That honestly explains why he took his mask off for the song. It puts that awkward seriousness in the background that might give someone the chance to slow down and listen to what the song is about. That’s really cool.
I think its a poetic representation, since the beat or music is uplifting and happy, and the lyrics are depressing. It kinda completes the taijitu of it.

I was born in 91 and my parents used to listen to this music around the house all the time, then they divorced when I was around 7 years old and turned out to be a pretty depressive kid, bullied at school and stuff, one of the saddest stages of my life was when I was remembering my toddler years with this music, I used to cry while listen music like this, Duran Duran , Genesis, Talk Talk and just shit that brought me back to that era, these days I cannot even get the edge or remember what I used to like about this song but It kinda came back listening to this cover, when listening to this band in particular I mostly listen to other songs and avoid this one cause I just don't find what was good about it but this cover kinda reminded me what it was to listen to this 17 years ago....

This cover always made me want to go out on the road on adventure, listening to it always got me wanderlusting and last August I did just that and went on a roadtrip across the western united states with three of my friends. Now the song brings back all those memories and makes me want to do it again.

Its my birthday today, and I've come back to this song just to appreciate the feeling of getting older and reliving memories. this song brings such an immeasurable feeling of nostalgia and longing for something I've never had. Biggest thank you to Danny for covering this beautiful song, He did it so much justice and I'd have never discovered my love for it without him.

I unreasonably love Havve Hogan’s outfit in this video and he looks really good in it? There’s just a lot about this video that just makes me... feel like I found that weird piece of me I never knew I missed. There’s also the fact that this song is golden on its own, but the video just... makes it all that much better.

I used to listen to this a lot when it came out, which was a during a pretty good part of my life. It's only been three years but life is a lot more stressful than it was and this song just gives me enough happiness from the nostalgia I could cry. It's just a really powerful song for me. God, something about this music video just gets to me. takes me to the strangest places, just thinking about that feeling of being in the car with your friends but no one says a word because their asleep, or keeping their eyes on the road, or reading or something. just that feeling of being alone with your thoughts but simultaniously surrounded by fellow humans as you careen through the world is distinctly comfy and this evokes that completely. makes me wanna road trip more than ever.

This was the video that introduced me to NSP, and made me really pay attention to how great Game Grumps were (they're still pretty good but that's besides the point). This song just means so much to me. I find myself listening to it and watching the video whenever I feel down or scared, which has been a lot lately. It just has such a feel good energy, and the nostalgia and peace that comes with remembering when I first found NSP is so sweet. This song alone has given me more comfort than I could ask for in these times, and it never gets old. Thank you with all my heart to Dan, Brian, all of TWRP, and the crew for this vid. Listened to this song a lot before my 8th grade graduation... it helped me out during some of the toughest months of my life that year. Middle school was the worst three years of my life, but Danny’s music really helped me pull through each day. Now I’m happy to say I’m one day away from starting my senior year. It feels crazy that time has gone by so fast; it seems like it was just yesterday that I was listening to this before taking my last set of eighth grade finals.... I felt like I was finally gonna to be able to rule the world then. Thanks for continuing to bring a smile to my face by your music, Danny. You’ve helped me through some of my toughest times :)
