I like how Johnny talked about his Dad or family other than Sonya and Cassie, kinda always wanted to know more about them. Like his mother or possibly siblings.
Well in the MKX prequel comics Johnny states to himself that the reason why him and Sonya split-up was because she reminded him of his dad and not in the right way hinting that Johnny's father was a somewhat successful businessman who put work, and profit ahead of his family which in turned caused Johnny to resent him and eventually hate him somewhat along with hinting that apparently Johnny had called his dad out on his bad habit of putting his job, and making money over spending time with, Johnny, and Johnny's mom multiple times with Johnny's dad doing what Sonya did and automatically assume and accuse of Johnny being a spoiled brat who's throwing a "temper tantrum over not being the center of attention."
Johnny does have a sister. I can't remember which game but I think his bio in armageddon or one of the games before that stated he has a younger sister named Rebecca Carlton. Not sure if she exists in the new timeline but its canon he did have a sister who we never saw. It's the same for the Sub Zero brothers too who many don't know also have a sister who lives in America that we never saw. It makes me wonder what other characters in mk have siblings who we still aren't aware of.

Also the fact that he crushes younger Johnny sunglasses, something Johnny Cage love the whole lot, enough to spend $500 on them according to a movie, shows how much he's grown and matured

This really shows how mature Johnny Cage has been getting throughout the new timeline. In MK9 he definitely started out as a dick who was overconfident and was immature thinking everything was like a movie but during the MK3 part of the game he definitely got serious, then in X he was still cocky and had some of that Johnny personality but had wised up and became more responsible and mature, now we see a much more older, laid back but fully developed and serious johnny, knowing that things are not like a movie and respects his daughter being a commander while past johnny was acting like a jackass.
I love that while future Johnny can still be an asshat, he's at least now very much aware he's an asshat. 'Even you don't take me seriously, Cage' 'There's very little I do'
Sonya's so focused on her Johnny, she completely fails to notice what a great guy future Johnny is. She should be thinking, "how did Johnny turn into such a catch, and how can I speed up the process?" Also, young Johnny should be glad he lost that fight. It means he gets even stronger.

Fortunately, you can beat your children! That was a dark joke i made to make light of and cope with the abuse i suffered as a child. Don't beat your children.
@Sean A friend of mine at work said "Youth is overrated". She is right.
God I still cringe at some of the dumb stuff I did in the past. Would love to go back and smack some sense into my younger self
this scene made me respect Johnny, I always hated him for his attitude but now he's one of my favourite characters now that he's grown up
This is Taking the line “Stop Hitting Yourself” to A Whole Nother Level.
Or don't beat yourself up
(2:24)
Derrick Haggard daamn.
Tbh I want to see the person of who Johnny cage is the descendant of
Johnny does have a sister.
@@datboy174 holt shit I want know what sub zeros sisters life is like and actually talk about her
Deep down, we all wish we could do this to our past selves.
Sorta
Ohhh, I would pay so much money to beat the shit out of my past self, if I could. Holy shit, I'd pay so much.
I can honestly say you are right, man. Not a day goes by without me thinking to go back in time and kick my younger self in the teeth for breaking up of my first girlfriend who loved me more than I could've known back then.
Yeah
Old me thinks I know everything so yeah
0:57 Younger Johnny shouldn't have said that, but they're in a universe with Gods, demons, monsters, alternate dimensions, people coming back to life, cyborgs, people getting back up after having their bones broken and THAT'S what shooked them?
They’ve seen gods and demons, but they’ve never seen time travel before.
@@alexanderchristopher6237 Also for Older Johnny, he had JUST (mentally) buried Sonya, gotten used to the fact that she's gone, so that little comment which past (living) Sonya heard? Well were I in his shoes, if it were past me, I'd kick his ass right there and then.
@@alexanderchristopher6237 With all the crazy shit in the MK universe I honestly thought they would think that some one would be time travelling by now.
