I have to be honest and say that what I do for my hair the best ingredient I use is prayer. I pray to God no matter who's making the product. God made my hair 🙏
I bought and used the Mielle RoseMary Mint blend strengthening leave-In Conditioner and as I was massaging it in my hair,it immediately started to matte up before I could start combing it through. I was in shock because I couldn’t untangle my hair in the back of my head so I started rinsing the conditioner out. The more water I put on my hair the more it matted up and it was coming out as I was rinsing , I had to call my niece to help untangle my hair. I was about to cut out the big matted chunks out, but she took her time and combed it out, while loosing quite a bit of my hair. I was left with spaces of long and short hair like a plucked chicken! I had no ideal other people were having the same issues until I read this article . I took pictures of the products used and some of the hair loss. Thanks for the information.
Me too. Same thing, except I used the rinse-out conditioner. I only used it once, and I really wished I never tried it. I was so happy with the condition my hair was in, and then it was completely ruined in just one use. Also, this was in Feb 2022 before the company was bought by Procter and Gamble. Edited typos
@@G.isforGrowthI have very very curly 4c low porosity hair. It’s a game changer!! My hair eats it UP! Definitely give it a try. Hair will stay moisturized for like 2 or 3 weeks without touch up.
Same issue, my hair was fell out so much this past weekend when shampooing and after applying the hair masque. Thank you for the heads up, i am done with this brand.
I’m another person who heard excellent reviews about the Miele oil. My purchased the oil because my hair was shedding. After I used the oil one time, it fell out twice as much. Hair was falling all over my house. It’s falling in the shower, trailing behind me as I’m walking. It was everywhere. This made me extremely anxious. I still didn’t attribute it to the oil, and used it twice more trying my best to reduce the itching. It fell out it clumps. It was sliding down my body in the shower. I finally decided to research the oil and found your video. Then saw so many others talking about this. This is beyond disturbing. Thank you for posting this video, you don’t know how many people you’ve helped.
@@Michelle-pn9xtI used it on my scalp and it did the same thing. Shedding all over my head. Also this commenter mentioned itchiness, this oil caused itchiness on my scalp within the first 5 minutes every time I used it.
@@Michelle-pn9xt Then I would think that if it shouldn't be on the hair, then it shouldn't go on the scalp either because it will still be on your hair roots.
@@catherinebutler3003 It stimulates growth. Growth starts in the scalp. If it is mixed with other moisturizing oils that will help. That is the only time it can be safely applied to your scalp. I do alot of research on products/ingredients/ reactions to skin hair and scalp.
I went and got my thyroid checked too and they said it was normal. I’m glad women are speaking up about Mielle, I have their oil, shampoo and conditioner 😵💫
It’s so frustrating that the Black hair care community has shown time and time again no longterm loyalty to the Black community. As soon as we get behind them and make these companies wealthy they sell off their business. Whatever happened to keeping the business and being dedicated to staying true to the formulations it was founded on? I love supporting black owned businesses but have learned the hard way, think Carols Daughter and Shea Moisture, that I can’t do that anymore when it comes to my hair. I buy and use whats best for my hair irrespective of who owns the company. That said, I have been using Eden Bodyworks since they launched and they’re still Black Owned. I recently tried Kelly Logan’s products and really like the stying gel and moisture defense hair milk.
The goal of every founder is to be bought out by the big companies. There's nothing wrong with that. If the brand goes down after that, it's not the small black owned business owner's fault, but the greed of mega corps like P&G.
Majority of the time there are behind the scenes things happening that forces them to sell. For example, the bigger company could use their powers with suppliers to prevent them from getting ingredients. A lot of black owned beauty supply store complains that suppliers deny them products and keep giving to the Asians, thats why the black owned beauty supply store always seem yo have limited supply while the Asian stores have more than enough
This is why i never use ANY major viral hair brands or products. They always end up selling their company or changing the formula. Honey pot did the same thing people complained she sold the company it wasnt the same.
I just bought honey pot because of all their claims, but my friend was reading the ingredients and they're not as "Clean" as they say. What do you use to replace honey pot?
This!!! I used them when they first came out and was still in a white bottle! After it switched to the pink something most definitely changed (2014-2015) I used the honey pomegranate line in like 2019 got the bald patch in the back of my head and stopped!
Omg I kid you not I was saying the same thing on other TH-camrs comments section I was paranoid that. This is what they could be doing I used the pomogranate pomogranate leave in and twisting soufflé from time to time and no issues but I’m going to throw out what’s left of what I have. As I havnt been using it regularly to notice any effects but I don’t think I want to take chances.
GIRL and this was not the ONLY time this amount of hair has fallen off, but I just thought it was my diet or even my water. I got the Jolie shower filter to make sure it wasn't due to hard water.
My understanding is that MIelle sold their company. So I doubt they gave the new company their original ingredients. When I first heard about this a month ago, from another YOu Tuber. I ditched the one and only time I purchased Mielle. I am using LocSanity for daily moisturizing, and Batana Oil.
