sometimes, never tried fish baits for them though , might have to try it, 👍👍🤠
Small mackerel strips work well 👌🏽
Cooked prawn works well on the Ribble

Certainly does mate 👍🏼
Well done mate that location is the same place I caught my pb plaice it's a big stretch of water ain't it
Great video, but just a query… Why such heavy line for these fish? Does it have to do with the environmental conditions?
I use the same setup in all sorts of conditions, that's all. You could use fresh water gear for flatties, it's just rare I fish that light, so don't have a setup for it.
One of my local marks that you get some cracking flounder at and there's also chance of bass and sea trout.
Tidy session well done 😊
Good effort Alex, they’ve become like the cod down here 😢🎣🐟
Happy fishing. Used to do fishing when . I was younger. I'm 53 now is it too late to start fishing again. I'm from the south of ireland.
Not at all! I'm 30 but the guy I go fishing with is early 50s! Take it up again, you won't regret it!
What a cracking sesh.
Very good 😊
Thanks 😊
Hi ,makes a change from Arnside! What make is that reel on your right hand rod please?
The red and black reel is the Spyro 6000, the bigger all black reel is the Akios Airloop R10. If you're interested in either drop me a message, I can supply both.
Well done,'Big Fella' 😅👍👍
Where do you park for that venue mate
Get to Arnside at low water with creeper rag. Used to dig the worms at Conder Green. We would get 3 flounder a cast at this time of year.
Arnside has been a little slow the last couple of years, but just round the corner downriver at Newbarns is fishing very well on any tide.
Flatty fantastic 👏
Hi mate, cld I find a place for campervan, stay there overnight, ? Fish from the van, cheers,, ps, like your posts
Nice to see some big flounders, wouldn't it be better to put a bigger hook on rather then deep hooking them?
Awsome flatty session pal enjoyed that. Dropped u a sub 🎣
Thanks mate appreciate it
