    I just want to note that both armor proficiency and not-guns weapon proficiencies are exactly the same as other martials. They just can't "cheat" proficiency in other weapons up to legendary as fighters can do.

    Quick Draw is a good Feat for a few reasons. For one, the Way of the Pistolero. Their Initial Deed, Ten Paces, only allows them to draw a single one-handed firearm or crossbow. So, if you are specifically trying to build a dual-wielding Pistolero, Quick Draw becomes important for action economy with your secondary weapon, allowing you to draw and fire instead of draw then fire as two separate actions.
    Piggybacking from that, in a more general sense, it is a good Feat to have for those individuals whose builds rely on having multiple firearms/crossbows for a more drop and fire style of play. Say you already have two pistols drawn and have fired both. You don't have Dual-Weapon Reload (for some reason) and instead rely on having 6 already loaded guns. Dropping is a free action, then you use Quick Draw to pull another and fire it. Rinse and repeat at nauseum.
    On the subject of that, I wish their was a Feat that gave you a reaction to kick a firearm that you've dropped back up to you hand, with maybe the ability to reload as you do so. That would be cool.

  • @droxer673
    @droxer673 2 ปีที่แล้ว +77

    You should reread slinger's reflexes. It gives you another reaction at the start of each enemy's turn. This is way better than just an extra reaction.

    • @thatguy1823
      @thatguy1823 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      little less worth it when a lot of the reactions require you have a loaded firearm, maybe theres more that dont then i remember but yea. unless you have a magazine weapon thinking more though.

    • @droxer673
      @droxer673 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      That's very true, but the way Nonat read it implied that you only get one extra reaction rather than on reaction per enemy turn.
      Even with one bullet, you can still use fake out because the firearm just had to be loaded, so you could use that every time an enemy turn passes and an ally attcks. Plus grit and tenacity and hit the dirt don't require bullets.

    • @SteveMan92
      @SteveMan92 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@droxer673 He did read it to say "extra reaction per turn", but a lot of people do confuse "turn" with "round"
      However, this Feat still isn't that good, because it specifies that you only get the extra reaction on each *enemy's* turn, and you have to use the reaction on *that* turn. Since Fake Out requires your Ally to be attacking, chances are you don't have that extra reaction unless that Ally is using an Attack of Opportunity during an enemy's turn.
      Overall it's actually pretty subpar. Since most gunslinger reactions require a loaded weapon, you'd at most get 2 extra reactions out of this most of the time. The only exception to this is Hit the Dirt! since it technically doesn't require you to be standing

  • @cheezeofages
    @cheezeofages 2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

    4:00 This doesn't in fact kill the gunslinger as a dual class option for any martial. Other than fighter that is. If you look at the progression the gunslinger proficiency cap with non-guns increases at the same point every normal martial gets their increases. So for anything but fighter this doesn't limit any combo at all ever.

    Falling damage in 2e:When you fall more than 5 feet, you take bludgeoning damage equal to half the distance you fell when you land. Treat falls longer than 1,500 feet as though they were 1,500 feet (750 damage). If you take any damage from a fall, you land prone. One small correction on Disruptive Blur - it just happens. As long as you make an appropriate strike, you get the effect. Full stop. Even on a crit fail.
    EDIT: Also, to make a case for Reach for the Stars - if you have quick jump, this lets you, for a single action, move your long jump +50 feet. Yes, you can go straight up with it, but I personally think it's more valuable as a mobility boost at this level.

  • @MagicalMaster
    @MagicalMaster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    For the demoralization with the Warning Shot, it's easy. What the fuck could be scarier than a bang and suddenly the wall next to your head craters. You have to wonder if it was a deliberate miss or if someone's out for your blood. Either way, you were maybe a hair's breadth away from meeting the reaper.
    Edit: The Goblin Spoongun (is the the right term?) can be used with the Instant Return Feat. Just have one unloaded in your belt and someone launches something at you, you shove it into the pistol and give it right back. With the way the spoon gun is made EVERYTHING including bits of monsters, rocks and even spit (theoretically) can be launched back.
    Edit2: Reach for the Stars is at 18 because it's NON-MAGICAL. A lot of your power comes from magic, and being able to effectively fly without a drop of magic means you get to where you need to be regardless of what kind of shenanigans there are. There's no way to block physics. Just magic and all it's derivatives.

