    Mr Syed Muzammil, what I found in Pakistan is everyone knows what are the ills plaguing Pakistan, but nobody has got concrete solutions. Every talk show agrees that something is wrong but everyone is scared to name. Too much of religion in every sphere of life will take you to blackhole. Just being proud on what happened 400 years ago will not take you anywhere in contemporary period.

    I have been following Hoodbhoy since 15 years now, he is considered to be a freethinker or something like a leftiberal in Pakistan. Now can you imagine any Indian leftist academician or even a simple liberal one talking about pan Hinduism or greater Indosohere( called innocently akhand bharat by Indian rightists) or calling a particular "Hindu age" as Golden period. By portraying himself as a "liberal" he has never avoided taking foward soft Islamism.
    This my friends is the prime difference between India and Pakistan and yes we are different people !

    • @atokimruk937
      @atokimruk937 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Totally different. They are afro-middle east people. Norhing to do with us genetically, culturally or anything. Yes, they have taken big chunks of our culture and language(s), but we have nothing in common. We need a super hard boarder between the countries.

    • @lanoklom9697
      @lanoklom9697 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That is a problem for Hindus then, and it is because the average Hindu suffers from an inferiority complex.
      The Westerners openly celebrate their golden periods; whether it is the renaissance, the scientific revolution or the industrial revolution. Similarly Muslims celebrate their period of advancement when they had great minds and were excelling in science.
      Why doesn't the Hindu celebrate their own achievements? That's a YOU problem. And yes agree, we are different.

    • @lanoklom9697
      @lanoklom9697 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Indians don't talk about their golden age because they suffer from an inferiority complex. The Westerners openly boast about their renaissance, scientific revolution and industrial revolution; similarly Muslims boast about their golden era of achievements.
      If you don't boast about yours, that's a YOU problem.

    • @lanoklom9697
      @lanoklom9697 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Chinese proudly boast about their golden age and scientific achievements. The Westerners proudly boast about their scientific and industrial revolutions. If Muslims are doing it there is nothing wrong. Question is, why are your people suffering from a complex that they don't boast about their own achievements?

    • @bhnuc
      @bhnuc 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes we have nothing in common. It may seem good in Coke Studio comment section but in hard practical world, Subcontinent's muslims are different in most spheres from Hindus. 47 ki leadership ka total population exchange na karna was a grave mistake for Hindus.

    A self-limiting unity exists to bind Muslims together, preventing Muslim communities from being able to openly criticize, question Quran and Islamic belief system and the causes of its failure in the modern world. This is because right in childhood their individuality and critical thinking ability, in fact their Self, has already been surrendered to the Ummah.

      It is because the modern descendants of those Hindus suffer from an inferiority complex and do not celebrate their own achievements. Tell me something? If Hindus were openly proud about their scientific achievements and would confidently tell the world what their civilization has given it, don't you think they would get credit for it?
      Of course they would, but the average Hindu still suffers from an inferiority complex and as such does not tell the world everything they have contributed in history.
      Hence in the West, they know about Sun -Tzu or Machiavelli but no one knows about Chanakya. In the West they know about, Ibn Rushd, Ibn Sina, Ghazali, Confucius, Tao; but no one knows about Sushruta. If you're own people don't proudly present their history, don't expect others to care either.

    • @lanoklom9697

      Because you don't promote your golden age, your own people don't know about it. The educated Indian knows about Machiavelli and Sun-Tzu but does not know about Chanakya. Because you suffer from an inferiority complex; The Chinese, Westerners and Muslims don't suffer from this complex hence they promote and celebrate their past achievements.

      Prof .Hoodbhoy talks about Ram and questioned his origin which is fine , but he cannot do the same to Allah/Rasool and that is exactly what is ailing this community all over the world and will continue to ail with no end in sight .

