    Great that you show the background stuff, which is so important with Cliffs style. Even Jeff Beck didn't bother with the background playing. Cliff played one long instrumental in Gene's tracks, & it was down to the engineer & producer to mix vocal, background stuff & solos correctly,-& they did a great job!-so have you!

      If you look at one of the studio photos from those Gene Vincent's sessions, you can see a dedicated guitar amp mic picking up Cliff's guitar plus a spaced stereo pair of room mics picking up the band's room sound. I guess the trick was to get the dedicated guitar mic's volume up during solos and down during verses. In some songs, like e. g. Bop Street, the guitar amp's mic was probably completely off, you can barely hear electric guitar in the verses.
      Just a guess though.

      On a serious note, it's a personal thing, and here's a story. When I started to play electric guitar some decades ago, in the place where I lived, there was nearly impossible to find ANY information on rockabilly. The closest thing I could get, was an instructional book on BB King's style. It seemed pretty close, the same chord progressions etc. Still, I struggled to apply it to rockabilly context. But then I got a tape cassette of Gene Vincent with Cliff Gallup playing pretty much the same but it was damn cool rockabilly! And that pretty much defined my own playing style.

      @@kpnash This weekend I've transferred your ten Cliff Gallop Lessons in guitar pro. For me it's the best way to learn and to reach the needed speed. Also I've learned that all the discoverable youtube-Solos of Be Bop A Lula, Race With The Devil and Blue Jean Bop are inaccurate and doesn't reflect the typical Cliff Gallup Style. Thank you for providing this fantastic lessons !!!

    Where is your accent from ?
    I am divided between Scandinavia or Eastern Europe.

    • @kpnash
      @kpnash  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's an Eastern Slavic accent, I was born in the former USSR, like it or not, but I didn't have a choice!
