    Funny timing! I just played against a Chaos Dwarf team yesterday! It was a really nicely painted original GW metal models. So cool to see them and the new Black Orcs plastics side by side.

    The glorious sunshine of Chaos Dwarfs, that slow grinding sound of of your skull being dragged along in the wake of those Chorf victories 👹
    One Centaur as a ball handling hero, his cohort will take the roll of Killing Machine 👹

    A tear rolled down my eye when I saw this as I once owned that Citadel Chaos Dwafs Renegade box.

    So, Games Workshop.
    Why do bull centaurs not have horns?
    The models clearly do, what gives?

      Hahaha, maybe the Hats balance out the horns?!

    Great pod. Almost makes me want to take a mino for my first BB2020 Tournament. Question for you: Why not break tackle on BC? In BB2016-BB2, my first skill for BC is always block but on my second BC, it is always BT. Even if you can only use it once, you already have so much block and it gives you 1) a great sweeper on DEF that won't get a tie down to chase down a runaway and 2) makes a possible sneaky hand off for a BT dodge for the enzone when a quick score is needed.

      Break tackle got nerfed in BB2020. Now it gives +1 on dodge roll if your player is ST3-4 or +2 if it's ST 5-6, so dodge to open field with 3+ instead of 2+ previously.
      Still a fair choice imo, but clearly not as good as before

    Unfortunately in the FAQ they say that your opponent gets to choose if they use Piledriver on an Animal Savagery hit. This makes it feel really dangerous to ever take a Random Strength skill on players with this Negatrait since it makes failing Animal Savagery far far worse.

    Chorf Blockers are worse at passing than regular dwarf blockers. Bull Centaurs are cool, but the change to the Break Tackle rules has really messed with them. Changes to Claw have helped the team loads, though.

    Great video as always:) Because of it I've bought a Chaos Dwarf Team from Greebo and use it in a league. I found out it is a dice agnostic team when played carefully. Going this route maybe it is not spectacular but very efficient. Playting to their strengths is key. For me Blockers is as You have described Guard, Mighty Blow and something more exotic to taste (I've played a random roll on strength and got Pile Driver which is hilarious and puts direction on how this dwarf would evolve:)). Bull Centaurs need Block. After it I would say either Dodge or Break Tackle. Sometimes it could be beneficial to have Tackle (and play such centaur as a safety when defending), it depends on the league. Hobgoblins cheap and cheerful. Any mainstream skill is worth it. random general is ok unless You roll Shadowing (I did...). Minotaurs are not worth considering in early stage. They are unpredictable as all big guys. When they are on the floor they become useless (4+ to do anything beside blitz..) and they have mutations on secondary. If this is primary, well ok but on secondary it is a bummer. If You like Minotaur it is either early Juggernaught or saving for Block or Jump Up. This means a lot of killing needs to be made...
    I totally agree with a line of thinking -> ball handling is with rerolls, development is for killing and field position. This is why I'm not a fan of Sure Hands on a Hobgoblin (unless it is a random) not even talking about Centaurs here :) I use Centaurs for scoring to level up but I back them only with re-rolls not skills.

    How does drafting star players in leagues work? Can you get them from the start or do you have to draft a "normal" team first and then buy them before each game?

    • @JorisVDC
      @JorisVDC 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes they are an inducement for each game at a cost for each game.
      So they are a rare sight in leagues.

    2:50 I am surprised that you didn't manage Stand Firm as the perfect skill to add after Guard, which allows you to really dominate the ground game.
    Grab is nice offensively but Stand Firm is even better for cage corners. And it helps massively with keeping the line in place, so the opponent can't break through and exploit the weakness of Dwarves: lack of speed.
    I used to think that Blockers needed MB to be able to get a third skill but Guard Stand Firm is a perfect Blocker, he never really needs a third skill.
    I would like to build a killer or two with MB, Claw, two Guard Stand Firm, you can add Guard Grab into as well.
    Guard is the main skill however.

      Also a blood Bowl Coach I am obligated to say that Frenzy on a MA 4 piece isn't that good.
      Why? Because Frenzy makes you follow the player which you are blocking. Which tends to get the frenzy player our of position.
      With MA 4 this means that I might take 1-2 turn to get back into a relevant position.
      If you want Frenzy it's better on a bull centaur because they have the movement and the strength that allows you to frenzy blitz from the right angles to determine the end position and possibly push a player into the crowd.

    had my first league game in a very long time, never used Chaos dwarves before but WOW! I took 1 bull centaur who scored four td and a completion, He was all over the pitch! I took one Minotaur as I'm a sucker for the big guys and although his only spp was a MVP he held up half an undead team just being there. I won the game 4-0 those poor undead dudes just couldn't break the line!

