That's why Kitana looks like that - she is the Kitana from MK11 who became Khan of Outworld.

in this timeline, Cage isn't married to Sonya. Sonya is nowhere to be seen even though she and Jax are referenced in one ending (yes I know, Sonya is technically in the kameos part as well as an evil version of her as both Kano and herself in the final battle), so Cassie isn't around, which means that this is an evil version of Cassie alongside Takeda, Jacqui and Kung Jin.
Anyone notice that it seems the only one that survived is takeda and he’s the only one playable, all he got was maybe stabbed in the in arms/chest and thrown while the others where decapitated.
The fact that these character models exist in hoping they become playable sometime in the future!! Takeda is gonna be playable on KP1 so I’m hoping Kung Jin is too someday again!!! (Cassie and Jaquie were playable on MK11 so I’m not too worried if they aren’t present in MK1 as playable characters)

I love how Cassie single-handedly defeated a powered-up demonic Shinnok in X, but she gets absolutely curb-stomped and killed by Kitana in five seconds here. Characters really are only as strong or as weak as the narrative needs them to be.
