and which SUV can make real offroad in this day and age? The only small affordable car that can into my eyes is the Suzuki Jimny. too Bad that they don't make them 4 seaters anymore.

We don't expect the Yaris to be a proper offroader, and it is a new car and you might be affraid to scratch it, but why label the video "off road" then? Any lowered sedan even with low profile tires would have done the exact same thing the Yaris did in this video.

Hi, Sergiusz! Thank you! The panoramic roof is worth all the money. I haven't driven a normal model, without the panoramic roof so I cannot comment on the differences. But, from what I saw so far in other people's reviews, they all complain about the noise in the cabin at high speeds. It is a bit noisier than my VW Polo gen 6, but mainly due to the fact that the noise comes from the rear wheels - the luggage compartment has only a cloth cover, unlike other cars that have a hard plastic cover intended to contain the noise inside the luggage compartment. Though the cloth cover it's more logical as it allows you to place larger luggage and besides - it can be easily folded. Also, they complain about the thermal engine starting at high revs. For those that are not accustomed to the hybrid system, it is pretty noisy, but you get used to it over time. I drove it at 180km/h last week, in my opinion, the sound in the cabin was OK, once the thermal engine settled, I couldn't hear it anymore. Just the sounds coming from the wheels, but of course, it all depends also on the tires you have. Pretty stable at those speeds, keeping in mind that it's a car with a high wheelbase. Overall I say it's worth the money, especially with all the safety systems on it and all the little extras. The 4*4 version should make a difference for those living in problematic areas with frequent rains or snow.

However, I will probably update my order by adding the panoramic roof which looks great and adds light in the cabin. My impressions on the test drive were positive. There wasn't much noise up to 120 km/h, more at 140 km/h, but that wasn't as dramatic as some vloggers describe. Toyota salesman in my town also informed me that Yaris Cross produced in 2022 will have improved soundproofing - better seals in the rear doors.
@@sergiusz1629 If they will improve the sealing, I guess I have to do it too, I noticed rumbling noises in the doors when the audio system is turned up loud. :D I will have the opportunity to go on the highway again, today and as I have passengers, I will film the noise and make another video.
Hi ,i would like to order this car with panoramic view but they informed me that it cannot be closed with pannels or anything so it provokes temperature increase inside the cabin during the sunny days, is it true or not;
@@mariapoliti4206 not true. It has some shaders on the inside, that can be retracted if you want sun inside, or fixed in the middle to cover the entire panoramic roof.

Salut, Ionut! Atat cat am apucat sa o scot pe drumurile forestiere (cca 50 km), mi se pare destul de bine inchegata. Nu imi place in schimb cum suna usile la inchidere, este sunetul acela de tabla subtire si am observat ca la volum mare al muzicii, din afara masinii se aud trepidatiile. Dupa cum spunea cineva in comenturi, inteleg ca deja se ia in calcul o insonorizare in zona aceea. Dar per total masina sta foarte bine. Zilele trecute am facut Transalpina si pe o portiune mica am luat niste gropi zdravene. Dar a trecut cu brio prin ele. Plus ca 4*4 a intrat destul de des pe o portiune buna de drum, unde se depusese zapada si practic nu am simtit nici o abatere de la trasa. Sunetul de rulare la viteze mari (de autostrada) a rotilor spate a disparut cand am avut portbagajul plin, ceea ce ma face sa am certitudinea ca un capac de plastic ar fi izolat mai bine decat panza aceea din spate. Per total eu sunt super multumit de alegere si abia astept weekendul sa o duc din nou la zapada. :)

Excellent video mate, I just watched where it was tested on rollers and the i-awd yaris cross did poorly, how do you find it in actual use, looks pretty good to me as you have shown 😀 is it worth the money? Ps thanks for showing us this 👍
One year later, impressions: last weekend, I took it on one of the worst roads ever experienced by me. It did its job just fine, no problem at all. I also saw that video. I am still conflicted, but I think, for the most part, it is a good choice.
Where is the off road part? You never drove off road in this video. Non tarmac is not "offroad". The roads where very level, any sedan could have done the same, possibly with less bumps and more comfortable. Hell, even a lowered sports car would have faired pretty well on these dirt roads. Not even a tiny stone to be found.
Same, I don't mean to be critical but this isn't off road, it's just a good quality unsealed road - any city car will drive on that no problem. We need a proper off road test, one where a normal car would get stuck.

