I think he's one of the more interesting drummers in the genre. He rarely holds onto one rhythm for very long. The whole thing feels like a solo. He is made for this band and their sound.
This guy has great control.

It's always cool to see someone having fun and stuff and playing cool grooves, but watching Matt Greiner is mind-blowing. He's so professional and technical, in the zone. It's incredible!

Am I the only one who hates some of these camera angles? They cut away to unrelated parts of the kit when Matt plays a fill that I want to see or they zoom in on his face so much that you can't see him drum anymore lol. This is supposed to show drummers what he's doing, not be an overly artistic video is it not?

In most situations where you'd like to learn how to play a song, you have to just listen. This is definitely easier, even if it's not as easy as it would be if the perspective just stayed in overhead position. I understand what you're saying, though. Not every musical video is exactly how it could be to fully benefit the viewer.
I swear he's a robot. His posture is so perfect. Nothing moves but his arms and legs; everything else stays in perfect position.
I find it incredibly boring when the drummer to a band is completely static while playing. I think Matt just looks so un-energetic all the time. Sure he should focus on playing, but it really sucks to watch just his arms and legs moving while he has a blank stare on his face.
He doesn't have a blank expression and he gets into the music a lot. I was commenting on his impeccable posture. It was a bit hyperbolic when I said only his arms and legs move, because it really is obvious that he enjoys what he does, if you watch him.

good posture allows you to last longer without fatiguing. it saves your back in the long run

Dravenator ForTheWin yeah its learning how to use your follow through in hitting a higher tom to hitting a lower drum (snare or floor tom) with the same stroke using both hands, then filling in with a double kick roll with each stroke. So it sounds like you are getting double the strokes in.

Greiner is amazing and I love the parts he writes. Totally his own style. Not really a fan of the editing... They cut away from the full kit view a lot when he's doing fills.

Buddy Rich is the best drummer ever. Everybody else falls in between him and a beginner. Matt is skilled for sure though.

Absolute fucking legend he's definitely the best drummer I've ever heard. I've been playing drums since i was 8 and I'm 31 now. I would consider myself very talented. 3:10 is absolutely insane. Can't even tell what he plays for that roll. Can't decipher it. I could if it was slower. He's a fucking octopus. All of his songs blow my mind. They should really have more instrumental CDs than only found in far away places. (Favorite cd though)

I love it all, but I did notice that the fill after the 2 counts of rest at 1:50 seemed very rushed and then he settled into the tempo right after it
Yeah I think it's because I think you would tend to slow down there, but he over compensated. Everyone makes mistakes though!!

The Duke of York completely different style I've seen both live and both are amazing. don't discredit someone because its different and also barker isn't a one trick pony his band is pop punk so thats what you hear him play but he's taken lessons from the time he was young homeboy is an amazing drummer and both are in my top 5

Samuel DiPrete For cheaper ones you can get ones from Shure. They produce high level in ears for a lot cheaper than ultimates.