I bought some of this a few months ago but accidentally misplaced the product. I just found it a few days ago. Was about to use it today. In the trash it goes!
I had long hair and I normally keep my in braids. I decided to let my hair rest before getting it braided again. First time I washed it I didn’t have oil but, as I had it out got the oil my scalp started itching like crazy. I washed my hair and braided it up honey it looks like I got a pixie cut😩😭 I stopped using their products once my daughter showed me the TikTok videos. Before there was talk about them not making their products for black women anymore around the time she sold the company but, she came online and said that wasn’t true well now we see it is. Our hair is different from white women and they couldn’t use the product because it was so harsh for their hair.
I was using a number of the Mielle products, including the Rosemary oil. My hair was shedding so badly (my shower looked like hers or worse), that I thought maybe i had a disease that had not yet been discovered. I ran out of the oil and started using other products I had available, instead of running to the store to buy more of the oil. That was my saving grace. The shedding stopped soon after. I still didn’t put 2 and 2 together until I saw all the YT reports. Fortunately, I never went to replenish the Rosemary oil. My hair is now on the mend. The significant shedding has stopped, thank God. I recently rounded up all of Mielle products I have in the house, and they’re going in the trash - after I take a pic for proof of ownership. It’s sad because I did really like her products. Oh well…. Fortunately I have others.
@@G.isforGrowth this is likely more than you asked for but: It’s a mixed bag of stuff. For example, Shampoos I like include: CurlMix’s Wash + Go shampoo, 4U’s moisturizing shampoo, or for a clarifying wash, Melanin’s African Black Soap Reviving Shampoo. Sometimes I’ll just co-wash with Herbal Essences “Hello Hydration” which my hair loves and for me, is a great detangler when my hair is dripping wet in the shower. For a deep conditioner, Melanin’s Plumping Deep Conditioner is GREAT when combined with a hair steamer or sitting under a dryer with a plastic cap on. For a regular rinse out conditioner, my hair loves Herbal Essences “Hello Hydration”. I follow that up with Melanin’s Multi-Use Softening Leave-in Conditioner (for twist-outs, etc.). I just recently decided to hold back on putting oil on my hair after washing, since my hair sometimes feels dry days later. Between washes, Instead of adding oil, when needed I’ll very lightly spritz with water and use the Multi-Use Softening Leave-in again. It’s only been two weeks (with 2 washes) and so far my hair is not feeling dry in between washes. It feels soft and moisturized. So for me, leaving out the oil could be helping. I’m still testing that out though. (I just purchased some 4U products. I also like their rinse-out conditioner. If it matters, I have 4a hair, my significant other has 3b/c hair. He was not impressed with the 4U products. He prefers his Herbal Essences Hemp and Aloe products.)
If you're starting to grow your hair back use aloe. Every week or how often do you wash your hair do a aloe treatment on your hair rub the aloe on your scalp your scalp and remember aloe also adds moisture since you said you are allergic to coconut
my hair started excessively shedding when i began using the mielle rosemary oil. i’m mediterranean so i’ve been using rosemary in my hair since i was young and it’s never, ever done that. i stopped and the shedding stopped shortly after.. tried it again just to make sure and after the first use, excessive shedding began. never again. i grow my own rosemary and use it to make my own sprays and oils to use. i don’t trust any product that doesn’t get rinsed off the scalp anymore! idk what it is exactly but this is happening with so many brands and products.
You can grow some in a pot in your window or buy an organic plant from your nursery. Then grab some 100% organic jojoba oil from a local organic food store and some amla seeds from an Indian food store and boom! You’ve got your own oil that will last for at least six months. I do let mine marinate for a couple of months before I first use it because it lets the oils release naturally from the rosemary and amla. You can also add a couple of drops of 100% Australian tea tree if you have itchy scalp.
Honestly all these natural hair brands seem like a money grab. It's so many of them I know ppl aren't purchasing these brands consistently. Many of the hygiene products strip the skin & have been compared to toilet bowl cleaner or floor stripper. I stick with design essentials or a professional brand. Paul Mitchell, kenra, joico. My former stylist used those white pro brands. But how can organic make hair fall out?
Soultanicals makes good products, mostly plant based ingredients and/or ayurvedic. Now I am Nappy, Sarenzo Beauty, Henna Sooq and Curly Proverbz all have Ayurvedic hair care lines (CP is hair treatments and oils, no cleansing or styling products). Adowa beauty and Curl Smith but they are expensive.
I heard Camille rose is good, might have to switch to that, i literally just brought tons of new Mielle products because they were having a sale 😭🤦🏽♂️
I was about to do the same ..then I questioned why they were having a sale THIS good for so long. I thought they were going out of business. Then I looked it up and said Ohh that's why!