Stupidity literally trumps every force in the universe and multi-verse. Also dont act like that wouldnt have caused a head turn. Especially if you were old johnny cage.
Oh come on guys
Seeing supernatural stuffs everyday is probably normal
But seeing people no manners would shock me too
This character development gave me a whole newfound respect for Johnny. And the most laughs. 😂
I like it when Johnny acts like a man
Aqsem oh I forgot I put that there-
Aqsem I took it off now
Pause
COVID-19 it would’ve been funny if u said FREEZE, no actually I meant SNEEZE
2:24 that slap was hilarious 😂
Isn’t it satisfying when the insufferable character takes a moment and actually realizes how stupid they sound to everyone else?
Even more satisfying when its himself
Especially when his Older & Wiser Self beats some Sense into him
I like how this shows how much Johnny has grown as a person. Johnny's now father and though he does have his cocky one-liners, doesn't try to prove that he's the greatest fighter of all time. Also the fact that he crushes younger Johnny sunglasses, something Johnny Cage love the whole lot, enough to spend $500 on them according to a movie, shows how much he's grown and matured
MKX is the best thing that could have happened to Johnny.
True. He's still funny as Hell, but you can see how far he's come since being the clueless actor invited to the Mortal Kombat tournament.
It's sad knowing that this Johnny is the new time line Johnny, while the original is dead along with pretty much everyone else.
@@Smasho8000 no the timeline never got reset in Mk Armageddon Raiden just sent a message to his past self which changed the future
You can tell that Johnny had a bad father figure and he said that Hollywood turned him even worse yet he changed on his own for his little daughter so that he could be better than his dad and i just love it.
Meanwhile 2 Soldiers see older Johnny and younger Johnny fight. Then the soldiers place bets.
Oh weres the popcorn!? 🍿
2:49 "If Raiden is here, i would rather him to replace me to kick this Mini-Me Ass So I can Complete My Job in My Room Instead." - OLD Johnny Cage, 2019
Andrew Bowden NAILED this role, from the progression from cocky younger version to the older version, and then this combination of the two. Great performance.
0:21 Young JC: God I like Her so much.
Old JC: Me too.
3:19 “Johnny, no! You’ve created a time paradox!”
Old Johnny: Damn! I was an Asshole!
Young Johnny: Damn! I'm gonna be an Asshole!
The older Johnny teaching his past self a little something called humility and respect
2:10 Johnny Cage (MK9): Untwist your panties, older me. I'm a star.
Johnny Cage (MK11): *This* is a *military operation,* not a movie set.
Johnny Cage (MK9): I'm only the best fighter here. But your daughter's got me sitting at the kids table.
Johnny Cage (MK11): *Our* daughter is C.O. A little humility might earn her respect.
Johnny Cage (MK9): Dad always said, "Hungry people eat lunch, humble people serve it."
Johnny Cage (MK11): Dad was an *asshole!* Hollywood made *us* an even bigger one.
I rly like how Johnny went from funny and weird to being all serious thru out mk9-mk11. Learning from mistakes and wrong things he did back then and teaching past Johnny ab these was perfect! Character development there! :))
2:13. He finally realized that past johnny
2:24 Beauty Punch
More like slap
🤣
Johnny Cage is the embodiment of "if you cringe at your past-self it means you've grown as a person"
Every MK Player:
Narrator: FIGHT!
MK Player: Hol up imma check move list
🤣🤣🤣🤣
0:55 Damn bro, you got the whole squad laughing
I don't see them laughing
@@silverstrike5904he meant us not the soldiers
Older Johnny is definitely screaming internally 'was I really this much of an asshole?'
2:37 Epic Line 🤣
This really shows how mature Johnny Cage has been getting throughout the new timeline. In MK9 he definitely started out as a dick who was overconfident and was immature thinking everything was like a movie but during the MK3 part of the game he definitely got serious, then in X he was still cocky and had some of that Johnny personality but had wised up and became more responsible and mature, now we see a much more older, laid back but fully developed and serious johnny, knowing that things are not like a movie and respects his daughter being a commander while past johnny was acting like a jackass.
