Let's see, Apple couldn't do this until recently and it still can't handle PS2 games because they're locked down. Apple did this because of lawsuits so, if it weren't for that iOS wouldn't play console games. I use both Android and iOS and they're good for certain things each.

updates with decimals are bug fix updates. a new number update is a feature update which happens every year. they will always release new features every year.
The phone is going to vibrate whilst listening to songs, so my battery is going last 20 min now and not an hour anymore

Wdym fixing the OS. My biggest complaints with the iPhone are A) Siri is clunky and almost completely useless and B) lack of sideloading.
I like all of this. I wish they’d add split screen multitasking and ability to change keyboard colors while texting.

but can i put more than 4 apps in a single row on the homescreen? as with the pro max version increasing in size the screen to app size ratio if i cant put more than 4 apps in a row its going to feel like a phone for elderly people with just big gaps between apps or big app logo sizes
I hate to be this way.. but Apple did say they were going to have the biggest change to iPad since iPad.. and we got what we got.. don’t get me wrong I’m a huge Apple fan.. but idk about iOS 18.. time will tell I guess.
I feel the same way. Nothing is gonna get added with all this power in iPads. Especially m4 like we can get always on displays and I’m sure it won’t happen. I been lost fair in software with apple even tho I absolutely love Apple

@@D4NNYF00 me too, it’s weird to me that content creators put out click bait like there isn’t a lot to discuss when it comes to what isn’t doing. I’ve been dying to invite someone to a location via the maps app. If I look up a place to eat I don’t see why I couldn’t invite someone to meet me there at a specific time from within maps. Also, if I add a location to my appointment in calendar, give me a better UI, something that has pictures of the location I added. Where are the native leaderboards for arcade games ? Why can’t I challenge other iOS users without needing to have them as a contact? Or why is the calandrr app on iPad so flat, there is all that real estate, there is just so much they could blow me away with that isn’t even that difficult

I love my iPhone but the initial release of every iOS that I can remember is lacking quite a few features that roll out slowly over 6 months or so.
i dont know why but i can changen widgets and icons to any place i want on my home screen. Is it beceause my iphone is in europe and the software might be a slight bit different?
I want side loading. These incremental changes does nothing to improve the claustrophobic operating system of the iPhone. What about adding a proper notification bar on top so I know I have notifications? Countless times I don't even know if I have notifications. I'm probably just switching back to Android - iPhones are stuck in the past.

WOW placing icons wherever you want!! who couldve thought that in 2024?? well now im buying a new iphone! thats for sure even though i have already 2

Anyone have any recommendations as i am planning on buying my first iphone and currently confused between iphone 15 plus with ios 18 (when it comes) or iphone 16 ?
Here’s the smartest options:
If you’re on a budget, wait for the iPhone 16 to release, and then buy a iPhone 15; it most likely will have a price drop by 100 dollars or so.
If you are flexible, I would either buy a 15 now, or a 16 when it comes out.
If you need/like the pro features, I would wait for the iPhone 16 series, and buy a 15 pro for a cheaper price.

The apple maps feature is the absolute highlight for me! So nice to be able to specifically check routes that I prefer from home to work and back!

The modular part about apps is probably gonna be the system apps because currently they can only be updates with iOS updates, unlike android where google pushes system app updates seperately
The modular apps allows the content, design, and layout of apps to be updated at the will of the app programmers because each app is run within its own container. So, you won't need to update the app version in the app store. Android apps already had this. Most notably, the TH-cam app has done this for years.

Here we go again. _Skeuomorphism_ is _not_ the antithesis to _flat._ Skeuomorphism is about making apps look like real-world counterparts, not about 3D depth or drop shadows. Apple never abandoned skeuomorphism. The Notes icon still looks like a notepad; the calendar icon still looks like a calendar; the email icon still looks like a letter; the Safari icon looks like a compass. Adding depth or 3D is _not_ skeuomorphism.
Flat design has always been boring and never been necessary. It’s a welcome development to see Apple moving back to depth, even if only a bit.

So does every Android manufacturer. What do you expect, groundbreaking, innovative tech every year? You obviously know nothing about technology or the markets it’s intended for, but the companies making and selling the products do.
@@michaelhall9146the only Android manufacturer that markets updates is Google themselves. Most manufacturers and models don’t offer major OS updates on Google’s release day, and sometimes never.
For instance, even the S22 Ultra doesn’t have Android 15 yet. The S20, only 2 years old, can run Android 13, but they stopped updating it after that. That’s absolutely garbage.
How about allowing the user to create as many calendar alerts as they want and at the intervals they want?
I work with people with disabilities and can tell you - in built eye tracking got soooo much attention and still gets mentioned even a couple of weeks later. While it's pitched as an Accessibility setting and will be a game changer for many who can't afford high end iOS MFI compatible eye gaze cameras (they start around $2k), I have a feeling eye tracking will become the way many people choose to access their devices as we transition to wearable and eventually largely screenless computing.

Back button., changing settings (Bluetooth, wifi, data conenction) on status bar should be as easy as Android are still missing.

I would love it if Apple gave you the ability to change your text color in notes…. Like why is this not a thing?! It’s odd. It’s a notes app, you highlight notes in different colors, why not let me change the text color instead.

as a long time android purist, recent apple updates and trends with their devices, is starting to bridge the gap between the two in terms of features, and since this seems like a long term trend that will continue, i might even consider a switch solely if they keep up the good work, much to the chagrin of the old iLuddites.

I would love for them to make manual camera settings more accessible and just a better redesign overall. (white balance lock is barried under menus in settings) Nothing in the app.
I’m just thinking about the potential that they have the sensor information and choose what we see. This is interesting but it’s also very scary.
