Those people who drove the Baghdad Renaissance were Persian subjects . Persians had great tradition of learning before advent of Islam.

How many Muslims were there in India when Baghdad was destroyed, that is, when you were not converted, but before that you feel the history is yours.

Continue: India had witnessed many upheavals including greek, Kushan, Huna, and scythian invasions. The disapoearance of Buddhism from India was due to the hostilities Buddhists faced. So history is the record of past happenings. But it is humannature not to accept unsavoury facts. .

My point is why do Muslims in India consider the history of the Arabs as their history? Just as the history of Indian Christianity and European Christianity is different.

Therefore, the point that Indian Muslims suffered because Baghdad was destroyed there is wrong

It is such a strange phenomena where Muslims of India and Pakistan take pride in achievements of foreign Muslims. Even the Muslim rulers within India were all foreigners.
It is like a converted Christian in India and Pakistan taking pride in European civilizations and empires. It just does not make any sense whatsoever.

Correction with no offense. Baghdad was destroyed by Halagu in 1258, not Genghis Khan who had been dead for 31 years, way before arrival of his grandson Halagu in Baghdad theater. By the way, Genghis Khan died in year 1227.

I don't understand this concept of "we Muslims". Which Muslims is he talking about when he says "Muslims"? Muslims have been spread in multiple kingdoms from 7th century. At the time when some Muslims were occupying foreign lands, other Muslims in other kingdoms were starving for food! When some Muslims were translating advanced Indian knowledge into their local languages in Bagdad and Persian, foreign invaders were producing destitute Muslim children in India. When Abdul Gafar Khan was fighting for India's freedom, orphan children of foreign invaders were fighting for an Islamic Caliphate, which is now being called as Pak! All kinds of Muslims existed always! Since Pakistanis are not clear on who their father is, they call every great father as their own. But, no father, including Afghanistan is willing to accept this orphan!

Sirs,it is the institutions/Universities/Academies which propelled European science and technology.
The golden age of Arab religion with Abbasid caliphate at Baghdad had some individuals of different nationalities who did some seminal work and translations in science but not backed by institutions. Madarsas remained the backbone of Arab religion's religious education.

Pl. Ignore typos in my above post. The period of Islamic contributions to scientific knowledge was from 8th CE to 14th CE. The destruction of Islamic centres of learning by Mongol invasions in 13thCE all acrosd West Asia brought about the decline in Islamic knowledge traditions and due to the rise of orthodox clergy.

Great men of Mutazilites movement were Ex Muslim and atheists. Dr. Parvez Hoodbouy is also an Ex Muslim and atheist. Why does he yearn and lament for Muslim and not for humanity is beyond my comprehension. After all , Muslim will do the same to Dr sahab what Gazali did to mutazilites.

The question is not what Imam Ghazali said, but why everyone had to accept what he said This is the real question. Rather than talking about the religious complexities of Islam, you were free to blame everything on someone else

    • @LITTLE-ROCK
      @LITTLE-ROCK 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

The guy, and others like him, have no clue about what Imam Ghazali said and what impact it had on Muslims. Imam Ghazali believed in occasionalism, and the belief in occasionalism does not negate human initiative and effort. It is clearly stated by scholars who explained occasionalism that it is the custom of God that He creates things in a certain way, and that is for our benefit also. Hence, for example, we need not worry about gravity every morning we wake up, as we can be reasonably confident that our feet will land in the ground and not fly upward when we walk. The guy mentions the Muslim custom of saying if God wills for everything, as if that entails doing nothing and ceasing all human initiative, which is just not true. If that were the case, Muslims would cease going to school for knowledge, stop going to doctors for treatment, stop drinking water for thirst, and basically stop doing anything in life: but surely that's not the case. For the record the scientific method was introduced by Ibn al Haytham, who believed in occasionalism himself.
If occasionalism were the cause behind decline in science among Muslims, then what stopped the Iranian Shias from producing scientific geniuses for hundreds of years despite their mutazila creed?

He does not talk of Contributions made by Islamic scholars of Cental Asia, Iraan, Iraq Ottoman Turkey, Spain, and N. Africa. The European Dark Ages were lighted upby the scientific contributions of Muslim scholars.true they got their initialimpetus from Greek, Indian and Christian sources. But madtook that knowledge forward by doing olreserch and investigation. The period of Islamic knowledge was fro 8Th Century CE to 1th CE.

Only Abrahamic religions don't . All Eastern religions budhdhism, Jainism, various sects of Hinduism are extremely scientific and atheistic. In fact astronomy is common to them plus native American Maya Inca and chinese.
Only Abrahamics like Christians and Muslims believe in a flat earth.

Seize of Baghdad ended the knowledge seeking and intellectual part and turned all practices military. Namaz became disciplined army assembly, animal sacrifice became a must to desensitize Mujahideen to killing and all hadiths became military strategy doctrines about war, conquest and subjugation of conquered.
First attacks were on budhdhists because mongols who attacked Baghdad later turned budhdhists. Then all axial age religions Jainism, charvahaka, aajivaka etc. which were basically the same as Greeks (atheistic & philosophical). After that Muslims turned to their cousins zoroasters and Vedic brahmins (who migrated to India following polytheism while zoroasters converted to monotheism in iran)
With no regard to philosophy or culture differences between shaive, Vaishnav, Jain, budhdhist brahmins, aajivaka, etc. Everyone was labelled as a Hindu and kafir worthy of killing, conversion and enslavement by the religious army. This understanding prevails till today.

For this so-called liberal Pakistani discussing and glorifying history of science ostensibly by Muslims is academic exercise and if Hindus discuss and glorify their past scientific and technological achievements then it’s Hindu extremism.
