The stories of how much Diogenes messed around with Plato get even better when you consider that Plato may have been a wrestler before he became a Philosopher. That's supposedly how he got his name, "Platon", which means broad. If that's true, it means Diogenes is regularly walking up to the buffest Philosopher in town and trolling him and it's an amazing image.

"You see that bowl? There is an essence of 'bowl' that all bowls partake in." Diogenes answered "I do see the bowl, but I also see that it is empty. So where is the essence of emptiness that this empty bowl partakes in?" Before Plato could answer, Diogenes tapped him on the side of the head, and said "there it is"

When Philip II of Macedon marched on Corinth the entire town flew into activity, some forging or repairing weapons and armour, some patching walls, some strengthening battlements, but no one gave Diogenes a job. I haven't been watching for very long (around a week), but I've seen most of the videos on this channel already and I really like the layout and execution of the information given. Really funny and interesting + no idea what your gonna get next 😂👍. Keep it up guys.
The one question Dingenes could never answer. "Who's a good boy/girl?"
Out of all channels i accidentally stumbled on this one is the best. Keep up the great videos guys!
Fun fact: the word canine is derived from the latin canis, which in turn is derived from the greek word "κύων". The word cynic (greek: κυνικός), is also derived from the greek word for dog. So yeah, being a cynic pretty much meant you were ''like a dog'', which would mean that it wouldn't be much of a stretch to call Diogenes the first literal cynic to have ever lived.
I just recently, found Fact Fiend, loving this show, the topics are interesting and Karl is a laugh. Thanks for brightening my day's guys, and keep doing what you're doing. Helps kick some depression, can't help but smile and chuckle. Keep it up.
ya like daags?
my dog always comes up next to me on the bed, does that walk in a circle thing and then flops on top of me like the people elbow nowhere near where she was circling. cracks me up every time.
Karl is watching horrible histories again
I’m so glad that you guys are growing this fast! This channel is one of the best I watch rn and I always enjoy the videos you put out no matter what the topic is. Keep up the great work guys!!
This is just from sam o’nellas video on him ?
I love how these videos are just interesting rambles
Karl my man, whats up with the way you say bowl?
Did it sound like bong to you?
Wastelandman Yes it did, I had to do a double take because I thought this philosopher was even more chill
Thank god I'm not the only one who thought he said bong.
Hearing you talk about your dog is the highlight of my day. My dog does similar things but each one really is an individual
So Diogenes is the original troll? :P
Rocks D Boat no, Diogenes is the most successful troll. People know who Diogenes is.
Apparently you guys just hit 100k, and I’m very confused by how fast this happened but also quite happy it did
You sound like you are saying bong. Not bowl lol
Just realized that in his eyes that small homeless child must of seemed like a genius to him as even a famous philosopher did not think about cupping his hands this making his bowl redundant. A homeless child in his eyes must of been a truly insanely smart person.
Diogenes is actually my first name
Good job reaching 100,000 subs!
Eyyy horrible histories
Ayyy 100k congratulations n shiz
