BUT! Using the Flip 4 and Charge 4 in party mode results in a really nice dynamic sound profile with good bass and clear highs and mids. The Charge 4 basically gives the Flip 4 the bass it falls a bit short on and Flip 4 gives the Charge 4 a bit more highs.
The entire sense behind this is having a portable charger, not a 90kg big ass speaker u cant take anywhere, and the sound isnt cleaner just has more bass

Really good interview you hit a lot of points. I can actually tell the sound quality difference. I like that you can charge your phone with the charge 4 but the sound quality is a con.
if you put the charge 4 in low frequency mode, it drastically increases treble and bass quality and dB's of both. hold down the bluetooth button and volume down button at the same time for 10 seconds and do another review. lights will blink when LF mode is activated. do the same to switch back to "sound bad mode" this is not at all dangerous as JBL states and will not hurt your speaker. this video is very misleading because flip 4 shouldnt even be compared to a charge 4. night and day in every category. you can also run LF mode on other JBL speakers too and it drastically improves the sound quality.
Charge 4 has more bass that's it. Mono speaker please that's crap. Charge 4 is 30 watts the flip 4 is 16 watts. $75 price difference for 14 watts, no thank you I had both and honestly the charge 4 wattage seems like it goes to the bass. The highs and mids are same as flip 4. The flip 4 has pretty good bass. I mean I have 6 of them so it's boomin. Just get two flip 4's for the same price
I will have to go for the big speaker because what I learned in medical class was that the bigger the instrument which is the bigger speaker the lowest bass it would have even a small speaker has also the bass
I have both and every now and then I wonder which one I prefer Flip 4 is amazing with treble and vocals and charge 4 with dance and bass based songs... So they are actually not comparable and yet complementary. I totally recommend both connected at the same time for a complete experience. If you ought to select only one then of course get the flip 4 since is more versatile across different genres and you can also answer calls while charge 4 does not have a mic.

Just gave up my beloved special edition camo flip 4 for a charge 3 camo edition i had so much fun with the flip 4 i almost feel sad waiting for this charge 3 to come in. I will definitely be buying the flip 4 again when i can though i love how small but potent it is and the string is an extra bonus to secure it to things or hang it from something but i also couldnt pass up the extra sound richness from a bigger speaker

Pretty much all Bluetooth speakers under 200 dollars have shitty bass, including the Charge 4. Strong bass runs through a battery like a knife through butter
It just depends on what you're going to use it for. If you care more about portability, I'd go with the Flip 4. If you care more about the overall volume and deeper bass, I'd go with the Charge 4.
Sony SRS xb31....do not use a JBL as it has visible passive radiator and if it falls once on it's side the radiator will tear resulting in pathetic bass.......use the xb31 as it is very well covered and durable.....this is my review

I bought a flip 4 off a kid at work for 20.00 he said it was blown up .i was like ok. Took it back to my toolbox at work i am a electrical fabricator and deal with a lot of metal dust and shavings. Ling story short. Metal dust had coated to whole speaker cone and stoped it from moving up and down. I blew it out with air cleaned it up and boom. 89.00 speaker for 20.00 this thing rocks

Yeah, my Flip 4 lasts 1-2hrs at 80% volume now. I listen to black/death/prog metal so there's usually a wall of sound happening - not sure if affects battery, but I assume it does. I can't really use it without it being attached to a powerbank now. Pretty damn annoying and I'm debating whether to get the Charge 4 or the new Flip 5 now.

sound bad mode is low frequency mode it killed my speaker
I use LF mode on my flip 4 and works fine and sounds great.

It’s not designed to work with any JBL speakers that don’t have PartyBoost. So, it won’t work with your JBL Connect or Connect+ speakers.