Be careful with Camille rose too. I used them a few years ago and it was so moisturizing and amazing. They must’ve sold out too or changed the ingredients because it’s not the same anymore. I would not be surprised if I see similar stories with them in the future 👀 I’ve stuck with taliah waajid and TGIN
@@G.isforGrowth lmaoo. Just know my intuition is on fleeeeeekkkk (showing my age I’m 29😂) so take heed. For years every time I would reach for Mielle I would put it down and get something else. Yep. Got that rosemary oil during a sale and I wondered the same thing! That sale was too good. Oh well. I don't need anything hindering my hair growth.
@@G.isforGrowth find an old bottle and compare it to the new products. Good luck with your alopecia. I had this too from another product and it's taken almost ten months for it to stop.

@@varroz6926 which I understand that theres many reasons why we may be experiencing hair loss. But when theres no changes and the only thing that is consistent is the products. Not this many people can be “wrong”
Been in the beauty business most of my life and this seems par for the course when it comes to hair brands going larger, not sure why. It may be an allergic reaction to the preservatives in products to make them last much longer. If you are already having issues with your hair such as product sensitivities, I would recommend using hand made simple products from trusted boutique vendors, or use or make your own simple products. Cleansing: Black soap, Castile soap, natural soap nuts, Detangling: pure edible oils such as olive oil, avocado, jojoba applied in small amounts on wet hair. Styling: make natural herbal tea leave-in rinses for hair strengthening and protectant. Eliminate direct heat like blow dryers and flat irons, opt for air drying while in twists or braids or roller setting and drying hair under a hooded dryer. Eat a healthy diet of mostly raw fruits and veggies. So sad to see this happening with brands over, and over again.
thank you for all the tips, It just sucks because being so busy with work, it gets complicated to make my own hair products, but Im going to go back to the old days. I do use ACV to cleanse once a month, with my aztec clay mask.
While all of the products I use are not homemade, I agree with your statement. I use macadamia hair mask as a deep conditioner, it’s ridiculously expensive but it works. And cheap silk elements for my high porosity hair to get rid of all the product I have to put in it to keep it moist. I make my own oil (100% organic Jojoba oil, tons of fresh rosemary from my garden, whole amla seeds. I let it sit for two months before the first use, pour some in a dropper and add 100% tea tree oil and use that on my scalp). I also bought 100% organic original castor oil and use a child’s moisturizer from Shea. It’s an expensive endeavor but totally worth it.
@@G.isforGrowthDefinitely try melanin hair care! Their products are actually pretty affordable because their stylers are sold in 16oz vs the regular 8oz.
Same thing happened to me when using Mielle organics, clumps of hair just falling out. Brought waist length hair to shoulder. And bald spots. I’m so freaking mad right now! I couldn’t pin point it. But it started when I started using this product.
I started using meal about three months ago and yesterday I noticed my hairline isn’t as thick and my hair comes out in clumps when I detangle. I’m so sick from this. I’m stopping this crap immediately and getting my hair back on track.
One thing..They keep putting larger amounts of biotin in their products, which has the opposite desired effect. Before the changes, I used mielle to grow my hair. The formula change of the rosemary mint shampoo had my scalp itching TERRIBLY!
My hair is natural and very healthy. I use TGIF (Thank God it's natural), The Doux, Miche Beauty, Cecred, and Uncle Funky's Daughter products. Cecred treatment mask is my go to for deep conditioning.
@@G.isforGrowth for a good natural hair growth oil I definitely recommend African Pride Moisture Miracle. It smells delicious and I've been massaging my scalp with it everyday for about two weeks now, but I used to use it before I cut my hair. I also love the Doo Gro Mega Thick Hair oil! it smells good too. The only other thing I use is the Blue Magic the white kind I forget the name but those 3 combined? girl my hair grew like a WEED. sorry that was long lol. loved the video btw! sorry that happened to you girl.
I never used them but whoa!!. I'm glad u caught that. I use acv and water 2 wash and refresh with oil and water. Wrap foam is life over any butter cream I've ever used. Coconut oil prolly did it. But our hair don't n3ed all the trap they sell us.
Omg I would have the sneezing fits for the next 24 hours following wash day too! It was so bad. So sorry that happened you. I love Camille Rose and TGIN
Thank you. This is one of two videos and I got my confirmation. Same timeline about a year ago cool and now I am just grateful for you all who create content. I thought it was my shower water or diet or my twist out. Thank you so much. For reference I used the rosemary daily moisturizer and my hair started to “web”. I was combing through and it was coming out so I added another moisturizer so I could comb through. The other moisturizer definitely helped. Not a chemist so I do t want to make an accusation. I will say I haven’t used the product in a while so it’s probably not over use. It could also just be the rosemary product and not others in the brand. Just telling what i experienced. I hope the creator is able to recover the situation. Want folks to be successful and HEALTHY. 🙏🏽
She just issued a statement claiming absolutely nothing has changed. I don’t know what they’re doing in the factory but IF they did secretly change the ingredients and keeping the label the same that’s foul as hell.
