This is great, the best part of the show that never gets old even after all these decades later. There are couple of film clips from the TV show where exiting the bat cave from the point of view of the drivers seat. Perhaps when I run across it sometime I will post it.

I read once that the bat cave exit was barely wide enough for the car to fit through. As a result, the shots were filmed driving very slowly, and then played at a sped-up rate for the scenes.

If you ever visit LA, you can hike to the actual Batcave.
It’s in Bronson Canyon. It’s connected to Griffith Park and is accessed from Hollywood. The Hollywood sign is visible from it. As the car comes out of the cave, the Hollywood sign is on the left and up high.
It’s actually not a cave, but a abandoned rock mine. It goes thru the hill and has three exits on the other side. It’s very narrow, and there is no vegetation at all. That is all fake bushes and trees around the entrance. The tunnel is very narrow and about 9 feet high. You used to be able to walk through it. I once smoked a bowl in the batcave.
Last time I went there, it was gated off , because of falling rocks and you couldn’t go inside.
The far side of the cave is even more famous. It’s a rock canyon enclosed on three sides. It’s been used in 100s of movies and tv shows, including ALL Star Trek series, and TJ Hooker.
    .
If you are a tv nut or film geek. It will be a thrill for you to see it. It’s free. You park for free in a lot a few hundred yards away and walk to it.

*I can clearly remember as a kid a debate one night out in the car port how there was a "track" or something that allowed the Batmobile to go so fast! LOL Many years later in a film class, I learned about "under-cranking", where you filmed at slower than normal speed - I guess back to the days of hand-cranking cameras, so when you ran film at normal speed, it looked faster than normal. That's how they filmed the Batmobile...*

An interesting fact was Adam was not even there when these were filmed his stunt double hubie kerns was driving the batmobile in everyone of those shots Burt is there cause with his mask it would be more easily noticeable if he wasn’t in the car Adam didn’t go to the Bronson canyon cave location until the reunion movie return to the batcave based on his book of the same name

Omg I loved this show when I was a kid in the 60s! I had to watch it alone because none of my sisters liked it. Actually they hated it lol. I'm a female, btw😂

Leuk om de Batmobile te zien rijden, maar constand hetzelfde filmpje is irritant, ook al is dat vanuit een andere stand genomen.

Never figured out why no one ever saw the bat mobile entering the main road and back-tracked the route to find the entrance to the bat cave

I just read on one of those click-bait sites that this hole, Bransen Cavern in Hollywood, was so small they actually drove the vehicle through it very slowly and to give the appearance of it happening quickly the "cameras were under-cranked, which meant that the action was filmed very slowly and then sped up during playback." Of course, these sites have a reputation for just saying anything they want and, frankly, I don't care enough to research further so you decide.

Bronson Canyon/Cave, yes it's located underneath and below the HOLLYWOOD sign. You can't drive a vehicle thru the cave , what they did was back it in then drove the Batmobile out and yes they did undercrank the film to make it look like it was flying in and out of the Batcave opening.

definitely undercranked. Looks fake by today's standards.
