Cradle Catholic here, didn't really know the how's and the why's of the church, but was baptized, received first Holy Communion and confirmed; thanks to my parents. But I didn't really know Jesus, the Bible etc. I knew to pray to God if I wanted something! I knew that I had to go to confession and Mass. In my early 30's I visited evangelical churches because I thought that it was dead in the Catholic church and I became interested in Jesus and started reading the Bible. I was ready to make the decision to leave the church ......BUT somehow didnt .....couldn't: and I didn't know why I couldn't. So I stayed. Only later I realised that it was God's will for me stay in the church. It was the Holy Spirit who kept me in the church. Now I read my Bible regularly, I pray more and I have a relationship with my Saviour. I found him in the Catholic church! Thank you Jesus! I LOVE my church, the one true church.

It was Ignatius who wrote to the church re having nothing to do with those who deny the Eucharist is the body and blood of Jesus Christ not Polycarp as I stated.

Very interesting listen, i actually thought catholics didnt believe in salvation only through Jesus, i wonder about things like purgatory? Or praying for the dead? There is also great resources at organisations like Catholic Answers which you can look up on both TH-cam and internet. Welcome home brother! I entered the church November 2019 aged 62 after a lifetime in the evangelical world. Grateful for all I learned as an evangelical but glad to be home at last after years of my faith being built on the shifting sands of men’s opinions now it is built on the rock! Praise God.

protestants don't have the Eucharist - they can celebrate the 'communion' rite as many times they want, they won't be receiving the Body Blood Sould and divinity of Jesus Christ - and that means that they have not life in them, as Jesus taught

I believe it’s the Holy Spirit and God himself that leads a soul back to the church God himself left us which is the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I never thought I would leave evangelicalism and return to the Catholic Church but God himself brought me home. The Bible was put together by the Counsels of the Catholic Church with the Holy Spirit leading the Pope and the Magisterium. God did not let his church go off the rails for 1300 years until the Reformers got it right. Changes needed to happen but an abandonment of Gods one true church did not need to happen and it’s been separation with the body weakened by the reformation it’s a great tragedy. I pray all Christians to become Catholic and to feast on Christs body and blood in the Eucharist. That’s the backbone of our faith. God be with you ❤
Brother. Thank you for your testimony. For me it’s coming to an understanding of the Sacraments that has been so transformative. For me the combination of Word, Spirit and Sacrament is so powerful. I was confirmed into the Anglican Church in 2021 after 16 years away from the faith. Prior to 2004 I served in Pentecostal, Charismatic and Non-charismatic circles.
Been waiting for this. In the meanwhile I have been devouring early church, church fathers also some eucarist information. It is becoming clear to me I have belief about Catholicism that is incorrect. I am beginning to feel a longing to take part in the eucarist and attend a mass. I’ve been disallusioned by the Catholic Church , but I realise it’s more about individuals , groups who have hijacked it and his there evil behind the catholic cloak . Roman Catholicism is a Medieval religion that focuses on sin and the avoidance of sin. Was this Jesus' focus? Absolutely not! When He preached, He spoke to the people and even fed them. He didn't teach scripture. With Jesus it is all about the person. With Roman Catholicism it is all about obedience, sitting in a pew, watching ceremony, focusing on catechism and scripture. Roman Catholic priests are all about vestments, religious artifacts, catechisms and scriptures, and getting their followers in a pew every Sunday. I give Catholicism ten years. Young people refuse to darken the door of a church once they leave the family nest!!!
I’m concerned about you. I think you may be focusing more on feelings rather than truth. God’s word is truth. I don’t understand how you can be part of the Catholic Church whose leader the pope says that all religions lead to God/heaven. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth & the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. This is at odds with what the Pope is now teaching. Search the Scriptures, for in them you find eternal life.

I understand that the pope is a human being who makes mistakes, but he is also the global head of the RC church. As such he should be very careful about what he says publicly, as should anyone with a public profile. Of course there are errors elsewhere. But that does not alter the Biblical truth that Jesus is the only way to God, the only truth, the only source of spiritual life. The pope saying that we use religions like language is wrong. We are warned about being deceived. We are told to watch. Please examine the word of God. If your foundations are not solid on the word, you are on shaky ground.

It is obvious that people like you who want a ceremonial religion are looking at ceremony, vestments, candles, incense, etc. as the most important part of the faith experience. Where does charity, love, outreach - all Jesus things - fit into your Catholic experience??? God is our Father and loves us like a father! We don't earn that love! It is automatic! Ceremonies, etc. are part of the artistic, cultural aspect of the Catholic faith. Is ceremony what Jesus taught when He was on Earth??? Young people refuse to enter a church once they move out of the family nest! They recognize that everything is about charity, love, and outreach and not about ceremony!