But when ı tried the vehicle it was a premiere and the screen was bigger than yours. But ı am not quiet sure about that. I really don't like the media screen, it's junky, too old in appearance, and hard to press/touch while driving. The rear camera it's a low-resolution one. The menu it's not that intuitive (I am saying this coming from a VW Polo 2017 media screen). Might be improved with updates in time, but I still couldn't figure out some options I have. But overall it does its intended job and you don't have to wait too long for the car to arrive (as it's the case with other brands), or even to be delivered with analog displays and then refitted when available... It happens these days. :)

E foarte interesant faptul ca masinuta asta are niste elemente de "off road" pe care de exemplu rav4 nu le are, indiferent de dotare. Hill descent control si unghiurile de atac si degajare mai bune sunt unele dn aceste elemente. Drumuri bune!

4.7 e media. Drum scurt, nu apuca sa isi intre motorul in regimul normal. Ccca 4 km, dimineata si inca 4 pe la ora 17 :). Am scos si mai putin daca am condus eu si nu iubita, cu atentie la talpa, in modul Eco si in stil de condus "coasting" am scos si 3.5. La drum intins, intre localitati poate sa coboare si mai jos, avem colegi pe grup[ul dedicat care au scos si 2.8. Pe autostrada consuma mai mult daca sta peste 110. Un drum Rm. Valcea - Bucuresti - Isaccea a fost facut cu 6.5 litri media, fara a avea grija la talpi si cu autostrada si pe la 160km/h. Eu zic ca e foarte bun consumul, fata de ce am condus pana cum.

@@mgz9999 I upgraded from 2wd to AWD after the first drive of the AWD. The price difference it's not so high and for me it makes sense. If you're not living in an area where snow or heavy rains are the norm, or if you are not taking it off roads often, then it's not worth the upgrade. It's a correct deal keeping in mind all the extras it has, both security and comfort-wise. The trunk of the AWD version is smaller, indeed, for me is no problem. But it should help the cloth cover that comes with the car, which allows you to place larger luggage in a vertical position. Beneath the floor of the trunk, there is also a plastic support which I believe can be removed (I'll look into it within the next few days), thus making it larger on a vertical scale. For me made sense to upgrade to this version since my girlfriend works for the company that owns the dealership and cut a pretty good deal, a VAT deduction, the hybrid discount from the state, and the drive-test car discount.

Here snow every winter, sometimes few, sometimes a lot, and we're close to the mountain so skiing is a common sport. Let's say the AWD would be useful for me once a year, that day is snowing a lot and you are going to mountain. Is not a lot, but is enough to make difference from having a car accident or not. Honestly, I'd choose for the AWD but I'm also looking for a family car (3 people, one child), so I need some trunk space in order to move for holidays or for weekend. So my real point is I'd like to take the AWD but the trunk is small for my needs 😕
@@mgz9999 I see, then maybe you should look for another brand or I think that RAV4 would be a better solution to your demands. If it meets the budget. I also visited my cousin a week ago, he has a one-year-old child and he loved the car but the conclusion was their 3 members family luggage won't fit in, especially with the baby stroller in consideration. :(
ba da mai si respira nu tot vorbi atata ca nu ni se aud gandurile. oricum e praf masina asta. am facut si eu un drive test cu ea si motorashu de parbriz (5cp) pe care l-au pus pe puntea spate e desincronizat rau de tot. mi-a fugit spatele de doua ori pe asfalt uscat la viteze sub 50 in 3km de condus. plus ca extraurban peste 70 km/h nu mai tragte decat cu rugaciuni. i chose duster all day long.
Ne cunoastem de ne vorbim la modul asta? Ti-a fugit spatele probabil pendtru ca nu ai gumele potrivite temperaturii de afara. Si depinde si ce asteptari ai de la o masina cu garda la sol inalta. Motorul de pe puntea spate isi face treaba pentru care a fost montat acolo, am testat-o zilele acestea, atat pe asfalt ud, unde sincer nu am simtit nevoia de 4*4, cat si pe gheata, zapada si noroi. In dreapta, langa cotiera ai un buton mare pe care daca apesi, poti seta masina in modurile "Snow" si "Trail". Sunt diferente majore fata de modul normal de condus. Din nou, pentru extraurban, ai modul "Power" acolo unde ai nevoie de cuplu sporit. Sa nu uitam totusi ca modelul asta nu poate fi comparat cu un Duster, dotat mult inferior si destinat unei alte piete... Asteptam si Dusterul Hybrid, pana atunci comparam mere cu pere. Desi sunt tot fructe, au niste diferente intre ele. ;) Cat despre respiratie, iti recomand modul "Mute" de pe tastatura. Functioneaza ca butonul ala mare de pe consola centrala, iti adapteaza parcursul la conditii. Bine, exista si posibilitatea sa mergi mai departe. :) La multi ani!
@@CatalinColniceanu orice cauciucuri ai avea tot nu are voie sa fuga spatele la viteze sub 50 pe asfalt uscat. drive testul s-a intamplat in noiembrie la temp peste +10 grade. raman la parerea mea, masina e praf in extraurban, doar in oras e ok. nu dau un duster pe 10 din astea supra tranzistorizate.

