I literally bypassed it... Did the elite 4. Then I continued playing, and forgot about Necrozma 🤣🤣🤣 I cried when I realized I have no necrozma, I thought 10 hours later I killed it without catching... Then went back to the Mountain and was happy that guy was still there in his "almost k. O." Mode 🤣🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈🙈
I got lucky with Ultra Necrozma and cheezed it. I had the Toxic TM and just so happened to find a sturdy Gigalith right outside the cave exit that I had just added to the team
I've always felt that Gen 7 were great games and I had a ton of fun playing them. It's just their replayability kind of sucks since there was so much hand holding and the linear layout.
yea i liked the reason but the last time i played the game i was trying to finish a nuzlocke and then i just ended up stopping and gave the game away after i got to poni island because i didn't care enough

The thing that sucked, for me personally, is that they went from Mega Evolution, something beyond evolution, to Z Moves. I like all the new gimmicks they've made, but Mega Evolution had to be my favorite by far. Just seeing that taken away literally in the next mainstream game kinda hurt, that I couldn't see more pokemon have this ability.
The only disappointment from usum I can think of is taking away the scene of Lillie standing up against her mother from sun and moon... Other than that UsUm is pretty fun.
even then the original scene could be seen as rushed with Lusamine suddenly becoming good. In USUM you still get enough build up to know that Lillie and Lusamine will talk things through and get along even if offscreen. Overall USUM's story is a improvement over the original's.
As someone who likes gen 7 the most, I think it definitely has its flaws, and the flaws especially in SM are really big. IMO the really good stuff just makes it worth it

@@KhanMann66 thats... the whole point of regional variants tho. They made them from kanto because its the oldest and it gives something to the gen 1 plethora. If it was from lets say kalos, it would be less interesting since its new and being shown again. Kanto is a sentiment so using them gives nostalgia and reconciliation

I really hated Z moves. However, I will admit that it felt like they incorporated them into the plot better than they did with megas. And I hate Dynamax more. But, they even incorporated that into the story better than Z moves! Can Game Freak take a good battling mechanic and properly incorporate it into the story like they did with Gen 3 and double battles?

I liked that Megas weren't shoved down your throat as much. They were talked about as mysterious and you got to find them and learn about them if you wanted to. Z moves were more like "ah, you fought the glowy guy in these here woods. Have a crystal that one shots everything!"

for me gen 7 is my favourite because i loves the feel of the region. it really felt like a beautiful place to live. the music was also spectacular. and the anime was amazing.

Yeah it made sense as a concept but unlike game exclusive Pokémon, there's no way to trade the clothes or send them to the other game meaning they're literally just doing it to limit the player's selection. Can't lie tho the clothes were absolute fire and it made me love character customization alot more.

@@cjflamebolt You could order the other clothing options via other players who were wearing them in Festival Plaza & it really wasn't too difficult, although you had to rely on the players who show up in your Festival Plaza to be wearing said items. Also, in Festival Plaza, a lot of items could be dyed with the Dye Shops. For the Dye Shops, there are 1, 2 & 3 Star Shops. 1 Star gave you the regular colors, 2 Star added pastel colors, & 3 Star added dark colors. The likely worst part though was that each color variant was locked behind different Dye Shops/Stalls. Ex. Red 1 Star gives you Red Dye. Green 2 Star gives you Green Dye & Pastel Green Dye. Purple 3 Star gives you Purple Dye, Pastel Purple Dye & Dark Purple Dye. HOWEVER! It was honestly really easy to level up in FP & every time you leveled up, you could talk to Sophocles in the Center Building & he would give you 4 options of new stalls. Say whatever you want about Festival Plaza, but it was genuinely fun, had cool minigames & I liked the shops/being able for my custom character with my cool high-end dyed clothing to show up in other players worlds.
as a gen 6 stan i dont want that at all but its inevitable the game has too many flaws the guy who rushed masuda should be fired cuz you know thats what happened.
I don't care that the rivals are shit, I care about the fact that there are too many cutscenes and forced tutorials. The game just doesn't feel fun. It feels like a Final Fantasy game trying to be a Pokemon game. I have no want to explore, it's just "*sigh* Let's get to the fuckin' next cutscene..."

i agree with all of this and couldn't of said it better myself, but i also care that the rivals are shit. I want a Rival that you love to hate , one that's not redeemable like bede, and is there for the whole game, one thats a step ahead of you at every turn but you still beat every time, one that beats the champ before you even get there just for you to beat him and take his thrown in the same day. i want another Blue, at the very least another hateable antagonistic force like Silver
Damian Skyfire the rivals weren't really bad. And the cutscenes weren't all bad though. Atleast the tutorial stuff gets better as the on. They are linear though. They don't feel like Final Fantasy games to be honest.
The worst thing about Gen 7 for me was USUM not being a sequel. One of the main things that happens in SM is your trainer helps establish a Pokemon League. The entire region was filled with empty lots that could’ve become gyms. It honestly feels like that was their original plan but it became too hard for them to do that so they just gave up. If USUM was a sequel, we could’ve had gym battles which would’ve made the people who wanted gyms back happy, and it would’ve made USUM way more necessary as a game.
The thing about gyms is I like the short intervals of puzzle solving to break up the continuous stream if battles that is the main game. Totems could have been awesome but the puzzles absolutely sucked :/

