My 2004 Mach 1 with 19k miles, sits in the garage a lot. After speaking to my mechanic regarding the vehicle turning over but no spark; I checked the fuel rail for pressure (there was zero fuel); he said take a rubber mallet and tap on the fuel tank while another person tries to start it. He was right the little electric motor gets stuck sometimes. After about 10-15 taps i heard the electric motor kick in while my daughter was trying to start it (sending voltage the motor), and it started! You should have been here lol.

Did you check the "Inertia Switch?" Always check this first if no fuel to engine! Inertia switch is safety feature on Fords to prevent fuel fire after minor collision or bad switch. Can be reset if not bad switch. Switch runs about $80.

It sounded like you were going to use that white circular specialty tool but opted for that orange tool instead to separate the fuel lines, may I ask what that tool is called?
Yea I have a mustang 2000 3.8 cranks no start never had any no start issues at all one night drove home parked next day crank no start took to neighborhood shop they said. The fuel modg fine. pcm fine some where inbeteen. The dash maybe wanted to charge me 450 Bucks. No guarantees. To find problem 2 months now 3 fuel pumps later auto zone bad pumps

When this happens I usually give it a 15-20 minute rest and it starts right up. This may happen whenever I do some heavy acceleration on the way to the store as happened today. Any Ideas what to fix for this issue? I checked and the car has no codes.
@@wizz_kiddbandz2898 nope but I think the problem has something to do with the THEFT device. I got a new key and the problem has not occurred but twice. Wish I could bypass the key start and make a push start.
@@wizz_kiddbandz2898 I would try to figure it out, but if stumped, take your car to a good mechanics shop and pay the $75 diagnosis fee to figure out the issue... they can then tell you the cost to fix, and if you want it fixed for that price you can tell them to fix it, or if you want to fix it yourself you can bring your car back and fix yourself.

I did I realize that the fuel pump was not making any sound of sign I checked fuel pressure there was no pressure and I replace the fuel pump with a new one it did not work so I checked the fuel pump again and found out that it was defective however I put a new fuel pump in buttoned everything up correctly and put a new fuse noticed that the fuse was not popping anymore the car fired right up I’m so satisfied thank God😇🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
When the trans fluid is low there's a cut off switch to the engine when the fluid leaks back to the switch to reset then the engine starts check your trans fluid if still have problems change filter so fluid can tripp the safety feature in transmission
@@michaelfitzpatrick7456 confirmed. It is NOT. Closest acces is by the spare wheel in the trunk if you cut it but it's best to just drop the tank. Cutting near this is a bad idea.
What if you did all this including replacing your fuel filter and fuel pump and it still doesn't start or have fuel pressure that's what's happening with my 97 Mustang GT 😭

Crankshaft position sensor. I'm a few years late but that's my final answer. Its located under the front of the motor on the passenger side

What if your not getting power to the pump? The inertia switch is fine and getting power.
Mine doesnt have power in the pun that goes to the pump could it be the ccrm module ???
How much fuel pressure is it pose to have on pressure tester that would be helpfull mine has 35 but wont start
55 TO 60 PSI AND DOES NOT BLEED DOWN PUMP IS GOOD.

Had that problem with my come to find out it was the cam shaft bolt had broken off. That cause the cam shaft to move and cause a no spark

My friend had the same problem it turns out his transmission fluid was low it has a cut off switch to the engine in the trans so check and add

Why would you check injector pulse when you know there is no fuel pressure?

Is this true because I have been thinking of doing a rear seat delete on mines and wouldn't mind replacing the fuel pump while I'm at it.

Crank sensor that's junk ! $20 part and 20 minutes unless you need to move ac compressor just a bit to get out. Fast easy fix.
