Save your glass jars from pickles, salsa, (all sizes), remove old labels or even buy a dozen pint/quart canning jars. Glass is better than plastic for food storage, it's easy to see what's in the jar. Easy to store jars. Put a piece of masking tape on lid, label & date (potato soup 8/27/24) If it gets lost in the fridge as sometimes happens; the date will tell you how old it is. The very small jars are good for those bits of diced onion, peppers, shredded cheese. I like this way a lot.

So eating frozen mashed potato and frozen chips, cooked, will in fact be good for you especially mixed with some frozen spinach. Which is what I ate tonight! That's why I only buy frozen mash potato now, and I keep my rice and grains in the fridge. 👍

The key with chips is that they are baked and were not fried is seed oils. Seed oils are industrial lubricants and should not be consumed.

Dear Doctor Mandel, I am also a doctor, and I appreciate your teachings very much. I completely agree with the concept of refrigerated starch...
But I would like to al you a question about a couple that after cooking the pasta they put this pasta in the fridge, and the following day they prepare the pasta with a fresh tomato sauce and parmesan chees. After some half an hour, both of them threw up the pasta and had diarrea...
They are both overweight, and they are u used to eating pasta. Is there any explanation that you can think of to interpret this success...?

It blows my mind that people don’t know the difference between different kinds of carbs… I eat whole grains and pasta and rice, when I cook I make enough for leftovers for lunch the next Day and some to freeze. It’s a lifesaver. I actually just made fried rice with veggies for dinner and when I want to eat it again I’ll just pull a pack out of the freezer and then cook some scrambled eggs to put on top. Way better tasting and better for you than take out. It’s really not that much extra work to get three or more meals out if cooking once.

Though Rice is my staple food & I cook it in a number of ways, I was still very careful not to eat it too often only bcoz of the starches thereby causing weight gain. However, hearing what you said made me feel so much better. O, btw, uncooked rice water is excellent for hair growth and ☘️ 🪴 growth. My herbs are growing beautifully.👍

@@maximmortal3170 ... Well uncooked rice water is: You wash the rice before cooking till the water runs clear. Then soak in clean fresh water for 15-20, then before cooking the rice, strain the water into a bowl and save it use in hair or plants etc.
Btw, cooked rice water is: when rice is boiled in a pot of water with or without salt then drained out. Hope that helps!!

I learned the best way to cool is to separate the food into smaller amounts and let cool no longer than 2 hours. I have a small folding table under a ceiling fan. I divide the hot food into 2-3 portions, cover them leaving one lid corner not sealed to let the heat out faster, and put them under the ceilings fan for at least 1 hour before checking. If mildly warm, I close the lid corner and put it in the fridge. If still very warm to hot I check again in 30 mins. No matter what, by 1 hr 59 mins, I put it in the fridge.
To reheat, I mostly use the oven. If I must use the microwave, my Dr said do not reheat in plastic so use heat save glass or ceramic. Reheat temps are 250-275. More than that and you are re-cooking. If I have time I reheat at 275 for 1 hour or 1.15 mins. If in a hurry then I use 300 for 1/2 hour or 45 mins.

Dr Mandell is doing really great work here.
Resistant starch is a type of starch that resists digestion in the small intestine and ferments in the large intestine, acting as a prebiotic to feed the beneficial gut bacteria. It has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, lower blood sugar levels, reduce appetite, and provide various benefits for digestion. Resistant starch has fewer calories than regular starch and may increase feelings of fullness, potentially aiding in weight loss. It is naturally found in foods such as raw potatoes, green bananas, legumes, and cooked and cooled rice or potatoes. Incorporating resistant starch into the diet may offer several health benefits.

Now does the rice and bread have to be frozen or can it be refrigerated overnight and heated, then consumed. Would it still be a resistant starch?

Are you sure the starch just needs to be refrigerated or does it need to be frozen? What temperature range does it require? Thanks :)

Except there is no way to remove the phytates from wheat, unless it is slow raised, or the seeds are soaked overnight.

Sometimes I worry about the doc.. he's putting out so much good information, saving lives that sooner or later the fastfood / pharmaceutical industrial complex might consider hiring a couple of Boeing executives /assassins or maybe some moonlighting secret service agents or Feds to go after him 😂
