To be honest, it looks like the M2 11 inch has slightly thicker bezels then the M1 does but the 13 inch M2 has thinner bezels.

Just got myself the Air M2 13 inch and it’s amazing. What a device. At the Istore, I had looked at both the new iPad Pro and this device and honestly, the 120hz on the Pro is stunning but not a game changer for me. To get the pro for normal use would literally be a waste of your money. Get the air 13 inch, you will not go wrong.

For portable tablet usage I have the Mini.
I have the M1 Air with 256gb. It is a great device, but not upgrading. IMO, the M2 Air is an incremental upgrade. If I were buying nowm, would get the new one, but happy with what I have.

I went and picked up the 13” IPad Air and upgraded the storage to 512! Could not be happier! With the Magic Keyboard and new Apple pencil pro it’s a game changer. Fun to use.

@@ashwaniverma5806 not me…. I have been holding off for a while for a new iPad. I still had the iPad Pro Gen 2. So, it has been a while. I was waiting for the 14” iPad but that got canceled. I use the larger size iPad for playing the piano (sheet music) is easy to read on the 13”.

Although, fx I prefer the 11’’ format over the 13’’ one. It’s more comfortable to carry, and it’s easier to fit in different kinds of bags.
Bought the 13" iPad Air on Friday and it's great. Use it for online classes, gaming, streaming movies, listening podcasts, listening to music, online bill pay, and reading. You get a big screen tablet that's fast, smooth, and light for under $900 and with an iPad trade in...I paid only $600

It's light and easy to hold in my opinion. The bigger screen size makes a big difference for web pages, gaming, and movies. I didn't buy an Apple Pencil so I can't speak on that user experience

You can use the apple pencil with the usb-c charging port for the airs. At least that’s what the apple website stated.

I hope, at some point, you address the sound quality of the 13 inch iPad Pro. It is noticeably different from the previous models, and it sounds much worse if you’re just listening to dialogue on TH-cam. Music sounds worse to me also, but that’s a bit more subjective.
Is there actually any reason to pick air 13” over an older m1/m2 iPad Pro 12.9? The screen on the new 13” Air is identical specs-wise to the one from 2018 12.9 iPad Pro, but without promotion
A new m2 12.9 is more expensive an m1 or prior 12.9 inch will probably be used or refurbished and some people don't want that and only want brand new.

Here is an interesting situation. Most of the late cell carriers here in Canada sell tablets with a data plan on two-year financing. The interesting thing is they only have the 11in 256Gb version of the pro in silver or black. They also have the 2022 iPad Pro and the 2019 iPad Pro. That suggests they have an overstock of previous models they can't get rid of. They have also increased the down payment from 25% up to about 50% except for the 10th gen iPad which is still at $0 down.

I got caught in a heavy thunderstorm which soaked me, my bag and washed out my iPad Pro (2018 version). The Apple Store wanted me to buy a new one but i simply replace my 1TB 2018 model for RMB 5000. In Us that’s 920$. It still works fine - sure i want Logic and FCX but that can wait. What will make me jump is the iOS/MacOS upgrade.

Probably icloud and flashdrive via usbc. Ipads are for mobile computing so icloud makes the most sense tbh.

Definitely the 13” M2 Air is the best bargain. I am a designer, so I regularly use the iPad to draw, conceptualize, etc. The bells and whistles on the Pro models are really not worthwhile. M4 is not going to do anything the M2 can’t with the current iPadOS and available applications.

I am finally considering upgrading from my iPad Pro 2018. The roll feature on the Pencil Pro seems major for me for painting. The landscape face camera is the other major positive. Not considering the iPad Pro M4. Not enough advantage for the price. Still will wait to see if there will be a MacOS hybrid OS for iPad. If it comes I will be one of first to get a new iPad.

Exactly! If one doesn’t do iPad gaming (or intense gaming) and/or video editing…M1 is all that is needed - (at least until they throw us a fastball by weighting iPadOS down with intense AI computing requirements).

I switched from the iPad Air 10.9” to the M1 12.9” a long time ago mainly because I felt like the screen size was way too small!! I absolutely made the right decision !! Plan on trading the M1 in for the 13” M4 iPad Pro soon, CAN’T WAIT!!! 😊

I just don’t see the point in the Air anymore. Why are there M chips in these iPads? If the developer event does not do anything with ipad os, I would not be a buying a new ipad. Its ipad OS still.
If they dont give a desktop mode, or full mac os apps I do not see the point.
I love my ipad mini 6. But for example its basically the tablet version of an iphone 14 or 14plus spec wise.
However it can’t run stage manager, but the M1 is not much faster than the A15 in single core, its the multi core performance mixed with added ram.
So in Theory. The A14 Ipads & A15 Ipads should be able to handle a new version of ipad os, with better features.
They are making the line up confusing, unless they’re planning on switching on all the iPads to M chipsets.
The mini 6 is the best choice for an iPad right now in my opinion for the price and features on sale.
Or the ipad air 5 is on sale for $399 & $499. But you can find the M2 macbook air for $849.
I find these comparisons interesting. As I use an M2 10 Core MA, & A15 Mini. So I feel the gap is really not that big between the 2 to warrant a bigger price anymore.
Why pay $700 for 256gb without a keyboard? When that ends up costing more than an M2 Macbook Air? That is way more capable.
I feel for Ipads if your looking for one getting an Ipad 10 or Mini 6, or Air 5 is a way better deal. Sadly Ipad OS is so far behind. There might be people who want these features, but at the end of the day it does nothing new.

Many sorts of comparisons can be done and they will probably have more. They are not limited to _just_ this comparison line-up.

For 90% of the people regular iPad, the creatives pro. Air is for no one.
Possibility of a bit more iPadOS version upgrades for the silicon models? My lovely old - and obsoleted - iPad Air 2 was long in tbe tooth. I’m happy to have picked up a new M1 Air (256 GB; blue) for just $600 last month (April 2024).
Regular iPad is for little kids and grandparents.
iPad Air is for students and the average consumer.
iPad Pro is for creators, artists, and video editors.
The 13" iPad Air offers the big screen tablet experience for under $900. Apple gave me a $300 trade in credit so got mine for $600 and it's better than the regular iPad especially for gaming. The newer console quality games require an M series chip

You forgot to mention that with the new expensive iPad Air, Apple had crippled it by not including promotion . So it’s stuck at 60 Hz instead of 120 Hz making lagging response with touch, gestures and games as another incentive to buy the more costly models.
They also only have 2 speakers, and 1 microphone why? Of course, to force you to buy the more expensive model. They include a crappy 20 watt charger instead of the 36 watt charger that they are capable of using. But you can conveniently buy it on their website for $49.99 after you have already paid over $1000. That is, of course, unless you live in Europe, in which case you get no charger thanks to Greta Thunberg .
They don’t even include the two stupid stickers because of environmental concerns but if you purchase an iPad in their store you get them so I guess the environment is only affected outside of the store. Apparently, Timmy Cook is quite the bean counter, I just wish he would get back to designing revolutionary products like Steve Jobs used to do. Instead of handing out all of the peoples hard - earned money and giving it to all of his woke liberal left organizations. He should use it to do more research and development for the next great thing.👺
Well you’re pretty far off base aren’t you. Apple “eliminated” ProMotion? That would imply it was at one time on the Air which it was NOT. The Air has NEVER had ProMotion. Only the Pro does. Hence the name, Pro…. Also. Take away 2 speakers? Yet again no they did not. The Air has ALWAYS only has 2 speakers. The Pro has 4. Nothing has changed.
