Flash Kellam I knew most of these peope but not all. Thank you for identifying the rest of them. This show was my introduction to Batman and I've loved it ever since
I'm old. When I was a kid, Batman was a MUST SEE! It was nerve-wracking when they said, "Tune in next week, Same bat time, same bat channel!" This show, 'The Monkees', and 'The Addams Family' were all fun to watch. Back then, we mostly played outside, only watched TV when we had to come in after the street lights went on.
You are really making me smile. I lived the same life. Do you remember how the street lights would first flicker and hum when they came on? That would give us about 3 minutes until full brightness to get home before we would be grounded. We road like the wind on our black and red bikes, just like Batman and Robin in the batmobile. We always knew the characteristics of each street light and always got a kick out of it when one would fail giving us an excuse for extra time outside.....
Old Mill My friends had to be home when the 6 o’clock fire horn went off lol , we would come home when my mom would yell little bros name out the front door . If you stayed in the house all day your mom thought you were sick lol , I know cause I used to have chemistry and biology sets and my mom thought something wrong if I stayed inside too long lol
@@lisalovelylpa Yes I had those science sets, too. We had them in the basement and they were great fun in the summer when school was out and it was too hot to play outside. Mine were Gilbert sets and they are almost impossible to find today. I bet so many of the chemicals are restricted that there would be nothing for Gilbert to sell.
2:25, 3:58, 7:27, 8:31, 9:57, & 11:19 are the times I’ve found where we can see the end of Batman’s caps. No hands to be seen, so it has to be strings. Interestingly enough the very first one seems to be the only one where none of the points are drooping down, whereas the rest of them are.
I grew up on this show. I would always cheer when Batman outwitted a villain and sing the theme at the top of my lungs. I would get super invested in the story, and could watch it for hours. Adam West will always be my favorite Batman, and nothing can change my mind. "Da na na na na na na na BATMAN!!"
In 1966 this was the most exciting show on TV. I was 9 years old and my mother always snickered at these window scenes. Now I finally understand why. Every one of them was over my head and I never realized they were actually cameos. Until today.
manlius like you I was 9 years old during the second season. I remembered most of these window scenes. Loved the Monkees too and The Munsters. TV was pretty good in those days.
I can imagine George Reeves as Superman doing a cameo; SUPERMAN: Hey fellas, need some help? ROBIN: Holy Metropolis, Batman... it's Superman! BATMAN: Good to see you, old friend. SUPERMAN: Likewise, Batman. And you must be Robin. I've heard a lot about you, honor to finally meet you. ROBIN: The honor's all mine, sir. BATMAN: Appreciate the offer, Superman, but I think we have it under control. SUPERMAN: Well, if you change your mind, just let me know. Robin, you keep up the good work. ROBIN: I will, sir!
Its interesting how they make climbing a wall look so effortless, lol. Growing up as kid during the 60’s, batman was my favorite show on TV, and was one of those rare shows that appeared twice a week. Of course, as a 7 year old kid, I had no idea that it was played for camp. It was all serious to me. I laugh now watching the old reruns, but still relish the good times I had watching it. Plus, the first episode introduced me to my first crush, the lovely Jill St. John.

Scandalous that Germany had tricked the allies into thinking the Third Reich was completely defeated, was still holding POWs in the mid 60’s, with Batman’s full knowledge, and had found a way to keep their stalag commandants from aging.
Well, two theories about that 1. Either he's kinda right, since the 40's serials had Batman *actually being a government aid* so he effectively WAS a police force or 2. One day we both decided to become 'superheroes' so we went into his older brothers closet (his older brother was an aspiring rock band drummer) and took 2 of his brightly colored satiny stage shirts and cut off the front and the sides including the arms and just left the backs and the collars and we had instant superhero capes! We then named ourselves... "The Tarantulas" a crime fighting duo and went throughout the neighborhood fighting crime. Boy did we catch heck later from my friend's older brother. So innocent back then.
I'm 59 and this brings back great memories, and I've been drumming 45 years...30 at church on a double kick Roland TD-6 rig! Curious...what aspiring rock band was your friends brother drumming for? Did he ever make it big? If so what's his name?

The 60s were fun, but modern times call for modern gadgets and the grapple gun is no exception. You're not gonna be a dickhead abseiling whilst Black Mask, Deadshot and Deathstroke are firing at you.
@@lt.branwulfram4794 I would like to dedicate a few moments of silent thought to acknowledge the use of *whilst* in the 21th century.
60s Batman got to show his bat talking skills and synchronized walking.
@@lt.branwulfram4794 Yeah, but 60s Batman would still have defeated them. The building walking might seem slow, but can the modern Batman summon speech bubbles with power words that defeat his enemies? 60s Batman had magical powers.

We did the same thing we would rather be outside playing than inside, riding our bikes for miles...kids today are obese.
Yeah , really, kids today would flip if they had no choice but to wait a week to see the next part lol
As a kid, I never recognized any of people in the window were famous. Pretty funny watching as an adult. I recognize everyone now. Thanks for posting!
The Beatles popping their Heads out would have been epic..
They probably would be to busy
I was half watching the video just to se if they did
But who will play the background music?
That and Mad Modd would kidnap then.
Me too i was kind of hoping
Elvis Presley; Jim Morrison; or Grace Slick would have been cool too.
I like how they even made Batman's cape...hold outward....
strings.
Mostly. They should have used more strings to make all the points on the cape go “down”/sideways to better sell the illusion.
Someone is clearly holding the Cape and walking along with them
2:25, 3:58, 7:27, 8:31, 9:57, & 11:19 are the times I’ve found where we can see the end of Batman’s caps. No hands to be seen, so it has to be strings.
Interestingly enough the very first one seems to be the only one where none of the points are drooping down, whereas the rest of them are.
Wires within the fabric itself. Both capes look stiff almost plastic.
Holy Nostalgia Batman! Those cameos rock! 🦇

Well, Adam West was Fun! (Some of the others are far too serious.)
In 1966 this was the most exciting show on TV. I was 9 years old and my mother always snickered at these window scenes. Now I finally understand why. Every one of them was over my head and I never realized they were actually cameos. Until today.
I was more of an Invaders fan myself but this was great.

BATMAN: Appreciate the offer, Superman, but I think we have it under control.
SUPERMAN: Well, if you change your mind, just let me know. Robin, you keep up the good work.

That first impression had forever solidified my understanding of the character as I had seen him. A violent crusader that stalks the night, striking fear into the hearts of criminals. Fighting against a world of organized crime and a deranged psychopath that kills for sport.
And then I discovered this 8 minutes ago. Needless to say, the contrast between the two is jarring to say the least.
For me, this will always be the real Batman.
Try the movie with the dehydrated UN members and the exploding shark
Those of us who are older are thankful that our first exposure to Batman was through the comic books.
A whole constellation of great entertainers. Great fun. ' Remembering is living ' , goes the saying. Thank you for sharing.
