  • Over time with the constant use and the odd kick back, the fence on my Makita chop saw is no long true. I can not buy a fence so I am adding and shimming plywood that will become my new fence. Without some machining to repair the original one this is the quickest and most inexpensive way of trueing up your chop saw fence. This method works whether it is a Dewalt, Bosch, or Milwaukee chop saw as well.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you. The fence on my Makita is a one piece and the two sides are no longer aligned so I was using the shims the do that. Cheaper than buying a new one. Thanks. Stevo

there’s no way to adjust the fence back to square/flush? that’s a shame that it can be permanently damaged in such a fatal way. i would have thought makita would have foreseen this problem and allowed for adjustment

The fence is one piece so if gets a little out you can't adjust it. Might be able to machine it but that would be costly. Thanks. Stevo
