In this episode we continue with replacement of the boiler tank in our Hydro-Hot system. @ALongLongWaytoGO @CampPrevost www.heatmyrv.com/ www.motorhomes...
Thank you for making this video. My unit is leaking and I hope it is not the seam but this helped give me a better understanding of what to look for and what my future may have in store for me.
Wow, great work! My electric never worked but found it was the high limit. Now that it works, I find it really easy to use and provides enough heat for quick showers. I turn it on about 45 minutes or so before a shower and is always hot. I haven’t used the diesel burner for much besides heating the coach now.
I can just say…the WHOLE…electric side was FUBAR !!!…Its a wonder what you find in these older coaches that have gone by-passed or rigged from previous owners.
I applaud you also. Why did you take it apart? I am doing the same on my Hydro hot as my domestic hot water coil failed, I am attempting to cut the coil out of the tank and reweld the tank ....or do I replace the tank...is it available ?
Mine was leaking boiler fluid due to a crack in the main boiler tank. Yes rebuilt tanks are available or new ones ( ouch ) Several sources out there for parts…but I do recommend John Carrillo ( Heatmyrv.com ) great people.
So is it impossible to remove the fittings that go into the tank? They look threaded with pipe dope but I didn’t want to risk breaking where they meet. Ideas?
It is very nerve racking to remove the fittings if your using the existing tank and replacing a fitting. The tubes in the tank are VERY fragile and they will break off extremely easy. I used a back up wrench on everything and worked very slowly and patiently to get the fittings out for insulation replacement. It can be done. But be VERY careful. I really appreciate you watching. I’m here for moral support if you need it. Ask anything you may need and I’ll try my best to assist.

Thank you. Seems a daunting job…it really wasn’t that bad.
I'm gonna start calling you Professor Hydro! Man that looks fantastic. Pat your back on this one you earned it!
LOL….I thought about it…definitely a crash course. But $8000……no way man.
Good Lord what a job!
Nutt’n too it……I would do it again!!!!…NOT !!!
