I like in the middle of your video when you remind everyone to stay hydrated, your drink of choice “Liquid Death!” Definitely got a chuckle out of me with that. Lol
I just love the humble way Kyle acts when explaining how to do things, like anyone of us could do what he does. Spoiler Alert: Most of us cannot do the amazing things you see on this channel😂😅
Absolutely. Pretty disappointed I took so long to start doing it! There some high gloss builds I've done in the past that would have benefitted from it
Per Upol (Raptor Liner) it can be applied directly on wood as well as several other surfaces without primer. Makes a good bond. I will say I've moved these around a few times with a dolly with no issues. Even bumped a cherry picker into the dual 21 box, it scratches the paint off the cherry picker 😂
Thanks for the informative vid. You had mentioned that you made ~6 passes of the diluted glue over each seam. Did you wait for the glue to dry between each pass?
Ah, excellent question. I did not wait for it to completely dry. I just waiting until it was tacky. It was pretty warm that day too, so it dried fairly quickly, but I was able to cover everything with 5 or 6 coats in about 30-45 min I'd say.
Been pretty busy lately... I'm finishing up an edit on a 42u theater rack then I'll be doing the painting and install video on these. Hopefully next week sometime. Spoiler, if you are willing and able to spray vs roll, Raptor liner is much better than duratex...
@@LifeofBliss Thanks for the great video. I'm about to do 4 of the evo 24" cabs - do you think the 6-quart raptor kit would be enough for the rough finish like you did? Too much/no enough?
I think 6 should be sufficient. I did 2 full cover coats on the 3 boxes I did, and the dual cabs are bigger than the 24 box. Did that with 8. And second thought... I'd grab 8. You'd hate to run out or not quite get the last box done. Figure 1 quart per box per coat
GSG just DROPPED prices and shipping both by 10-13%! Check out what they have to offer here bit.ly/GSGAudioshop

😅 thanks Marc. It was so dang hot when I was down there working, figured it was a funny little break in the video

Anything is possible... if you believe in yourself!! And lots of practice...
It’s all about persistence.
Water and wood glue is absolutely my favorite way to prep MDF for paint, and it’s cheaper than sanding sealer.

Great work.
Now I only know automotive but I think lacquer primer would be good to lay down (and sand flat) before final paint is applied.

I'd give it a good 3+ hours to dry before sanding btw. Just make sure it's completely dry before that
@@LifeofBliss thanks for the prompt response 👍🏻
nice work ...

Great video but where's part 2? I'm on that stage as well
