How often do you acknowledge the works of God? How often do you recognize what he’s doing in your life? In this passage from Tobit, the Archangel Raphael is encouraging us to pay attention to the works of God-not only in our lives, but in the lives of those around us. He is constantly present, even in our most mundane tasks. But how often do we notice his works, note his presence and goodness, and declare it to the world?
Today, Fr. Mike encourages us to acknowledge the presence of God in our lives through 3 steps: noticing, noting, and declaring.

When I asked St. Francis to find me an acceptable pet and, as St. Francis often did , I opened the bible to a passage --- it opened to the Book of Tobit where St. Raphael tells Tobias to pull the cataracts off Tobit's eyes, I was intrigued and thought to myself this is where they got the idea for cataract surgery. The next day I found a tiny scared kitten in my yard and the kitten had a cataract on her eye -- I knew this was the answer to my prayer and I called the kitten Tobit.
"This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad".
As someone who lives in the hood and being safe ik its God protecting me.

Hey guys, just a heads-up to make sure when praising the works of God, don't fall into the sin of pride and the “holier than thou” vibe because that repels people instead of bringing them in. It turns the focus on the person (I love God so much and you don't haha feeling), and Satan can use our good intentions and works and twist them to make them sinful. Just a reminder!

@Traditional Catholic Skyler has a good point; we may, on the outside, be praising God - but our inner heart is one of 'I'm glad I'm holier than you' - similar to Jesus' story of the high priest and the sinner - where the priest says to himself he is glad he isn't like that sinner. God admonishes the priest - but has mercy for the sinner. Yours is a good point, too - satan doesn't twist good into evil - but we can. :-)
@Traditional Catholic No, that’s not what I meant. Sorry for the confusion. We can have good intentions, but can twist it into something sinful like being prideful. Ex. Let’s say I want to help at a food pantry, but then tell myself “Wow, I’m such a great person” (pride).

I was just sitting and reflecting on the journal prompt i have for today, thinking that i couldn't think of a single thing to write about in answer of the prompt i chose for today. Not even 30 seconds after thinking this i looked at my phone and saw the notification for this video. I had to laugh at the title of the video because no joke my prompt for today (word for word) is "where did you see God in your life today?". Well i have something now lol! God has a sense of humor 💙

I was waiting for my table yesterday, outside in 105F(40C) weather. After 30 minutes I said, God please help, I can't stand it anymore. Within 30 seconds, the door opened and we got our table. When we arrived someone immediately "by mistake" brought us an appetizer. Then they apologized and said that we can have it for free. During the dinner, again they "mixed up" my order and brought me a different dish. Again, they apologized and basically told me I can keep it for free. I started laughing and said to my husband, see, God loves us so much :D :D :D Praise be Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour :)

Watching this at 12 midnight. This year has been very difficult for me for my family with all the financial and emotional issues at the moment in the middle of the pandemic. Now I'm crying because I know God is here and I have to be patient to His own way that He will provide us on our needs in His time and lift us from rock bottom.

I believe it was no co-incidence that the day (18 years ago) i realized God loves my son even more than i do, and i gave him to God, that was the last day he drank. I let him go and went on with my life and he says he knew when i gave up... that it was up to him (knowing he couldn't stop)he cried out to God. Trust God.❤🙏🏼

I'm sitting in the middle of winter. Today it was above freezing. God gave me a day off from listening to the faucets run. Now the temp's have dropped and I am thankful to God for the water running again. No frozen pipes! There are days in my life that are so dark and I have felt the presence of the Lord. The only thing I can say is Thank You, God.
Since sept 11 2020 when I let Jesus into my heart and soul I’ve never been the same. He touch my soul and made me new. I used to think people just say that , but it is actual fact. He touches you and you see the world different and live different and live in God as he lives in me 🙏🏻😇

God is glorious today bringing first rain then sun so the kids can go swimming. Then he sent word healing a marriage of a niece . God sent me gift of removing dead tree from property for free!!!! It's hard to talk about the Lord when anyone I talk to him about roll their eyes. I talk alot about him and biblical history cause it makes me feel pumped yet there aren't many believers my age where I live.

