    I use the Tokyo Roki filters (AA100) on my 2020 STi, the same one that came on it from the factory in Japan.

    I have a 2018 WRX pushing around 400HP currently on e85 I change my oil every 3k miles using Motul 8100 x-cess 5w-40 and using a K&N gold performance oil filter. If you want to protect your engine and filter all those bad contaminants and still get that high flow oil filter use K&N! No problems whats so ever , highly recommend it if you’re pushing more than stock power!

    WIX 57712XP or Napa Gold 7712 with Neodymium magnets outside the filter; Motul 8100 X-CESS 5w40.
    Got off Rotella T6 a while back after getting 2ppm of silver on a previous oil analysis. T6 is only meant for low RPM, high torque engines. So unless you're driving slower than grandma, get oil that's formulated for your driving style and purpose.
    I went with WIX XP and Napa Gold since they're always available and better than OEM blues. I love Motul 8100 XCESS. I'd have to try Gen 2 though.

    Per IAG’s recommendation, I am using Motul 6100 10w-40 and the Purilator PL14460 filter. This filter is a little bigger than the stock filter. I have IAG’s Trojan 2.5 closed deck block. I am on e85, so I change the oil every 1,500 to 2,000 miles. I now have about 12,000 on the block and am not burning any oil.

    Long as the filter has the same psi pressure on the release valve, i dont quite care about brand. I change often enough on reg maintenance that as long as it lasts that standard 6k / 6 mo time frame, no prob on am almost stock engine. That release valve plays a huge role though when pushing the engine is all i know and have experienced first hand.

      Zero, only thing different is just the extra added length but it won't scrape the floor. Spec wise it has the exact same thread pattern and 17psi rated valve spring but other than that it holds bit more oil which is better anyways

      Blue Filters are made by Fram for a Subaru USA, Roki black filters are Japanese made for Subaru and much higher quality, I will only use Black Roki or KnN, I don’t let auto shops do my oil changes, they can never do the basics right, crush washer new, filter and bung plug done up. personally I hate the top mount filters all manufacturers are going to.

    You guys crack me up, you will use the best “oil” you can buy, then use a cheap filter! Blue filters are made by Fram (Honeywell) for Subaru USA, hello how can you guys still not know this!
    The black OEM filter from Subaru for JDM and for us, Roki are way superior, I use those or KnN which I have right now. Still change my oil every 5k.
    The cost saving of oil filters and even oil compared to the damage and longevity of your car seriously! esp a Turbo car, I can never understand this argument, you have a performance car! not a soap box daily!
    You guys spend thousands on mods and expensive shit and then buy cheap crap for the most important part of your car engine! you might get away with it for the time you own the car is just daily, you won’t when you modify and push HP, track it or race it, oil analysis can’t determine allot of of things going on, this is why race teams, rebuild, pull apart known areas under high stress, they check everything, not just because it’s racing, often what can fail is the one thing you don’t expect. but serioulsy the savings on an oil filter vs quality one, just buy a boring every day car, if that’s your jam saving a few $$ re a quality oil filter. Subaru have unfortunately for some years now, cut costs in this area seemingly in the US, we get the black ones here from our dealers, I buy em in packs and crush washers.
    Have a KnN on the H6 Blitz and Roki on the STI and others. Also running Castrol Edge 5w/30 in the H6, though Motul in the STi. I have never skimped on filters or oil changes.
    Would you skimp on the filter for your body, blood is your bodies oil, what’s your filter! a pack of Camels.

  • @kevinzuniga4910
    @kevinzuniga4910 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ima make this simple... if you’re going to pour so much money into your engine to make more power I would not cheap out on an oil filter. What’s an extra bucks going to do? I’ll rather pay those extra $2-$5 for a good oil filter that will provide that excellent oil filtration and oil flow. I have my money on K&N gold performance oil filter. Can’t beat a great oil filter brand that has done tests on the track and performance racing. So please people stop being cheap!! If you have money to modify your car, you have money to get a good oil filter! Get a good oil filter and it will make your engine last longer!