      @@atrauli @user-un2ve5eg7o The six Darshanas, also known as the six schools of Indian philosophy, are:
      1) Samkhya: Founded by Kapila Muni, Samkhya is a rationalist school of philosophy that denies the existence of God and believes in the dual existence of Purusha (consciousness) and Prakriti (matter)
      2)Yoga: Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras form the basis of this school. It emphasizes meditation and moral virtues as means to liberation12.
      3) Nyaya: Founded by Gautama Rishi, Nyaya is the school of logic and epistemology. It believes in a systematic investigation of the nature of things through logic
      4) Vaisheshika: Founded by Kanada Rishi, Vaisheshika is a naturalist school of atomism and believes in a detailed enumeration of the universe’s physical realities
      5) Mimamsa: Jaimini’s Mimamsa Sutras form the basis of this school. It emphasizes the ritualistic aspects of the Vedas and the power of the mantras
      6 ) Vedanta: Based on the Brahma Sutras of Badarayana or Vyasa, Vedanta is the school of Upanishadic philosophy. It explores the concepts of Brahman (ultimate reality) and Atman (individual soul)
      These six schools of thought offer unique perspectives and paths towards the ultimate reality, each with its own philosophical underpinnings
      As for the great philosophies of ancient India, they include both orthodox (astika) systems, namely, the Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Samkhya, Yoga, Purva-Mimamsa (or Mimamsa), and Vedanta schools of philosophy, and unorthodox (nastika) systems, such as Buddhism and Jainism3. These philosophies have been concerned with various philosophical problems, significant among which are the nature of the world (cosmology), the nature of reality (metaphysics), logic, the nature of knowledge (epistemology), ethics, and the philosophy of religion
      --->Ancient India was home to several schools of thought that did not believe in the existence of God. Here are some of them:
      1) Charvaka (Lokayata): This school of Indian materialism is considered one of the atheistic schools in the Hindu tradition. It rejected the authority of the Vedas and the notion of an afterlife, advocating for a hedonistic life
      2) Samkhya: While it is an orthodox (Astika) school of Hindu philosophy, Samkhya denies the existence of God or any other exterior influence. However, unlike other atheist schools of thought, it did not deny the existence of all things transcendent
      3) Purva Mimamsa: This school, while accepting the authority of the Vedas, typically rejects a personal god, creator god, or a god with attributes
      4 ) Ajñana: This was a skeptical school of ancient Indian philosophy. The Ajñana were the skeptics of their time and questioned the reliability of all sources of knowledge
      5) Buddhism and Jainism: While these are not typically classified as atheistic schools, they do not advocate for the worship of gods and instead focus on personal spiritual development
      6) Nagarjuna, who lived around the 2nd century CE, is widely considered one of the most important Buddhist philosophers. He is traditionally regarded as the founder of the Madhyamaka (“Middle Way”) school, an important tradition of Mahayana Buddhist philosophy
      Here are some key teachings of Nagarjuna:
      Doctrine of Emptiness (Shunyata): Nagarjuna is best known for his doctrine of emptiness (shunyata), which he developed in his most famous work, the Mulamadhyamakakarika (“Fundamental Verses on the Middle Way”). This doctrine asserts that all phenomena are empty of “self-nature” or “essence”, meaning they have no independent reality apart from the causes and conditions from which they arise
      Two Truths Doctrine: Nagarjuna proposed the Two Truths Doctrine, which differentiates between conventional truth (the reality we experience in everyday life) and ultimate truth (the ultimate reality as understood by enlightened minds).
      Dependent Origination: Nagarjuna emphasized the concept of dependent origination, which states that all phenomena arise in dependence upon other phenomena
      Madhyamaka Philosophy: Nagarjuna’s Madhyamaka philosophy rejects all philosophical views and propositions, arguing that accepting any of them as ultimately true leads to suffering
      Mahayana Buddhism: Nagarjuna was a proponent of the Mahayana school, which emphasizes the idea of the bodhisattva, or one who seeks to become a Buddha. He defended the Mahayana sutras as the authentic word of the Buddha.
      Nagarjuna’s teachings have had a profound influence on the development of Buddhist thought, not only in India but also in East Asia and Tibet

      Well said. As a Pakistani ( with parents that were driven out of India for being Muslim ) - I must say that Pakistan’s politicians and leadership are narcissistic fools and like every backwards management company they are busy kicking rather than uplifting each other. I’m not sure if the future of Muslims would have been brighter if they had allowed to stay back. The issue is partly too much religious interference and partly a tribal backwards part of the British empire. Two bad combinations. Even now they are busy jailing and defaming their own leaders. Never seen such a society anywhere. It has to implode before a new thought or culture can emerge. Muslims everywhere are backwards. Except for architecture and calligraphy not much else going for it. The idea of a single United ummah is ingrained in all Muslims. They have just not figured out how to harness the unity for better good of the world. Much of Muslim world has been incessantly bombed for last 70 years as well by western powers. Atleast 7 countries bombed and uprooted. A mess.

    People in the Sanatan tradition "convert" or change their mode of worship all the time. In the same family, one member might be an Arya Samaji, another a Vaishnav, still another a Shaivite. It is no big deal even if someone becomes an atheist. But none of these "converts" pretend that their cultural ancestry is now different. Muslims are unique in this respect. After conversion, they pretend that they are somehow descended from or have a connection with Arab learning of the 7th Century.

    Sir you have misconceptions about HINDUTWA. Hindutwa is a philosophy of Living. Hindus culture is broad minded and liberal. India has never attacked any country, there is no place for expansion design . There are no instances of forcible conversion or destruction of relegious places of other relegion. Rather we have allowed others to settle down in the sub continent. On the contrary Islamic philosophy is contrary to Hindu Philosophy.

    Enjoyed this session and learnt more about your country Pakistan.
    You both are my favourite Pakistanis and I was delighted to see both of you on the same stage.
    I would like to tell Dr. Hoodboy that his thoughts about India going Pakistan way due to religious intolerance etc are not correct. It is true that in the last couple of decades religion here is becoming more prominent. But it cannot go into our blood. It will always remain on the surface. They can win the elections by using religion but for us religion and science is like oil and water. Not like Pakistan where you have made it like milk and water.
    You might have seen the pictures of ISRO scientists, majority of them were female. While working in space centre they come with Tilak on their foreheads and before any important operations do Pooja. And this worship is done for all the faiths including Muslim.
    Sir, I can tell you with very high confidence that India can never go Pakistan way, never.
    I hope some day I would be able to drive into Lahore or Islamabad or you be my guest in Bombay ( I still call it Bombay) and we could talk to each other face-to-face.
    Love from India!

      @@user-un2ve5eg7o The six Darshanas, also known as the six schools of Indian philosophy, are:
