Save your glass jars from pickles, salsa, (all sizes), remove old labels or even buy a dozen pint/quart canning jars. Glass is better than plastic for food storage, it's easy to see what's in the jar. Easy to store jars. Put a piece of masking tape on lid, label & date (potato soup 8/27/24) If it gets lost in the fridge as sometimes happens; the date will tell you how old it is. The very small jars are good for those bits of diced onion, peppers, shredded cheese. I like this way a lot.
Doc Mandel never wast people's time talking, he goes straight to the point. Every of his video are just short and so concised!!! But others are full if bla, bla, bla, bla..... so far Doc I started freezing before following your video. Thank God for the rught thing

I am wondering about something, but first want to THANK YOU for making such a positive difference in my life and my loved ones with your videos! ✨ I wonder. If I buy previously frozen bread is it still necessary to refrigerate it overnight before toasting it the next day? My guess is no...
So eating frozen mashed potato and frozen chips, cooked, will in fact be good for you especially mixed with some frozen spinach. Which is what I ate tonight! That's why I only buy frozen mash potato now, and I keep my rice and grains in the fridge. 👍
@BonnieBlue2A I agree seed oils are not good especially in cooking at high temperatures. I don't buy them, I do buy frozen mash potatoes with a little added butter.
I wish all doctors knew what Dr Mandel knows..he is amazing !!! Thank you Dr. Mandel you all you do for us...the people you don't even know God bless and keep you well.😊❤❤😊😊
🤗That is such good news !!! We need to know what “portion control” looks like. How much pasta or carbs per meal is the correct amount for a person to consume. Half cup, ozs, etc. THANKS!
Dear Doctor Mandel, I am also a doctor, and I appreciate your teachings very much. I completely agree with the concept of refrigerated starch... But I would like to al you a question about a couple that after cooking the pasta they put this pasta in the fridge, and the following day they prepare the pasta with a fresh tomato sauce and parmesan chees. After some half an hour, both of them threw up the pasta and had diarrea... They are both overweight, and they are u used to eating pasta. Is there any explanation that you can think of to interpret this success...?
Hi guys, I am new to Dr. M. I am currently seeking information on how I can start the healing process of my peripheral nerves. I seen a wonderful video by Dr. M and have a few questions but do not know how to direct questions to him, does anybody have an email available for Dr. M or means of contact??
It blows my mind that people don’t know the difference between different kinds of carbs… I eat whole grains and pasta and rice, when I cook I make enough for leftovers for lunch the next Day and some to freeze. It’s a lifesaver. I actually just made fried rice with veggies for dinner and when I want to eat it again I’ll just pull a pack out of the freezer and then cook some scrambled eggs to put on top. Way better tasting and better for you than take out. It’s really not that much extra work to get three or more meals out if cooking once.
So, 1. cooek potatoes and rice as per "normal".......then 2. put in frig to cool down...then when ready to eat, 3. "Reheat". Watch portion control. Process should aid in weight loss. Do I have this correct?
Dr. Mandell, I have been following you for a while now. I often share your videos with my family and friends. My question today is for me. How does this process work for people who have had gastric bypass surgery? Rice is something that I love, but it hurts my stomach to eat. BTW: I have mastered portion control.
Good Morning & Thank you Dr. Mandell, it was good to hear what you said about these starches. Though Rice is my staple food & I cook it in a number of ways, I was still very careful not to eat it too often only bcoz of the starches thereby causing weight gain. However, hearing what you said made me feel so much better. O, btw, uncooked rice water is excellent for hair growth and ☘️ 🪴 growth. My herbs are growing beautifully.👍
@@maximmortal3170 ... Well uncooked rice water is: You wash the rice before cooking till the water runs clear. Then soak in clean fresh water for 15-20, then before cooking the rice, strain the water into a bowl and save it use in hair or plants etc. Btw, cooked rice water is: when rice is boiled in a pot of water with or without salt then drained out. Hope that helps!!
Sir I am from India preparing for medical entrance exam. I am watching your videos since from a long period of time , I want to ask a question. First, Does every time image is form on Fovea? Second, when does an image get form on Fovea in eye? Please reply I WILL BE WAITING FOR YOUR ANSWER.
Gm Thx for this info🙏 So Are you saying once rice and or potatoes are cooked don’t eat it right than and there Too put it in the fridge for the amt of hrs that u have mentioned than eat it🤔
Dear Dr Mandell, I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear what you had to say about the starches. I hear so much about cutting out carbs like brown rice, potatoes, whole grain bread, and I have been using brown rice for a while along with sweet potatoes and whole grain breads. Does putting them in the refrigerator count as a good thing too? I usually buy more than one and put them in the freezer.
Yeah halleluyah this is a good news for me, I can eat this way and enjoy my favourite foods. I am very happy to hear this as I am also concern about weigh management and healthy body, eat happily tasty foods also another gratitude to give thanks halleluyah, and never forget I want to say to you my darling thank you for everything 😃😃😃😃😃
Wish he would do a follow up video explaining how to "properly cool" these foods and the best way to reheat them to keeo the resistsnt starch intact best as possible.... Key information....
I learned the best way to cool is to separate the food into smaller amounts and let cool no longer than 2 hours. I have a small folding table under a ceiling fan. I divide the hot food into 2-3 portions, cover them leaving one lid corner not sealed to let the heat out faster, and put them under the ceilings fan for at least 1 hour before checking. If mildly warm, I close the lid corner and put it in the fridge. If still very warm to hot I check again in 30 mins. No matter what, by 1 hr 59 mins, I put it in the fridge. To reheat, I mostly use the oven. If I must use the microwave, my Dr said do not reheat in plastic so use heat save glass or ceramic. Reheat temps are 250-275. More than that and you are re-cooking. If I have time I reheat at 275 for 1 hour or 1.15 mins. If in a hurry then I use 300 for 1/2 hour or 45 mins.
Dr Mandell is doing really great work here. Resistant starch is a type of starch that resists digestion in the small intestine and ferments in the large intestine, acting as a prebiotic to feed the beneficial gut bacteria. It has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, lower blood sugar levels, reduce appetite, and provide various benefits for digestion. Resistant starch has fewer calories than regular starch and may increase feelings of fullness, potentially aiding in weight loss. It is naturally found in foods such as raw potatoes, green bananas, legumes, and cooked and cooled rice or potatoes. Incorporating resistant starch into the diet may offer several health benefits.
Sometimes I worry about the doc.. he's putting out so much good information, saving lives that sooner or later the fastfood / pharmaceutical industrial complex might consider hiring a couple of Boeing executives /assassins or maybe some moonlighting secret service agents or Feds to go after him 😂

What if you keep your bread and rice in the freezer? Then toast the bread and microwave the rice. Would that qualify for resistance starch?
Yes

The key with chips is that they are baked and were not fried is seed oils. Seed oils are industrial lubricants and should not be consumed.

I've always heard each item on your plate should be no bigger than the size of the palm of your hand.
Go by the calories and your calorie count in a day. 😊
looking at my portion control plate it measurses about 1/2 a cup.
Eat till you are 80% full. Chew slowly, and chew a lot. It’ll make a big diff!

I promise you will fine with my prescription, I promise
Now does the rice and bread have to be frozen or can it be refrigerated overnight and heated, then consumed. Would it still be a resistant starch?
Thanks for the reminder👍😍
Starches are linked to carbohydrates in these foods?
What a gorgeous T-shirt! Oh ... and the video was great too.
Can you provide any testimonials that stand up to what you just told all of us?
There are more doctors on YT that back up this theory, so it is probably true😎
Are you sure the starch just needs to be refrigerated or does it need to be frozen? What temperature range does it require? Thanks :)