I feel like there's just too many similar stories to be "nothing". People's hair are falling out. and these are not haters, these are people who love their products.
i have to be honest, and this is just my personal experience. i stopped using black owned products other than camille rose. all of my other products are ones “not meant for me” like amika, eva nyc or redken. i did a huge big chop my hair has never been healthier than when i made the switch. with amika in specific, my hair literally sings.
Braids were thinning my hair. I didnt feel like i was getting them that often, but i think it was often enough and they were heavy enough to cause breakage that took me way too long to catch. Now im on a twisted natural journey and im seeing the length and thickness I'd previously lost.
I'm perimenopausal...My hair and scalp changed significantly when I turned 29/30. I have kinky twists in but short ones!! I can't where those 22-40 inch braids and twists any more!! I wear braided or twisted extensions once a year.
I was using Mielle Hawaiian Ginger gel and leave-in for the better part of the last year after never using Mielle before. My natural hair was about shoulder length when I started. If I braided my hair, the ends of my braids were reasonably thick (with some taper, but nothing drastic). My hair is now bra strap length, but about 4 months ago, I started noticing a lot of short hairs around my crown area and the top of my hair. I thought my hair was in a growing stage and that it was new hair growth. More recently, I started noticing breakage around my hairline. I have been wearing braided styles all summer (I redo them once a month), and started noticing more and more short hair sticking out of my braids. (I was using mielle leave-in before braiding.) This weekend, I finally straightened out my natural hair so that I could look at the strand length easier. Girl!!!! Even though I have tons of hair, so my hair still looks "normal" and full, I see a lot of shorter hairs mixed in of different lengths that are obviously breakage. 😮 I can't say that this was all Mielle's doing as I also used two other gels a few times this year. But, it is highly suspect as I was using the Mielle stuff more and for a longer period of time. When I started using these products, I had none of this breakage. The ends of my braids are now thin, wispy and "jagged" because of all of the differences in length. When i look through a section of hair, I see more thickness in the middle and can see through the bottom 1/3 more -- seemingly because of the breakage/missing strands in that area. 😢 Has anyone else noticed breakage using the Hawaiian Ginger line? I never used the hair oil.
People keep saying to look at the product label, but that will tell you very little about ingredient QUANTITY and QUALITY changes. All the same ingredients will most likey be listed, if not consumers would be alerted to bait and switch tactics more quickly. Also just because your hair did not fall out right away does not mean an older formula worked for you. Our bodies can take weeks to months before severe adverse reactions (e.g. hair loss) are shown. Burning, soreness and itching are often the first signs but they are not always present.
I totally agree, there's way to many people with similar symptoms. I do believe that there may have been a quantity and quality change because like I said I've been using their products for the last 4 years.
@@G.isforGrowth allergic reaction and my hair was falling out in clumps. I was literally scraping my scalp it was so itchy, and my idiot self kept applying more. The crazy thing is i never had issues with her product until this past year.
My suggestion would be to go to a dermatologist and a Trichologist as well as get blood work done. I know you mentioned a lot and that can contribute to your hair change. We must remember our body is always changing, which can mean for years your were ok with essential oil and now you have allergies to it. I would absolutely seek a professional to double check it could also be something you’re eating and you didn’t know. .
Kimberly Kimble is a good product as well she's a well-known celebrity hairstylist who has worked with Beyonce and others. I used to buy her products in Walmart but now they don't have them anymore but to make this long story short her products definitely work and grew my hair.
I stopped messing with Mielle when her and her husband were trying to intimidate influencers to only give good reviews. I did not like that energy, and she is a sell out, her attitude also doesn't sit right with me - she is on an episode of Selling Tampa on Netflix. I am a long time user of Shescentit products, still privately owned.
If you have anything silk, that same ginger line, use some on something silk and feel how slimy it feels after you rinse it. I used ivory soap in the same silk garment and it felt normal! And my hair looked just like yours before I stopped using mielle and that’s only because I was at my ends and started going to a natural hair dresser once per week and she uses different products. My scalp is doing so much better I just realized it might have been mielle.
I’ve been seeing stuff about this oil so I came here to find out more, so crazy! Shout out to you for getting your education by the way, that’s a huge accomplishment!!!! I’ve used this oil before and never had any issues, I still have some but I honestly don’t remember when I bought it, it may have been two years ago. I did have a bald spot about 6-7 months ago and I don’t know what caused it but maybe it was this oil, I haven’t used it most of this year and my spot has grown back
Interesting how I have used the mielle rosemary oil on my scalp and my hair has grown. I only use the oil on the 2nd day after wash day only which is weekly. On occasion I have gone about 9 days before my next shampoo. I do not use any other mielle hair products. The first time I heard about this issue was several months ago and I continued using the mielle rosemary oil with no issues and still do-used it last week.