    Blood in the Air doesn't work on Invisible creatures unless you use a seek action to locate their square via sound or motion.
    Blood in the Air works against creatures that are in a dense fog or something, and if you can locate an invisible creature then it allows you to treat them as hidden instead of concealed, but against Invisibility.
    Deadeye basically just lets you automatically succeed on that perception check to locate invisible creatures.

    I think you must be misunderstanding something about Singular Expertise. Your non-gun or non-crossbow proficiencies still scale at the same Trained/Expert/Master rate of levels 1/5/13 that every other non-Fighter martial already has. It's just like the weapons the Fighter doesn't focus in except not starting at Expert.
    It literally only matters in two instances.
    1. You take the Archer, Mauler, or similar Archetype Dedication feat. These scale a category of weapon proficiency to match your highest. Singular Expertise prevents these from matching your Expert/Master/Legendary scaling.
    2. A Fighter//Gunslinger dual class. This is such a poor combination that you'd either never take it anyways, or if you do your GM probably won't apply the limitation to your Fighter weapon proficiency. Could be a cool way to do a combination weapon focused character.

    With ‘warning shot’ feat it’s actually not that crazy to demoralize an enemy from 900 feet. In the real world a sniper or a designated marksman can be used to demoralize the enemy by suppressing their position with intermittent shots in the enemy’s general area. We used to call it taking “pop shots” to remind the enemy you’re there and you can reach out and touch them.

    29:25 it’s a feat for those that want to wield multiple firearms like pistols at the same time. For example, there is a item that allows you to share runes with up to 6 one handed firearms so you would fire, drop, draw, fire, ext. problem with that is drawing would normally cost an extra action making the whole thing a bit moot. You could also use it to bring out a spare firearm in case you misfire or lose your weapon somehow.

    Is a nat 1 for a Balor low enough to be a failure against a lvl 14 character?
    Balor Fortitude is +39, a lvl 14 gunslinger maxing Dex will have a class DC of 33, being only an expert with 20 Dex.
    The nat 1 makes the Balor still having a success, downgraded to failure but bumped up to success due to incapacitation.
    Balor AC is 45, gunslinger attack is +30 if i'm thinking correctly, so it's still possible to score a crit against it even without circumstances bonuses or him being flat-footed (which in itself is pretty impressive), but the DC is what'll make such a feat impossible.
    Still, some even-leveled enemies are very deadly, headshot is far from being a bad feat to choose.

    Hair Trigger doesn't let you draw and strike nor draw multiple weapons, It lets you strike instead of drawing a weapon so it only does something if you start the encounter with your weapon drawn or, if you are a drifter, you can forgo drawing your melee weapon to strike with your gun.

    I guess you don’t know why P2e is so adverse to letting you deal falling damage to things you knock out of the air with things like Felling Strike and whatnot: Falling damage isn’t a roll in this game.
    Falling damage is equal to half the distance the creature fell. If you fall 60 feet you take 30 bludgeoning damage on impact. No save. If a dragon grabs a PC and flies up 200 feet with them, they’ll take 100 damage when they hit the ground unless somebody or something saves them.

    • @platyclysm4633
      @platyclysm4633 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That does make a really nice synergy with the Munitions Crafter skill chain though, since when you get Munitions Machinist (I believe that’s the name, don’t have the book in front of me atm), your bombs made with Alchemical Crafting now use an advanced alchemy level equal to your level-3, so you can eventually get access to some really powerful bombs to use with alchemical shot, and if you mix this with Spellshot, that’s a looooot of energy damage coming the enemy’s way.

    "I'm *so* happy that Rebounding Assault *stayed* in the game; it is the *stupidest* feat in Pathfinder 2e, and I am *so* happy it's still here." "I *love* this feat, it's *so* dumb;" It's pretty cool to know you recognize that some of these feats are *ridiculous* things that could only work or happen in an *anime* ; that's not saying it's *bad* , I've been *loving* anime, and even if you *normally* have more realistic tastes, I've seen some of the seemingly unrealistic things in anime actually *work* when executed just a *bit* differently from how it's performed in the anime, so you can be more forgiving and appreciative of ridiculousness like the Rebounding Assault.
    I *do* however, need to correct you in *one* thing; the feat rules said the melee weapon needed to deal either bludgeoning or slashing damage. It doesn't work with *piercing* melee weapons.
