    Sure, when Diogenes rubs one out in public hes a considered a great philosopher but when i do it, I get arrested and banned for life from Pizza Hut.

    Asking statues for alms to get into the practice of being rejected. I love that.
    Diogenes is my personal favorite philosopher, but out of respect for him I will never laud him because, I feel, that would only insult him.
    Every time I see a homeless person; I can't help but wonder if they aren't a modern version of Diogenes. That's my hope anyway.

      A person like that today would be labeled crazy, wildlike, anti-social, & asocial. Also condemned as a dangerous non-conformist if they begin 2 encourage others, then thrown in an asylum/prison or even as.sasinated- just like the famous ppl who preach peace & harmony were a.ssasinated.

      @@theredbaron5117 haha I believe it to be perhaps a leopard pelt of sorts, so you aren't completely mad! I have a skewed view since I cut it out from its original painting. Forgive me for I do not remember the name of the original.

I could tell that the background was Van Gogh but had no idea who the man was or what painting he was lifted from so the image made for confusing viewing to say the least lol, but thanks for clearing up the 'leopard leg' thingy!       He somewhat reminds of of that "dirtiest man in the world" in Iran who had just recently passed away. I was reading an article and I could not help but see him as the modern Diogenes, though without the philosophy.

      As far as we know his lifestyle choice was not due to him being forced to live in such a way, but rather a personal choice possibly influenced by the Oracle of Delphi.

      @@LetsTalkPhilosophy we need a non Christian perspective of the philosophy tho. All the ones I’ve found seem to be made by Christians and thus there’s bias and if I’m being honest, a lack of true understanding

      Maybe in your native language the D in his name is pronounced as a 'Th' but for english speakers it's pronounced as a D...and maybe in your native language the word 'able' is spelled 'abeal' but for english spellers it's spelled 'able'
