Howdy, I have a question. I found a little Oliver twist figure. Stamped at bottom: IVOREX Made in England. Just found info online stating its one of the rarest of the group. Any help would be extremely helpful. Thanks, your awesome. Learned so much from ya!!
The first book (Caroline) is my listing. I found the book in a free box and thought it looked old. Had no idea it’s value until I looked it up when I got home. The buyer said her mother read it to her when she was little and she was overjoyed to find another copy. ❤
I've got a first edition Wizard of Oz and a couple of Dr Seuss first editions too. The ONE book that I wish I still had though, was my signed first edition Dune. Had to sell it to pay for a surgery for my dog.😢 He's worth it though. That book saved my dogs life. Got almost 2 grand for it...❤
I absolutely adore old books! And so does my little boy. We were in a thrift store (UK) the other day and he excitedly said "I can smell old books!" sure enough, there were a box of childrens annuals from the 1960/70s. Only £1 each! He was so happy! Stumbled on your channel by chance but youve got a new subscriber now!
I’ve always thought artwork in old children’s books is beautiful! The vibrant colors are still as crisp 50+ years later with superb details, always eye catching! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and wisdom! Greatly appreciated!
I always come back to your channel. I have been trying to go through our house that we inherited that has been in my husband's family since coming over here on ships from Germany. And over that time they all saved so much. Thank you again for sharing and giving us your time . Hugs
Thank you. I have many old children's books, and cook books. You encourage me to dig them out, to research, and then try to sell them.Thank you. Proud Patreon Supporter!
The Velveteen Rabbit book goes for around £3 to £6 in the UK, UK people won't pay next to nothing for these books. That's probably the reason why most people in the UK send their books to the charity shops or in the recycling bins. I've said many times that the USA population will pay crazy money for things that are worth next to nothing here in the UK. Thank you, Don. Charles in the UK
I started collecting tons of books children's books from Thrift store. People are literally getting rid of tens and tens of beautifully Illustrated books. I picked them up with the intention to sell but I just keep stacking them up because they're so beautiful and old I fell in love with these beautiful old books
Thanks for the awesome information you are sharing with us. I have just started to thrift. Your information has opened a new world of knowledge about antique and everything else. Thanks again, sir.
Where are you finding the listings for this books like on eBay Amazon like what because I have a lot of kids books and I have a lot of kids books from back in the day
Where do you get the values for these items!??? I have many books that my son had, he's in his 30's. I have a lot of books and toys, etc., that i can sell, wanting to start selling in July or August. I have a lot of learning to do!!! 😊😊😊
Good to know, but yeah, you're right. I want to keep these when I find them. I currently have a half dozen of the white Oz books, several Dr. Seuss 1sts, James and the Giant Peach (haven't found Charlie yet, but I did read it 50 years ago), and a Grimm's Fairy Tales book that bring back too many memories for me to want to sell. Best I can do is put notes in them of what they're currently worth for my heirs to find. They'll pay for a nice party at my funeral. 😀
What do you think of the poetry book! “Some Fancies in Verse” by Mary Pettus Thomas? She had only two copies published. One is located at the New York Library located on the teleprompter, you are not aloud to hold. Mary Pettus Thomas drew all the art work on both books. You can still purchase copies online. So where is the second book? And how much is the original book worth?
ugh, Disney's commercialization of children's classic literature turns my stomach. I'm a real luddite when it comes to kid's books----still, I enjoyed this video, thanks very much.
Hi Don, a quick question, I have 2500 Little Golden Books. Would you suggest some sites to sell books?? Also have many historical, tons of Historical books. 90% First Edition with Jacket. I have Presidents, Clinton and girlfriend, etc.. You get the picture!! Thank you very much.
I cannot find my book - Mulocks Fairy Tales Illustrated- hardcover by Dina Craik Mulock- ( John Halifax -Gentleman) pub by W.L Allison of New York and wrritten obviously before her death in the late 1800s- One interesting note- the first loose page - is a sentence in blue pen saying - Miss Agatha Robertson Books- 1908 - seen all kinds on line but not this publisher or as old...
I'm a new viewer of your videos - I especially enjoyed this one on vintage children's books. I'm am searching for you on Ebay and coming up with nil - can you help me out?
The price crossed out is because someone made a best offer and the seller accepted it. As a personal rule of thumb I find that most sellers with buy it now will go 10% to 20% off. So if the selling price is lined out I generally figure a $500 item sold for $400 to $450.
I have "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll, It's so old it doesn't have a date. It's a small dark red cloth book! it says J. H. Sears & Co. Printed and bound by the Kingsport Press in Kingsport Tenn. Anyone have an idea?
Seller beware, i found a 1 am ed of dr jeckel and mr hyde 1896, out before eng ed. T took it to a very classy book store in Los Angeles, an aba member. The dealer told me no this is not the first ed and offered me 65.00, even after much research and still believing i was correct, i sold it. I also signedup for mailing listfor catalogs. The very next month i received the catalog, only to see my book for 25.hundred, explaining the same fact i told him, my cooy was true first ed so he lied and cheated me . He had also bought a few others from me that day, thats another story.

I've never hated my trait as a "purger" more than I do when I watch your videos 😅
I’m absolutely hooked on this type series you’re producing. Every single one is on point and follows a very nice format for us the viewers to follow.

Nostalgia is big
same goes here in Australia; I've sold $$$ things to US collectors that Australian market won't give me $10 for.
What about a first edition first printing of this book? But no dust jacket

I did the same, always planning to sell but instead I just build more bookshelves.
My 7 year old son picked 1st edition ‘If I Ran A Zoo’ from one of those tiny free libraries. His best pick yet!
Appreciate this video so much. I love selling books but children books I’m not experienced with. Thank you!

When the asked-for price is crossed out, how do we know what it actually sold for?

Terapeak lists the actual price that an item sold for, as well as the amount the buyer paid for shipping.
@@MissPreciousLove Can you tell me more about Terapeak? Is it a website or app or something?

New subscriber. Great video!
Love childrens books! 😉👍❤
I have a lot of rare and old children books a lot of Dr. Seuss and a lot of Alice and wonderland
Thank you for your knowledge priceless
I can only imagine how many of these gems went out in the trash over the years. Such a waste.
We have that book the millions of cats my mom read that to us all the time
Imagine one of them would be Dr. Seuss.😎🇺🇸
Welp...🤔...I just never see anything like that, but like I always say, I'll be keeping my eyes👀peeled for such...🤘🏼💯✔️
I would look at what the books are sold for. The condition matters and if the book smells has smoke damage. You really have to have some experience

You may find and post a very valuable book, but some knucklehead will sell the same book for $5.00.
But theirs and take it off the market 😂
I was of the impression that eBay banned Dr Seuss books?
I found Charlie & the chocolate factory with dust jacket at an estate sale about a month go for .50 cents! Score!!!
