Hey Flora, I think there is no need to tell you, but still wanted to... You are such an inspiration and motivation. Every time I watch your videos I just want to go outside and run. Big Thanks and thumbs up :)
I live in Spain, very hot, and very sunny. I also do trail running, and Spain has many mountains, and answering your question: The landscape is stunning and beautiful. RUnning it must be a great experience but also very challenging with so much bogs, moors, rain... Love your vids
Loving these videos Flora!!! You're killing it - thank you for taking us along with you! Answering your question "is it desolate or beautiful?" I think the Scottish highlands is the most beautiful place in the world. I'm awestruck every time I get to visit. Especially Skye - talk about feeling like you're in another world.
What an incredible day, congrats on 1st female Day 2! Thanks for taking us along on the long bog slog. 😆 Those views are PHENOMENAL!! What a beautiful place to torture yourself for a few days. It's a very good thing you and Amy had each other for company! Before you asked about beauty vs desolation, I was wondering if any highland clans had lived in that particular spot, and what life had been like. It's both beautiful and desolate. I can't wait to see the final day, and how your ankle and tendons held up!
I’m really enjoying these and can’t wait for day 3. Your videos are very inspiring and while I know ultras are very hard, you make them seem achievable. I’m hoping to do my first one next year.
Great video again! Well in - look forward to day 3! Super cool to have so much footage available - love the combination of appreciation for where you are and the constant moaning about the terrain and the wet feet
I woke up feeling aches and pains everywhere and I'm thinking of all kinds of excuses to miss today's run (training for my 1st marathon here). Then I watched your video and I'm like, yeeaaah, I've got no excuse. Lol. Thanks for inspiring Flora!!
I love these videos! They've made such a difference to my day. I'm sat at home with my newborn in my arms, so am enjoying living vicariously through your adventures, can't wait to be able to run again! Thank you for making them :)
I am usually a silent watcher and don't comment much, but as a big fan of your channel since before you started training for Tokyo I just wanted to say how amazing is to see how far you have come. Your channel is an amazing inspiration every time, thank you so much for sharing these fabulous adventures with us! 🥰
Found you really funny on this one Flora!!! Great commentary. And yes absolutely stunning setting. Thanks again for inspiring us. Looking forward to 3rd chapter of this wonderful adventure!
Great video Flora. That brought all the memories flooding (used advisedly) back. What a special place Knoydart is, and what a special event the Highland Ultra was.
Congrats Flora!!! Another amazing effort, especially considering your ankle injury. I similarly had a horrible ankle tendonitis when hiking the Larapinta Trail in NT, Aus (also on very rough, steep, uneven terrain) and had to limp for the last 50km to finish the hike, so I empathise with how disheartening injuries can be! But good on you for picking yourself up and powering through until the end! Keen to see part 3 :)
Well done Flora!! I watched the whole video. Loved the scenery where you are! So glad you're running along side with Amy! You're both doing great! Hope the ankle holds out for your 3rd day. You got this👍cheering you on to the end👏👏🥰
@@FloraBeverley thank you so much for replying, can't wait for part 3 😃Really such an inspiration, despite injury, tiredness and the conditions, hats off Flora!
I am from South Africa and really enjoy your videos. Just completed my first trail ultra across Table Mountain and it was awesome. You should definitely come and run some ultras in Cape Town.
Really enjoying your running videos Flora, thanks for sharing your experiences. It must take such strength and mental resilience to complete something like this, I’m in awe! Looking forward to part 3 😊
Wow wow wow Flora, looks like you all definitely earned those amazing views 😍!! You must be so strong to just keep going, it’s always really hard seeing others in pain :(. Really hope recovery is going ok and you’re getting back to having more energy again. I’m sure you’ve already considered this and know it doesn’t work for you but coming down those steep and uneven downhills always makes me think about having a chest mount for your go pro. Can’t wait for part 3 :)!
I've tried a chest mount before and unfortunately the footage is never smooth enough for TH-cam- because when you run you twist! The footage always makes me a bit seasick 😅 head mounts are better but too heavy!
River crossing looked a bit chilly, no wonder you lost feeling in your feet. That’s not good, I find that I then get poor blood flow, lack of cushioning and risk of bruising. I like my waterproof socks, though the water would come over the top. I see Dekshell make a couple of versions with a seal around the top, one specific for wading. Has any tried these? Perhaps the top seal would be uncomfortable when running or cut down blood flow. Worth a try though?
Definitely worth a shot for sure! Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately everyone who used normal waterproof socks got very wet still! No escaping it 😆
I'm a big fan of year round open water swimming - swearing helps with cold tolerance, as I'm sure you found with that river crossing 😄 Fab content at always 🥰
I’m from California and think this is absolutely beautiful. I it reminds me a little like the deserts we have here in the sense that it is vast and somewhat lonely. How do u know where to go? Some parts it seems like you are off trail?
I dreamt about pitching a tent last night and that didn’t go well. Don’t know how that got into my head 🤔 Your video was a great watch by the way. Saw some real Flora moments 😂😂. Looking forward to Part 3.
Beyond the Ultimate. Same people who do the Spine race! They do some epic stuff (this is probably their easiest race 🙈). Great team, super friendly & supportive 🤗 welcome to the channel!!
Ok been wondering this every time I see you intro. @ 32 secs wat is that pink stuff under the avocados???? Whenever I see it I think it’s like a think slice of bologna (Gross) I kno it’s not but what on earth is it? Yay another fun adventure!!
Lucked out on that weather 🙃 Certainly is a beautiful place. Injuries are horrible, I'm not good with distances because of easily being injured no matter what I do to try and avoid them 😒 Just have to live those ultra distances vicariously through your channel 🤣
Rugged country, eh? Which makes turning an ankle when wearing running shoes fairly common, as you found. Great effort though. Were you wearing waterproof socks? These are brilliant in the wet. I wear mine when MTBing.
Haha yes pretty tough terrain there! I was not - we were wading through knee deep rivers so would have had to be wearing fishing waders to avoid getting wet 😂

Pretty much sums it up!

Boise Idaho has a similar views in the foothills, but no bog. It's a high desert. Pretty spectacular and bleak at the same time.
Great effort Flora, very interesting video series. I love your humour.
Beautiful scenery! (sorry about your ankle)

Those river crossings! Did you have waterproof socks, or change to dry socks during the day, or just go with wet feet the whole time?
Looks super tough but incredible scenery 👌 you’re certainly one strong lady 👊
Wow love the scenery something i would love to run myself... finish kinda sucka tho haha
Great effort Flora, hope your ankle is okay for day 3 💪🏃♀️

I never saw myself as an ultra runner...but those views are stunning. 😳
They were incredible! Well worth the effort
i’m from south florida, and those views were BREATHTAKING! but i also think abandoned buildings are beautiful, so maybe i love the desolation, hahah.

We were definitely off trail 😅 there were red flags or verbal directions at each checkpoint 😊 still thought we were getting lost a lot!
I enjoy your running videos Flora, keep running and doing videos!, congrats. One quick question, what is the running watch that you use?
I use garmin fenix 6s pro solar 😊

Good to some reforestation. All that area would have been impassable temperate rain forest before we came along.

It's hiking not a Ultramarathon
Hiking is a gait, ultramarathon is a distance. What's your point?