Johnny cage, beat character development ever. Humbled, confident, a more accomplished star than his younger self will ever be.
2:51 I love how Older Johnny looks at Younger Johnny like, “Are we really doing this right now?”
Johnny Cage is my favorite example of character development
They should’ve made Older Johnny say “You’ll thank me for this later. Oh wait! Thank you older me!” *pats self on the back*
I love that while future Johnny can still be an asshat, he's at least now very much aware he's an asshat.
'Even you don't take me seriously, Cage'
'There's very little I do'
Old Jonny: was I really this stupid and annoying
Him saying "You got Lucky" is hilarious
This scene really shows how much Johnny has matured and grown as a person.
0:21
Older Johnny looks at Sonya with love while younger Johnny looks at Sonya with lust.
I loved how everyone stopped what they were doing to look at Past Johnny after he said that. It also funny he was dragged out by his ear.
Older Johnny: Oh God, was I really this cringey?
Sonya's so focused on her Johnny, she completely fails to notice what a great guy future Johnny is. She should be thinking, "how did Johnny turn into such a catch, and how can I speed up the process?" Also, young Johnny should be glad he lost that fight. It means he gets even stronger.
Sonya: I can fix him
I do love that Johnny gets a character development, from a super star Jackass to a proper man who became a father.
Yes we do still have the smart ass One liner
Johnny is still snarky, but in a much more mature way.
“Dad was an asshole! Hollywood made us an even bigger one.”
Now I’m curious. What was Johnny’s life like growing up? How bad was his dad? What about his mom?
I think because his father blind to him with the holly wood frame in Fortune got through his head so basically he’s saying the Hollywood made us a bigger one because his father was a complete douche bag so Hollywood made him a double douche bag
The old Johnny is a wise man, despite his attitude. As the saying goes: you gain experience as you get old.
1:25 poor choice of words, oh she definitely rubbed off on him alright 😉
“That woman over there, she’s the real deal.” He says that with such love and truth that it breaks my heart that old Sonya isn’t around to hear that.
It's very interesting to saw Johnny Cage teach his Past Self a Respect.
And there's me thinking I'd make it through the clip without laughing. Then he just whips out another pair of sunglasses! Classic Cage!
I love the "Is this what it's like to put up with me?" trope to death, and this is that done to a higher level.
Old Johnny punches young Johnny’s balls.
Cassie: I don’t feel so good!
Sơn Phan double impact Johnny vs Johnny van damme vs van damme
It’s so weird seeing cage without sunglasses
4:48 he could've said "just cause you're me, still the best fighter in the whole operation"
The way johnny old broke young johnny glasses and he take another one out of his jacket it so funny thoght 🤣
When Johnny Cage breaks his own sunglasses, that's when you know crap's about to go down.
Younger Jonny Cage: Gets hit hard In the balls, breaks several bones
Young Cage: *wipes the dust off his shoulders and walks it off*
Johnny became one of my favorite characters MK9 because of how cool he acted. MKX really changed Johnny but I liked how he’d grown. MK11 was just so satisfying to see him beat on his old self.
this scene is so good. i've seen a lot of time travel movies but this interaction is just gold
Man it's weard hearing (old) Johnny talk like that people grow t an unrecognizable rate both physically and mentally
Future Johnny: I'm about to give *you* an ass kicking *I'll* remember.
2:53 "Hey Johnny, Have you been drunk with Bo Rai Cho?" - ARMY Johnny Cage, 2019
Let's be honest, if we all met our own past selves...the interactions wouldn't be so different from this
Wait johnny cage teach his past himself
Best scene in the entire game.
Feels weird going back to a time when Johnny Cage wasn't dancing to International Love.