On Wednesday evening I was sitting outside watching my dogs, and, I noticed the lighting bugs flying around and how they make a light show in the darkness of the night. God blessed me and all who see with the beauty of these tiny creatures. Thank you Father.

Im very grateful to God, my mom has been in ICU and my aunt passed away. My mom is stable enough that my dad, son and I can drive an 1 1/2 away to go to my aunts funeral. That is the hand of God. He has always saved me. Thank you god for miracles

Quaker here. In Quaker teachings, we're taught to 'see the God' in everyone, and I feel that the most in the silence of the meeting house, where we're all sat together. Actually sitting in stillness makes me feel so close to God and the others around me because it's such a pure moment of reflection.

Was just thinking about this! Yesterday at work, when grabbing the metal detector and shovel to look for survey control, I was about to put my headphones in to listen to music like I do about 60-80% of the time. But at that moment my hands were full and even with eventually having one hand free, I couldn’t be bothered to take my airpods out and put them in. Right after that thought, I chastised myself for being so glued to my phone and being plugged in constantly. So I decided I would intentionally take note of and not ignore my surroundings and really take in the beauty of the day that God made. We should all do this more often.
Yep I also have this habit of using my earphones all the time. As for results I'm afraid of silence because I know my thoughts will go wild and I panick if they're not with me. This week at Eucharist adoration I made the promise to Our Lord that I'll spend a week without using them and live in silence and meditation. Today's my second day. Not easy pray for me😅

Started the blessings of my waking moments today trying to focus on the NOW ; a sermon/book of it's own! Read of Saint Mother Theresa's locutions, recommitted to Focus, then this video lesson found me and among other blessings, the lesson whispered : honor Him through knowing Him and He is in ALL.
Imagine that: God has a plan for each of us AND it involves ALL of us!

It's always good to say thank you to God whether big or small and tell him that we appreciate all of his glory every day.
Thank you for this video, and putting words to the thoughts I have, and I’m sure others do too. The more I spend time with Jesus and Mary, the more I see them in the moments. I finished the 33 Days to Morning Glory on May 13, and that day I ovulated early and became pregnant! Not my plan, but Gods, and this sign was so clearly from above. A few days later I found a sticker under my water filter that I hadn’t seen for months, and it is of Mary holding baby Jesus. Jesus knew I needed these obvious signs.
God works in so many subtle and obvious ways.
I often drift away from spending time in prayer and I notice that I live life more “asleep”. Thank you for this video and beautiful reminder. God Bless!
I note what happens by writing every day 3 things for which I am grateful for. I call these writings my Deo Gratia Thank you God. A Benedictine nun showed me this and this what she called this So be grateful, every day is a blessing. It changed my outlook on life as I tended to always complain. No not everything in my life is great, amazing but I try to focus on the great, the good, the silver lining

Regardless of the weather, when I step outside, I look up, and I say thank you for this is the day the Lord has made. Whether it’s snowing or it’s raining or it’s gorgeous, the Lord made the day for us to do our work for him in it, some days are harder than others. Sometimes you wonder how you’re gonna get through the fifth gray day in a row. But I still believe that we thanked the Lord for what he has given us, and we said about doing our work for him regardless of the day.

Such an important thing father. Not only to see God in all things but to give thanks and praise for those things! Even things made at the hand of man are from God. As an example a beautiful day out - “ah lord it is so amazing out. How great you are for being able to make such a perfect day, the works of your creation are amazing as are you” - I think and pray these types of things constantly and at times speak them.
Most important getway from this: Take every minute as if it was coming from God
I'd like to ask you a question, if we are to give thanks and recognition to God for all of the things we perceive as good, what should we do about the things we perceive as bad? Should we give thanks to God for these as well since we should have confidence they are all necessary for God's perfect plan or should we curse God for letting these things happen to us?
@@tomandrews1429 That's a bit like bringing up the problem of evil (that is "If God is real, why do bad things happen?"), so not a small matter. Anyhow I think you should acknowledge that everything is part of God plan, the bad events that happen in your life are either wanted directly by God, or He simply allows them to happen. Keep in mind that God is good in spite of whatever might happen in your life