"Off road" is where you take a normal city car sedan and it gets stuck. Find one of those roads and take the Yaris there so we can see how it fares!

If you're not living in an area where snow or heavy rains are the norm, or if you are not taking it off roads often, then it's not worth the upgrade. It's a correct deal keeping in mind all the extras it has, both security and comfort-wise. The trunk of the AWD version is smaller, indeed, for me is no problem. But it should help the cloth cover that comes with the car, which allows you to place larger luggage in a vertical position. Beneath the floor of the trunk, there is also a plastic support which I believe can be removed (I'll look into it within the next few days), thus making it larger on a vertical scale. For me made sense to upgrade to this version since my girlfriend works for the company that owns the dealership and cut a pretty good deal, a VAT deduction, the hybrid discount from the state, and the drive-test car discount.
@@CatalinColniceanu thanks for this long and organic answer. About AWD/2WD I live in Torino, north of Italy. Here snow every winter, sometimes few, sometimes a lot, and we're close to the mountain so skiing is a common sport. Let's say the AWD would be useful for me once a year, that day is snowing a lot and you are going to mountain. Is not a lot, but is enough to make difference from having a car accident or not. Honestly, I'd choose for the AWD but I'm also looking for a family car (3 people, one child), so I need some trunk space in order to move for holidays or for weekend. So my real point is I'd like to take the AWD but the trunk is small for my needs 😕
@@mgz9999 I see, then maybe you should look for another brand or I think that RAV4 would be a better solution to your demands. If it meets the budget. I also visited my cousin a week ago, he has a one-year-old child and he loved the car but the conclusion was their 3 members family luggage won't fit in, especially with the baby stroller in consideration. :(

ba da mai si respira nu tot vorbi atata ca nu ni se aud gandurile. oricum e praf masina asta. am facut si eu un drive test cu ea si motorashu de parbriz (5cp) pe care l-au pus pe puntea spate e desincronizat rau de tot. mi-a fugit spatele de doua ori pe asfalt uscat la viteze sub 50 in 3km de condus. plus ca extraurban peste 70 km/h nu mai tragte decat cu rugaciuni. i chose duster all day long.
Ne cunoastem de ne vorbim la modul asta? Ti-a fugit spatele probabil pendtru ca nu ai gumele potrivite temperaturii de afara. Si depinde si ce asteptari ai de la o masina cu garda la sol inalta. Motorul de pe puntea spate isi face treaba pentru care a fost montat acolo, am testat-o zilele acestea, atat pe asfalt ud, unde sincer nu am simtit nevoia de 4*4, cat si pe gheata, zapada si noroi. In dreapta, langa cotiera ai un buton mare pe care daca apesi, poti seta masina in modurile "Snow" si "Trail". Sunt diferente majore fata de modul normal de condus. Din nou, pentru extraurban, ai modul "Power" acolo unde ai nevoie de cuplu sporit. Sa nu uitam totusi ca modelul asta nu poate fi comparat cu un Duster, dotat mult inferior si destinat unei alte piete... Asteptam si Dusterul Hybrid, pana atunci comparam mere cu pere. Desi sunt tot fructe, au niste diferente intre ele. ;)
Cat despre respiratie, iti recomand modul "Mute" de pe tastatura. Functioneaza ca butonul ala mare de pe consola centrala, iti adapteaza parcursul la conditii. Bine, exista si posibilitatea sa mergi mai departe. :)

@@CatalinColniceanu orice cauciucuri ai avea tot nu are voie sa fuga spatele la viteze sub 50 pe asfalt uscat. drive testul s-a intamplat in noiembrie la temp peste +10 grade. raman la parerea mea, masina e praf in extraurban, doar in oras e ok. nu dau un duster pe 10 din astea supra tranzistorizate.
@@CatalinColniceanu chestia cu respiratu era o ironie. is chiar naspa reviewurile auto in care nu zici nika. mai este un prostalan care face clipuri cu dustere in offroad si nu zice un cuvant. de kkt acest soi de clipuri.