This also happened with me with Mielle a few years ago, I thought maybe it was anxiety related shedding but hearing this and thinking back on the stinging itching scalp it was definitely the Mielle
Listening to your video made me remember that I had a bald patch in the back of my head around the time I was using these products a few years ago. I literally gasped because I forgot all about it honestly. I used the Kaleidoscope Miracle Drops (Extra Strength) RELIGIOUSLY, and it grew back but I never put two and two together until this moment. I still use the drops while in protective styles as well! I get two bottles at a time because they sell out fast!😂
Shikakai Aloe Powder Sidr Soapnut Alma hair mask every week. I only have very few hairs to shed, like maybe 10 hairs during wash day lol and zero hairs throughout the week. I've done away with commercial shampoos, Although I do use a commercial deep conditioner and a commercial twisting cream
I use shikakai and Amla as well. For deep conditioner I use moringa and fenugreek check out curly proverbs she shows you how to mix your own organic conditioners and she has her own line too with henna, Amla, fenugreek and aloe ❤❤❤
@@G.isforGrowthI've learned watching @CurlyProverbz @GreenBeauty @HennaSooq you can infuse oils with herbs do herbal teas rinse make your own hair butter with infused herbs use onion juice stimulate follicles (I'm weary about the lingering smell, it's said you can use EO lemongrass to mask the smell)
Miche beauty is kind of expensive compared to some of mielle’s prices but i would say it’s worth it. i love the tropical oasis gel and their mousse. im in the process of trying the whole line but i’ve heard nothing but good things about them. You can check their YT channel for product demos as well. Most of their stuff is one and done stylers and as someone who shingles and mostly does wash and goes it saves a bit of time not having to add a separate leave in. Although i’m leaning towards more styles that will stretch my hair that i can do quickly as i feel wash and goes may be causing more breakage from tangles caused by the hair shrinking from the constant rewetting i do to reset my hair in the mornings( necessary to not look like i have helmet hair)
I'll have to check it out, money is really tight right now since starting The Cre8 App . I love wash and goes , I lock everything with gel so I don't refresh until the next wash day
I'm glad you made this video and let the truth be known shame people's experience with these products since the switch ! Unlike TH-camr @Busiswa she was totally blame people for not taking care of their hair basically it was their fault and then the CEO of Miellee completely disregarded I don't care what they say the ingredients changed ! An as a result the majority have melanated people that has used the product since then have ALL experienced hair loss myself included !! 🤞🏾
For sure, that's a lot of assumption on @busiswa part. Ive been using mielle faithfully since I did the big chop in 2020. And I was still using their hair products because I wasn't thinking they might be the problem since I haven't changed my regime for years. I went to a dermatologist and got a shower filter. Made sure I was having a good diet, and still hair loss.
They have cancer causing ingredients which is why they recalled the shampoos like Pantene and Herbal Essence which is what a lot of our sisters use. This is wicked. They know what they do!
So I’m not the only one! I thought there was something wrong with my hair or that I had an unchecked health issue, but it turned out to be the Mielle products. I found this out when I switched to Chebeauty products (the chebe hair butter and oil; I can’t recall the name of the oil). It has done wonders for my hair. Mielle was causing my hair to be so terribly dry, and my scalp was very dry and itchy. I was miserable. 😢 But when I saw that brands like Maui Moisture, TGIN, and Chebeauty worked much better, I threw the rest of the Mielle products in the trash! I agree that the formula must’ve changed, because a few years ago, that line, especially the almond mint oil, made my hair grow longer and thicker. 😕
I am heart broken I grew my hair down to 33 inches and thought somthing was wrong with me when it started to fall out in the shower from the roots when the water touched it right after using mielle. Before 2024 I used the basic cream of nature and or trying out tgin but this summer when I used the mielle Hawaiian hair line the blue color and the pomegranate dark pink hair line my hair begin falling out in clumps from the roots and this never has happened in my 31 years of living. I don’t use heat I only did natural hair styles for the longest . There was like nothing left on my head so I chopped off leaving a max of four inches . And now I realized every time it fell out three major times this year even after the big chop it was after using there deep conditioner there conditioner and there detangling conditioner. I’ve used Camille rise since 2020 and I have no issue the line is expensive so I have saved it for my most special occasions . Just gonna have to switch to that and what my mother used to grow my hair out fast as a kid . I’m glad I found other women experiencing the same issue using this brand, makes me know I’m not crazy.😢
Damn I love mielle, especially her sea moss , mango tulsi and rice water line, I never cared for the rosemary line. I use it on my mom time to time no issues. I will say that when I used the Mango tulsi mousse my scalp was irritated af. My holy grails are TGIN , Mane Choice and Camille rose. Ali Kay is really good too. Sucks because mielle is pretty cheap compared to the other brands I named.

This is exactly what happened to me !!!! 💔💔💔 for one year I’ve been losing so much hair but 2 months ago I realize that the chunks of hair were increasing and I said enough is enough !!! I’m so sad because I lost at least 50% of my hair, destroyed my curl pattern and now I don’t know if I should go to a dermatologist, or what shampoo/conditioner/ treatment use ! And every single video I find tells the same story but no solutions about how to stop my hair falling out 💔😭 girlies what should I do ??? My only solution has been keep my hair straightened so I feel this way is less the hair falling. I appreciate any help
I recently had the same thing happen to me. I only use mielle scalp oil on occasion, not regularly and have been for about 3 years off and on. I think it’s something spiritual going on. I am seeing an influx in sebrehic dermatitis as well in black women. Could it be Mielle or something else
I’ve seen posts online where people are floating the theory that it could possibly be counterfeit products in beauty supplies and 3rd party sellers on amazon. If you don’t mind me asking, where do you purchase your mielle products?
i use as i am, aunt jackie's gel, and the doux. For mielle, i used their pomegrante curl smoothie for two twistouts and decided not to use it again. my scalp and my legs were itching, showing me there was some sort of systemic reaction going on. it's such a shame though because I've been using their edge control for over a year now which might explain my edge's sparseness and inability to grow 🥲I'm telling yall, too many of these curly/coily hair products have too much going on. So many niche oils and ingredients OR heavy products that weigh the hair down. I am allergic to shea butter, so I tend to avoid it in my products. But with mielle, they'll have moringa and babassu and a whole load of other things I can't keep track of or know if I'm allergic to them or know what they do.
I wondered why my hair had a lot of knots and clumps and then I noticed my hairstyles was looking really thin and my ends kept getting worse thinning and breaking 😢 so I realized this just now and I have used these products for about 9 months now😢

I hope they figure it out, and also their PR does a better job on not blaming the consumer, and trying to find the root of the problem. because I did love their products
I thought it was just my hair , I was going thru stressful situation at the time and I never seen my hair fell like that before I was scared but I blamed it on stress , my hair got so dry like never before , done with it
Gisselle, I wonder if you have CCCA, a type of alopecia. I know you have been doing some differential diagnosis, have you looked into this condition? I causes hair loss in the center of the hair and it can cause stinging/pain in the scalp. Stress can exacerbate it.

I don’t think it’s far fetched to believe that some of you content creators are doing things intentionally to create content that will bring views. I have 4c hair and used Mielles Rosemary brand because my son had some left and he’s afraid to use…lol. I still have ALL of my hair. 😊
Im so glad i never bought that shit. Imma stick with the African Pride Moisture Miracle line :3 (ps. Im really sorry that happened to you I cant even imagine how you feel rn)
I’ve been using Mielle for a while and just recently recognized some thinning and irritation. What are some good and safe recommendations that I could find at Walgreens or Sally’s? I live somewhere where curly hair products still aren’t so common and accessible so any help and recommendations would be appreciated!!
I just recently bought Camille Rose cocoa nibs and honey ultimate strength serum, I got it at Walgreens. I've seen good reviews when it comes to Camille rose and it is black owned. Id say a lot of these hair products you can order online if you can't find it at your local stores.
I have never used mielle. I keep hearing they are great on youtube but never tried them. I finally got their custard and my hair was sticky, never used it again.
A product containing rosemary and mint should only be used on your scalp. Never leave something like that in your hair.
Me too. Same thing, except I used the rinse-out conditioner. I only used it once, and I really wished I never tried it. I was so happy with the condition my hair was in, and then it was completely ruined in just one use. Also, this was in Feb 2022 before the company was bought by Procter and Gamble.

Same issue, my hair was fell out so much this past weekend when shampooing and after applying the hair masque. Thank you for the heads up, i am done with this brand.
soo sadd, because I really liked the brand
Why were you using that oil on your hair? That type of oil should only be used on your scalp.
@@Michelle-pn9xtI used it on my scalp and it did the same thing. Shedding all over my head. Also this commenter mentioned itchiness, this oil caused itchiness on my scalp within the first 5 minutes every time I used it.

Then I would think that if it shouldn't be on the hair, then it shouldn't go on the scalp either because it will still be on your hair roots.
@@catherinebutler3003 It stimulates growth. Growth starts in the scalp. If it is mixed with other moisturizing oils that will help. That is the only time it can be safely applied to your scalp. I do alot of research on products/ingredients/ reactions to skin hair and scalp.

ORS, Design Essentials, Lusters, Bronner Bros and most of the OG hair greases are still black owned.
thank you for the recommendations !!

I got chills looking at the shower 😮 i wonder if they changed the ingredients without changing the labels. Definitely kooks like corporate sabotage
Omg I kid you not I was saying the same thing on other TH-camrs comments section I was paranoid that. This is what they could be doing I used the pomogranate pomogranate leave in and twisting soufflé from time to time and no issues but I’m going to throw out what’s left of what I have.
Yep I don't care what nobody says the ingredients have changed and they know it but they are not going to tell us that ! 🤞🏾
Definitely have changed!! My daughter hair and scalp was full of dandruff and started shedding like crazy!!!!
I bought some of this a few months ago but accidentally misplaced the product. I just found it a few days ago. Was about to use it today. In the trash it goes!
money in the trash 🥲
Oh well…. Fortunately I have others.
what do you usually use?
THANK YOU !!!!
