I'm a DPS main but my 3rd most played hero IS Moira, and all the little optimizations you can do with supports exist on every single hero in the game. When DPS players call those 3 Low skill heroes, it's in reference to the skill floor being very high and forgiving in most situations, especially compared to DPS characters that require insane mechanics just to function at a basic level. You can be an insane Moira, Brig, or Mercy player, but most, MOST, people who play those heroes are terrible, and are at a higher rank than they would be on any other hero.

Nolan used more healing orbs to make this video than he he did in the past 2 years in comp. There are some legends about the day he missclicked and healed his teamates.

Fade jumping was hard to learn but when you pull it off, it's so helpful. And when you do it to attack a character that thought they were safe, the moment of surprise when you appear where they didn't think you could reach is always priceless.
Fun, albeit risky last-ditch Moira trick versus a McCree who has managed to sneak up on you at close range: If you know you're not going to be able to fade away in time, or if fade is on cooldown, right as he's moving forward to throw the flashbang, run and jump forward 'into' his hitbox through the flashbang's trajectory. If you time the jump correctly, with enough momentum you will land *on top of McCree's head as the stun connects* , effectively hiding your own head hitbox and forcing him to quickly aim up to try and connect any bullets from fan the hammer, while you wait out the stun. Once the stun is over, you can immediately follow up with either a heal orb to recover from any shots he landed, or if you're in good shape, toss a damage orb at his feet, which will linger longer than normal and deal more of its damage to the McCree due to the elevation you get from standing on top of him and the slowdown from locked-on damage orb ricochet. Couple that with grasp and quick melee, and you can actually turn what would have been a losing fight around.
to be fair her kit sometimes can encourage a more DPSey playstyle which I think you could understand how that’s triggering when you don’t get healed because of it
(not saying the concept of a two-sided heal/damage character is a bad one, just perhaps the way it’s currently implemented creates some bad incentives)
@@squidbacon7397 the problem is more when you play as moira and actually emptying ur entire bladder onto ur teammates and then have to refill by right clicking and some tunnel visioning tank or dps goes omg dps moira trash. it's like she is always the easy go to for ppl to project their own bad gameplay which in turn almost always loses the entire match because just the mere fact that she exists as a character can tilt people
@@voixlavoix Yeah exactly, I had a Brigette player once tell me to heal more even though I had 50% more heal score than them... Once you run out of juice you have to go offensive, but I enjoy that balance.
Another tip in the sombra match up is to wait for cancellable ults on your team to go out and accompany the ults with your damage orb to try and zone out her hack.
The most annoying thing about Moira is that her fade cleanses FRIENDLY effects as well... I remember it being the most noticeable back when she had that teamwide fade thing in the experimental card. Playing Zenyatta or Ana was a nightmare because healing orb and yellow nade were getting cleansed every few seconds

moira is such a good hero but gets little to no love :( she’s extremely resourceful & puts out insane amounts of heals if cd and engagements are done right
What I like to do as Moira is stay close to my tank and keep them healed up. I'll use my damage orb to start and end team fights, use healing orb with primary healing and attack at as great a distance as her range allows. I like to save my fade to get back behind friendly lines if my health gets low. An online friend of mine just started running mercy, between our tank and his and my healing, we can usually win team fights consistently.

She's simple to get a basic level of value, but pretty difficult to extract maximum value. There's so many little tips and tricks that add up!
