That 1:3" twist acts like a blender in the gel. Very good result. The Hornady CX bullet might be too tough to expand at modest velocity. Hope it works!
Great video!!!! I am building an 8.6BLK rifle and will be using an 8" barrel (form 1 SBR) and will [eventually] acquire a CGS Hekate suppressor for the end of the rifle! What do you expect the load data would be for an 8" barrel, given your load on a 16" barrel?

@@Diaszurana 🤔. Good question. I’d say with low pressure subs it would be a pretty high round count. With the much hotter super loads it would definitely shoot out faster.

@@stiehl8455 Anything above 950fps has been expanding reliably, and the velocity loss at those ranges isn’t too bad. I’m thinking of doing a ballistics chart for future videos to show velocities out to where it drops below 950fps. There’s an online chart you can fill in the weight and muzzle velocities for hand loads and it’ll generate the charts. 😉
@@ravissary79 Did you go look at a ballistics chart for these sub loads?? With a 100yrd supply get-in this round is 2.9” high at 50yrds, 0” high at 100yrds and 11” low at 150yrds. Those are pretty easy offsets to account for. If your getting good stability and constant velocities, drop, although happening faster with lower starting velocities can still be calculated pretty reliably. But then again these subs weren’t really designed to shoot out so far that extreme drop would be an issue.
@@kentuckyrangetime I mean compared to something like 308. It's just going to drop more. Subs are a different animal, but they're terminally highly consistent, especially these, because of how spin is conserved vs linear velocity vs drag.
@@kentuckyrangetime yeah I have a 16" upper that I'm waiting to get a lower for, I'm curious how the subs fire unsuppressed because I don't plan on putting a can on, I know sometimes subs have problems cycling properly unsuppressed
@@mckenzieb92 I’ve been firing all my subs unsuppressed with no issues. I did install the Superlative Arms bleed-off gas block. It’s set at 20, 18 is wide open, and no issues. I could always adjust it either way if needed but not had to change anything.
@@bradconnell4346 I’m loading my own for about $2/rnd. That’s not much different than my .458 socom or .50 Beowulf loads running all copper bullets. At either price point I t’s definitely not the caliber to take out to the range and run several hundred rounds 😂
@@bavariasuhl I bought brass and bullets from them. The brass had very low neck tension. I could barely feel the bullets going in. Without a decent crimp I have to really think about running them.

Subsonic stuff hardly loses any velocity at 100yds its not like supersonic stuff that loses hundreds of fps .
The problem with subs is drop/accuracy, not energy retention.

maybe they can make bullets but their ammunition sucks, the extreme spreads of their 8.6 loads are horrible, like a blind man loaded them