I’m sorry this happened to you! Try Camille Rose Naturals, Donna’s Recipe, or TGIN
I just went to Walgreens and spent my coin on some Camille rose cocoa nibs and honey ultimate strength serum
my hair started excessively shedding when i began using the mielle rosemary oil. i’m mediterranean so i’ve been using rosemary in my hair since i was young and it’s never, ever done that. i stopped and the shedding stopped shortly after.. tried it again just to make sure and after the first use, excessive shedding began. never again. i grow my own rosemary and use it to make my own sprays and oils to use. i don’t trust any product that doesn’t get rinsed off the scalp anymore! idk what it is exactly but this is happening with so many brands and products.
I want to learn how to make my own rosemary oil , all the DIY masks just take so much work , 🥲
You can grow some in a pot in your window or buy an organic plant from your nursery.

Hello Design essentials, Briogeo, and Pattern Beauty are all black owned and get good reviews.💜
(I was using mielle leave-in before braiding.)
This weekend, I finally straightened out my natural hair so that I could look at the strand length easier. Girl!!!! Even though I have tons of hair, so my hair still looks "normal" and full, I see a lot of shorter hairs mixed in of different lengths that are obviously breakage. 😮
I can't say that this was all Mielle's doing as I also used two other gels a few times this year. 😢
Has anyone else noticed breakage using the Hawaiian Ginger line?
I had a similar experience with the rosemary scalp & hair quencher and the growth oil
itchiness? 👀

My suggestion would be to go to a dermatologist and a Trichologist as well as get blood work done. I know you mentioned a lot and that can contribute to your hair change. she has an online store im assuming?

I have used their products since my big chop, so never in a million years did I think it would be the hair products, even though I had the sneezing.
I get two bottles at a time because they sell out fast!😂

you can infuse oils with herbs
do herbal teas rinse
make your own hair butter with infused herbs
use onion juice stimulate follicles (I'm weary about the lingering smell, it's said you can use EO lemongrass to mask the smell)
😳 I didn't hear this !! That's crazy !!!!
That's true, my hair fell out in clumps and it been thin ever since I started using it
Soultanicals, nature's little secret, neges banda, henna sooq, curly proverbz, camille rose, Donna's recipe. That just a few.
THANK YOU ! I just bought some Camille rose
After using the Miele Oil 2x my hair started falling out in clumps too… I immediately switched to Pattern beauty oil and TGIN❤️🙏
That was exactly my experience. With the tender scalp included. My hair strands also felt plasticky and were snapping like I had burnt them.
Oh wow! 😳 what are you using now?
That explains a lot
Damn I love mielle, especially her sea moss , mango tulsi and rice water line, I never cared for the rosemary line. I use it on my mom time to time no issues. I will say that when I used the Mango tulsi mousse my scalp was irritated af. My holy grails are TGIN , Mane Choice and Camille rose. Ali Kay is really good too. Sucks because mielle is pretty cheap compared to the other brands I named.
yesss, and my hai loved their coconut ginger line. I just bought Camille rose oil
@@G.isforGrowth yes Camille rose oil is really good and not heavy. Also you should try TGIN biotin repair oil,I Use that one everyday it can also be used as an Hot oil treatment too
Im sorry this happened to you 😢. I only bought one bottle and its from last year. I think my hair prefers alma oil instead but Im scared to buy another mielle bottle...
Im scared tooo !!! I have so much of their products, im scared to take my braid out because Ive been using the rosemary oil
Look into the channel Tamara's Haircare. She has relaxed hair and mielle organics destroyed it about a year ago. She's been documenting her recovery.
Yes I saw that as well she was left with a good amount of hair left but those products did a number on her hair .
I just saw her video about the rosemary line 😳
1:35 girl but why are you washing your hair every week? No wonder it’s in clumps you’re manipulating it WAY TOO MUCH.
There’s a lot being sold on Facebook marketplace!
I bought my products from their website, and the oil I got from Walgreens. 👀
I use to love this brand, but I feel like the formula has changed too. 😢 That’s why I use my own natural hair products and my hair is flourishing!
what are some products that you're using at home?
i use as i am, aunt jackie's gel, and the doux. But with mielle, they'll have moringa and babassu and a whole load of other things I can't keep track of or know if I'm allergic to them or know what they do.
my hai loves aunt jackies gel !
Aunt Jackie's is great but not black owned, and neither is As I Am...
Daily it was falling out!!!!!! Mine was, I was only using Mielle products!!!
I thought I was the problem, not my hair products, since theyre suppose to be doing the opposite
@@G.isforGrowth I’m so sorry we’ve all been deceived.
I wondered why my hair had a lot of knots and clumps and then I noticed my hairstyles was looking really thin and my ends kept getting worse thinning and breaking 😢 so I realized this just now and I have used these products for about 9 months now😢
Oh no I just put some in my head 💀
Of the oil 🫢🫣 have you noticed any difference in your hair ?
