- Today we leave our beach guesthouse in Rayong, Thailand and travel South East to The Island of Koh Chang or Elephant Island. After a quick ride on the ferry, we are welcomed into one of the largest resorts in the country and begin by checking into our accommodation before renting a motorbike and having dinner. Enjoy the Ride!

An absolutely stunning view out of your hotel window, the room looked impressive, a great base for exploring the local area, 3 nights is the sweet spot, for a quick break, the beach looked perfect.

Suggest you get Vee some travel tablets. My wife doesn't do travel so we get her some tabs and she's fine. I did like your comment that you have finally found that Pattaya isn't the end all of Bugger all. And you might move later. I lasted almost 7 year before it drove me out. Have never been so happy. You'll also save yourself a small fortune, as Vee says Pattaya is expensive, and I can assure you there's much better places to live in Thailand. Your life will change and be all the better for it. Another great Vlog, await the next one.

Ko chang is one of the best place in Thailand, they have a great poolbar if you follow the road straight to the sea after you pass the gate to the resort. Very nice to relax there after a round of golf, you can order food to the pool also. Thanks for a lovely vid as always

Really enjoyed this video Lucas, looks a great place. I agree with you when you say that Pattaya in "full flow" is probably not the best place to live, as long as it's near by when you feel like a night on the tiles.

Love Koh Chang especially the eastern side of the island, away from the crowds (maybe not a factor atm). Plenty of areas to explore over there. Have fun.

Patts is a hard partying town thats getting more n more crowed and hectic ! South Beach Bangkok I call it !
Sattahip down south is mellow rural lifestyle ! You can always go try Hua Hin area, namely PranBuri where they have great priced homes to rent or buy !
Rayong to Patts is easy if you want stay on the eastern seaboard ! Sunsets from the beaches over the Gulf of Thailand are great !

Thai ferry schedules all over the coastlines are weird ! Posted times aren't what really going on ! I think they want to wait and fill up the ferry packed !
Nice golfers paradise estuary area with beach access too ! Large enough to live for a week there ! Koh Chang has beautiful nature parks ! Miss Thailand too much ! ❤

The Resort and the room is amazing. The view is great. Vee might be sick from the Noodle house you stopped at. Not all the noodle houses are safe.

Agree but the sparsely furnished room also looks pretty industrial to me. Not sure whay everyone loves it. Maybe it's not finished yet. A huge space underused.
Those plants that look a bit like bonzai trees that you saw at the noodle soup place are adeniums, aka impala lilies or desert roses or chuan chom in Thai. They are indigenous to dry areas in North and Southern Africa, but they are now very common in Thailand and there are many beautiful varieties that have been cultivated locally.

If Vee gets car sick, first of all tell her to ride in the back seat. Second ginger snaps are amazing against sea sickness , or land . Just sugar coated ginger basically. Third reading or looking into a phone makes it worse.
should have brought your big bike with the big tyres to explore the resort, wow how big is the room, wow huge balcony, I stayed in a penthouse once in Australia, the balcony was 11m x 2m. Was that Dan from Dan about Thailand, resort manager, looked like him. Land size of resort 200R, = 79 ACRES. What a beautiful smile the cook had at the Tee restaurant,

Back to Koh Chaing…….just love it there, but motorbiking around the island can be treacherous…..so many steep inclines and declines….be safe driving!

Yeah I was not impressed either when you first drove up to the hotel, but yes its a large room , but with no proper floor carpets or furniture, seems to me 2 chairs and a full size sofa is missing as well as end tables, a proper cocktail table and lamps! You could even fit a small kitchen table in there too! Very nice shower. Huge veranda but with no outdoor patio furniture except those 2 small chairs... Nice view! Hope you both have fun!
Hey Loucos, my Thai GF also suffers from travel sickness (boats, cars & buses) and we've found that her using one of my Airpods in her ear whilst travelling (Only one & there's no music or anything playing whilst she's wearing it) really helps - Something to do with travel sickness being caused by an inner ear imbalance and wearing 1 earphone/plug helps with the balance.
Am travelling from Pattaya to Koh Chang myself on Wednesday, hoping the weather is ok (last couple of times it rained & KC is pretty miserable when it's raining :( )

Hi, Lucus & Vee enjoyed your video. Now, this room with one of the best views I have ever seen from a hotel or private property. Absolutely breathtaking. To wake up to that is worth anything you might pay. With such a large balcony you would have thought that they might have made some effort. I did not see a table where are supposed to put your drinks or food? I would ask for one you're there for three days. The beautiful room has it all and looks lovely. Please wear a jacket and long pants out on the bike.

2) was Vie playing on her phone before she got car sick? My thai wife does that repeatedly. I guess the draw of the phone is more powerful than the pain of car sickness.

Hey Lucas... :) Don't forget to pack a couple of limes on your trip for seasick or car sickness. Cut and Sniff for about 5-10 minutes and cured (Mayan remedy).... No joke it works every time! :) Thanks for the adventure! rb

Lucas, are considering on acquiring a pickup or small suv down the road? It seems you’re using a vehicle a bit more often lately. There are a lot of limitations on motorbikes (cons for owning a vehicle in Thailand too). Vee’s car sickness will go away😂😂

I could be wrong but when i went on the ferry the same as you , i read my car hire insurance while on koh Chng and realised that it is invalid if you go on a ferry in a hire car.
