    Hi Tom.
    Cool channel I just tripped across!
    Fun and informative for someone like me just learning guitar.
    I never picked up a guitar until almost two years ago, I had no idea what I was getting into.
    I practice every day and see improvement every day but it’s turned out to be a lot more of a challenge than I originally “thought”
    Thanks again,
    I’ll be looking forward to your new lessons.

    OK.. dude. your lessons so far are great. I seem to have a irresistible draw to this style of music. I attempted to participate in your youtube open mic but, once your part was complete I could not continue to watch the next musician. Probably because I wasn't subscribed to the next talent in the line up? IDK. Anyway, the only thing I can suggest to make your channel any better is perhaps a "listening lesson". For example a song or two that highlights the concepts you're teaching. Good luck man! I pray for lots of success for you and your channel.

    Love your channel. What key does the laughing lick work in? Keep the videos coming.

    • @tommein
      @tommein  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks David! All the licks are played in A but can be transposed to any key. Whatever the key is, make the first dim chord the same root as the key and it will work (eg - if youre in G start the lick with the first chord 2 frets lower than shown - x x 14 15 14 15 ). You can really make it work almost anywhere; dim chords are fun that way. Hope this helps, and enjoy!

  • @60degreelobwedge82
    @60degreelobwedge82 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tom I have a Guild X 175 Manhattan. I am contemplating adding a Bigsby to it. Would B60 or B70 work. Thank you. I also have a Gretsch G2655T with a B50. Im trying to keep the cost down. lol! What do you reccommend. Thank you. BTW your videos are very clear and concise.. Thank you for posting.

      Thats a good question. I will ask my guitar tech guys at Atomic Guitars and get back to you. Thanks for watching and rock on!

    • @tommein
      @tommein  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just talked to my friend and master luthier Tim at Atomic Guitars ( www.atomicguitarworks.com ). He said that he would need to measure to make sure, but typically, on an archtop, a B60 would probably be better because the angle from the bridge is already good. A B70 with the hold down bar is helpful for solidbodies that are flatter because it helps to give a sharper angle coming down from the bridge, while an archtop already has a good angle coming down from the bridge. Bear in mind that this is without seeing and measuring the guitar. Hope that helps!
      I will probably be having Tim guest on an upcoming video to talk about technical stuff, so watch out for that.
      Thanks!

    Just watched all three videos over twice... and I'm in the office haven't even got my guitar with me!! Excellent ideas and presentation. One, hopefully constructive, comment is that whilst I understand the licks are all moveable it may be an idea to indicate which key they are in and which chords they link when you play them to the tab. Would make it easier to transpose for newer players or those like me who struggle to pickup key signatures, although I think these are mainly in all in key of A?
    Thanks again for your hard work.