@@G.isforGrowth yes the oil I had it in for about 15 mins since I leave oil in my head and my face started to feel numb and my head was itching so I decided to try to put coconut oil in on top of the oil and it felt like it calmed down idky i had that reaction I’ve never been allergic or whatever happened has never happened before but now it feels like some kind of tingle like my scalp feel’s ticklish
Same thing happened to me when I used the rosemary mint line. My scalp felt like it was burning. I had a bald spot an in the back of my head
Thank you procter and gamble is the devil.
👀
Where is the class action lawsuit lol fr tho
I don't know girl, their was a screenshot on the titkok I highlighted in this video, but there's just too many things lining up for me to be comfortable.
Wait so how do i treat my hair after this mess 😭😭😭
I used mielle rosmary line…I believe it damaged my hair because before using it my hair was flourishing! I’ve done two trims in less than a month ! I’m done with their products!
my hair hated the rosemary hair mask , too drying, no slip. I did love the coconut ginger line
My hair did that with another brand. I threw it away even though it was $25 a jar.
$25 dollarrrrrr 🥴. its ROUGHHH OUT HERE
I've never used the Mielle Rosemary oil, but I've used the Honey and Pomegranate leave in for a couple of years.. My hair does well with it.. However I will not be using any of the products since the change of the company...No wonder they've been having these online blowout sales with everything $7.00 for 3 days.. I have to unsubscribe to their e mail list...
This whole situation is so sad. I really thing is that damn oil and rosemary line. Caz I have no problem with the other lines.
I hope they figure it out, and also their PR does a better job on not blaming the consumer, and trying to find the root of the problem. because I did love their products
I thought it was just my hair , I was going thru stressful situation at the time and I never seen my hair fell like that before I was scared but I blamed it on stress , my hair got so dry like never before , done with it
Try Curls!!! I love their blueberry bliss collection 💙..Also, Camille Rose!!!
Gisselle, I wonder if you have CCCA, a type of alopecia. I know you have been doing some differential diagnosis, have you looked into this condition? I causes hair loss in the center of the hair and it can cause stinging/pain in the scalp. Stress can exacerbate it.
Is that why I see so many of their products in TJ Maxx & Home Goods?!
👀
Yessssss I had a sneezing fit tooo lol and now it happened with shea moisture the manuka honey
YESS !! girl people thought I was sick and dying, lol
I don't remember with the manuka honey if I HAD SNEEZING, but I did stop using it cause It had no slip.
@@G.isforGrowth I posted a vid on tik yok and every swearing I was Algeria to rosemary or mint. Like no guys I use those essentials oils in my homemade oils. So that’s not it. I think I’ll just stick to my OG natural hair care because this is ridiculous.
How traumatizing! I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I hope you’re restored asap!
The Avocado Hair Milk broke my hair off so bad. I haven't used any more of their products.
I didn't even get to those, I would only use the coconut ginger line . Im so sorry that happened to you ! how is your hair doing now, and what are you using?
Mine too and that's all. I use avocado moisturizer and hair mask. I have all her products. The shedding shampoo and conditioner sea salt and my hair is coming out in clumps what should we do about this
😳 that's crazyyy !!!! I just bought Camille rose oil
I have some of that product line but i think they're from before she sold out
my hair use to love it!!!
thank you for sharing this. It explains what happened to my hair
Same thing happened to me and other family!
too many people with the same experience
Smh my hair has always shed with stress and i gt a high stress job and then ive had a baby so i was lik maybe its the baby shedding , bop clearly not. Happy i didnt reup for their last sale
and yes all of those can play a factor but it can also mask the problem that it might be the product, because you don't always have PP shedding.
omggggg thats it! I have a bald fkn patch in my head
👀which line do you use?
They must have changed the formula. I love their babassu deep conditioner it’s my favourite
I think so too, even though she keeps saying they didn't.
The same thing happened to me but my hair dresser to me to not leave in and make sure to wash it after
the mint oil ?
I don’t think it’s far fetched to believe that some of you content creators are doing things intentionally to create content that will bring views. I have 4c hair and used Mielles Rosemary brand because my son had some left and he’s afraid to use…lol.
I still have ALL of my hair. 😊
😳😳😳 i would rather keep my hair hahaha
Try Soultanicals
Loveeee soultanicals!!
I'm going to check them out!! someone also told me to try Innersense beauty
We have to stop sharing hair routines bc they are watching us. We dnt call our head our "crown" for nothing. Jus evil
Who is “they”?
Im so glad i never bought that shit. Imma stick with the African Pride Moisture Miracle line :3 (ps. Im really sorry that happened to you I cant even imagine how you feel rn)
I love African Pride and it's so affordable.
@@G.isforGrowthThank you!
They add Retinyl Palmitate to their products and it is known to cause hair loss among other health issues
I have never used mielle. I keep hearing they are great on youtube but never tried them. I finally got their custard and my hair was sticky, never used it again.
Their products were really good, idk what's going on now
@@G.isforGrowth typically i avoid a brand once i learn they changed owners. Thats probably what happened with them. Sorry about the breakage
