MGRR is a fantastic platinum trophy hunt. Definitely the most fun game I've played in awhile!! I hope you do MGS2 next as its the goated game in the franchise
Bro, in the strongest possible terms, I would encourage you to play these in release order. The gameplay elements develop organically from each other, so by the time you've played MGS5 (which is early in the timeline but late in release) you are playing something almost entirely different. Each game broke the mold by building on top of what came before. In MGS2, you can shoot a drink over and the ice tumbles out and melts in real-time- amazing when played on the PS2 in 2001. Then when MGS3 came out, you could capture or kill any animal you encountered and they all had an effect and the world is a step up in immersion - groundbreaking on the PS2 in 2004. In addition, the stories (though written in specific times) have little references to each other that you'll miss otherwise. MGS4 has some big plot elements following on directly from MGS3, that you'd have hazy recollection of if you played 4 other games in between them. Just my two cents, this is a truly unique franchise!
My goal is to beat and platinum them all in chronological order and make notes of the story and finally finish the journey. Starting with mgs3 then going to mg:pw, and so on to fully immerse myself. Luckily I've played them all since NES release so I've got a good understanding. Great job though PB, keep up the great work you're in for a treat!
@PlatinumBro Snake Eater is actually the easiest game on Foxhound run. Once you map out the guard layouts and know how to cheese the bosses, you are solid (pun intended). God speed on Big Boss run for Sons of Liberty. You will probably break your controller
@@PlatinumBro I'm a big fan of MGSV as it's probably the closest I'll get to a Splinter Cell game still for a long ol time. There's going to be some extremely grindy trophies in there, a few people said to me cloud saving saves 30+ hours on some of them. But it's a genius game, truly incredible.
@@PlatinumBro to be honest I would be too, especially collecting all dog tags. I’m on the Witcher 3 and that’s nerve racking with the cards and characters
Im looking forward to trying the master collection. I did the ps3 version of 2, 3, PW, and 4. If you are going for 4, you might want to take breaks between the 8 required playthroughs because it can get very tedious. MGS2s VR missions were a nightmare, so I'm glad there's no trophy for it in the PS5 version.
Beating the games in chronological order has certain issues, because the prequels assume that you have played the "sequels", and therefore spoil certain parts of those sequels. For example, Peace Walker, spoils a pretty massive subplot in MGS4 that directly affects the main plot of the entire series. You're supposed to learn that info through the lens of MGS4, and then see how it began, in Peace Walker. You do you obviously, but just saying.
Oof, thank god I didn't just spoil MGS4 for you then LMAO. The story was being written as Kojima went about, that's why it's best understood when played in order of release.

No, the story in Metal Gear is unvieled in release order not chronological. You're not expected to know MGSV before playing MG1/2, but having played MG1/2 before MGSV will help you understand the importance of that game's ending. Playing MGS2 or MGS1 before MGS3 isn't going to spoil MGS3 for you. MGS is meant to be played in release order. For one, the gameplay and mechanics improve with each release. It would be difficult for a newcomer to jump to MGS1 or 2 after MGSV even though they take place after MGSV. Playing them in release order allows you to experience the gameplay evolution of the series. Secondly, elements of the story are unvieled in release order.