    Blockers: guard/mighty blow is obviously best. I think you underrate how good stand firm is. Way more useful than frenzy or dauntless imo. Diving tackle and prehensile tail should be included as legit double options.
    Random mutation as a suggestion gets a full on eyeroll from me - mutations are mostly ball handling skills.
    Bull centaurs have one correct development path in second season imo: block, then stats until you roll +ST or +AG. Break tackle still comes out, but only after you roll AG or ST. Worst case, you build up to a movement 8 bull.
    Hobgoblins random general is right.
    Minotaurs....you'll hate this, but chaos dwarfs are better without minotaurs, even of the enslaved genus. Waste of tv on a team with two great blitzers. If you insist on taking one, just take block.

    When a lineman from another team is a positional on another and makes them super good. Dwarf Blockers are broken haha! They seriously need to fix this one positional.
    Guard then MB then Claw on every piece.
    Also, Bull Centaurs start with 2 Secondary skills that work brilliantly in tandem. Nerf them with Sure Feet removed. Done.

    • @deckerCKY
      @deckerCKY 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You realize that bull centaurs are more expensive than wardancers and mummies, and literally just received a major nerf, right? Losing sure feet would just mean they don't get taken anymore.

    • @MangoFandangoBB
      @MangoFandangoBB 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deckerCKY Know any other piece in BB that starts with 2 Secondary skills?
      Rat Ogre = Frenzy, Tail
      Beast/Rotspawn = DP, FA, Tents
      Chorf Mino = Frenzy, Horns
      Errr... Yeah! Just the Bull Centaur being the only piece in the whole of BB starting with 2 Secondary skills WITHOUT a negatrait.
      The only "major" nerf to BCs is the nerf to Break Tackle. Give them Blodge (easy to do) and MB + Tackle and you have a formidable piece on the flank on D. On offense as a ball carrier, who is gonna stop them with a cage of ST3 Guard, BB, Tackle, Blockers? Any coach would be foolish NOT to start with 2 BCs. BCs are more expensive than WDs and Mummies for a reason: MA9 with a 1/36 turnover is Gutter Runner speed 97.2% of the time with the strength of a Saurus. No brainer that they're expensive.
      Chaos Dwarfs are in need of nerfing. The Blockers first by scrapping the premium Block+Tackle set, then the removal of Sure Feet on the Centaurs. Rebalance done.

    Chaos Dwarf Blockers with +AV and Iron Hard Skin anyone? I'd guess that might be pretty common in the BB3. Instead if getting CPOMB you get 11+ armor that are immune to claw for the chaos and Chaos Dwarf teams in the eternal leagues. I can see someone building a Chorf team with 6 x 11+ armor, Iron hard skin, jump up, guard, defence and stand firm. Just to be the definition of the immovable object ^^
    Sure it's gonna take forever but in BB3 there is most def gonna be someone that really really likes to get in the way of the fun for everyone else ;)

    • @mattellis3297
      @mattellis3297 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd like that more then the old pcomb build. Iv always thought chaos dwarfs should have a great offensive line which leads them to having a equally good run game. I feel like that's better reflected in your suggestions.

    • @hampuskullberg9932
      @hampuskullberg9932 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattellis3297 I agree, the high tv games tended to be more slaughter house and less creative plays. Not that fun for anyone that doesnt have mutation access imho. BB2020 is gonna be alot different with no PO and the nerfs to claw and I like it :)
      However Chorfs can now be even worse road blocks than regular dorfs which might make them even more disliked xD

    • @deckerCKY
      @deckerCKY 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +av and iron hard skin is a double and a stat....don't have the book in front of me for the exact amount, but that over 30 spp on a player without mighty blow.
      +Av is awesome for the tv, in a vacuum. It's the spp cost that makes it an unrealistic development strategy to pursue.

    • @hampuskullberg9932
      @hampuskullberg9932 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deckerCKY indeed but it's more of an end goal for BB3 than for tabletop. The idea was not to be very good at removing but to be impossible to move or remove ^^