I loved Z moves. Also the alola games specifically sun and moon have a story that is only surpassed by the unova games. The ultra games have a meh story , but are hella hard to make up for it.
I strongly agree with all ultra beasts, incl. their maps!!! The Red, blue, yellow, Green portals to me though were a super lazy decision not to put extra effort on a very cool dungeon, or more dungeons to put the legendaries in. These 1-screeners that had the Legis in were so uncreative... That was a lazy move tbh.
I'm mad that we couldn't go to Kanto. They had the perfect opportunity to get on the boat with Lillie and that could have been our post game. It's the 20th aniversity so being able to see Kanto after 20 years makes sense. And I agree Hau was done dirty in the game and in the show as well
Remember the "Orange isles" and its championship during season 1/ 2 from pokemon? I really would have wished AT LEAST that they include that, since these 4 isles never made it into a game.... They could have put these as a Post game discovery, to also link to Kanto. I agree, the map was too small and I was disappointed that post-game nothing more came 😔
@@MiaMizuno The map is actually the biggest map in the series, I could see someone feeling that it's small because you're exploring the islands one at a time and a lot of the areas are separated by loading zones.
*USUM being just altered versions of SM (Ttar said before it made SM look like unfinished drafts) *The trailers revealing so much *Ash's Rowlet. I didn't think I could hate a Pokemon more than Dawn's Piplup or Alain's Charizard, but here we are.
They're really aren't all that many routes that are just straight lines in Gen 7 (excluding Ultra Megaopolis and similar Ultra Beast areas, which exist just to fight and catch them). At least to me, there was enough complexity to keep things interesting throughout all the islands.
Those final comments will very likely be forever present in the Pokemon games, the rushed feeling. They keep pushing forward with the technical aspects of the game but within the same window of time. It's far harder to make a 3DS Pokemon game that it was to make a DS one.
My Opinion on Gen 7: Dislikes: Story, Routes, Cutscenes, Tutorial/Handholding, Z-Moves and Post Game. Likes: Music, Characters, Setting. To elaborate on the dislikes, especially the story, it all was just so rushed and half-baked. They story had so much potential but just fell flat and it literally had NOTHING to do with US, you know, the main character! The routes other than like 2, were all linear and boring with just a few hidden areas off the beaten path. The cutscenes I disliked only because my character looked like a massive idiot and for most of them did basically nothing. The fact that there has been so many Pokemon games and GF still insists on putting long ass tutorials in their games ins MIND BOGGLING, and that handholding makes no sense to me since Alola is the second most linear region in all of Pokemon, so it's near impossible to get lost. How I feel about Z-Moves is basically exactly what you said Ttar and the post-game to me is SO important in Pokemon, so the fact that the post game can be beaten in around an hour, and all we have after that is the Pokedex and Battle Tree sucks! Now, my likes. The music is simply AMAZING. It is one of my top 3 favourite Pokemon OSTs, I really appreciate the town music a lot, and so many of the battle themes are epic! I love the Elite 4, Trial Captain and Ultra Necrozma themes so much, and many more, they're just outstanding and invoke so many different emotions for me. The characters are good, and come close to being as good as the Gen 5 characters, but they don't simply because their arks and such are rushed. Lillie is obviously the star of the show, and is the best character in the game, but the resolution just wasn't good. I felt like she, and many other characters would've become the best characters in the entire franchise if the post game expanded on them more and wrapped up the arks sweetly. The region of Alola as well is amazing, although I dislike the route design, that doesn't mean that I don't think some of them look beautiful and so wondrous, I just wished I could've explored them more. The towns are some of my favourites towns in all of Pokemon, Po Town is a massive standout for me because of how unique it was, and the town themes are the cherry on top. Overall, I don't think that SuMo are bad games, but just, mid games with great potential, which I feel is what all the modern Pokemon games are really in my opinion. If GF would just take a 3-5 year break to get back that motivation and creative vision they had back in the day, and just to have a break from this horrid yearly cycle, or even just completely STOP the yearly releases entirely, the games would be just as good, if not better than the games of old.
I'm a HUGE fan of Z-moves. They feel like an anime or RPG powered-up attack, with a whole-ass cutscene, and you wrecking the opponent's Pokemon. I'm even a fan of the dance you do when your Pokemon uses them, it feels like you and the Pokemon are working together to do a powered up attack (especially with the Pokemon-exclusive ones). They're also handled way better than megas were, with all the important trainers (and toward the end, even random trainers) having them.
What really sucks about Gen 7 is that Ttar never finished any of his playthroughs. He never posted the ending of Moon. He didn't post almost all of Ultra Moon. He lost Sun Extreme. And, well... Pokemon Star.
The thing I don’t like about gen 7 are... 1. I can’t lie the game was pretty hand holding. In the beginning of the game I felt like was gaining too much exp for a bit. 2. The expression on the player is very off putting in some scenes I love the story, don’t mind the cutscenes it’s the thing I always look for in games. I really like Z-moves it’s stylish power, Alolan Vulpix. The legendary and UB felt like actual legendary taking effect shaping the world/story. But I can’t lie I’m both frustrated and sad that Lillie left, I wanted her to stay. Another post game event or something with Lillie and Lusamine... When I felt like catching Nebby two things 1. I watch you grow up and time for us to be together 2. I want Lillie to have it, but if she can’t because of the game. I’ll take care it for it. These are some my thoughts.
for me it was the fact that we didn't fight mother beast herself, I thought that the gap in her team was gonna be her joining the battle herself. that way, you'd wear her down until Lillie calls upon nebby to deal the final blow, it would've been such a cool concept for fighting the team lead - fighting a human-pokemon hybrid? would've been so amazing and unheard of!
That damn Rotom Dex in USUM. It constantly gives useless tips, talks about nonsense, and the first time you become champion it keeps saying "congrats, you became champion." I couldn't access my map because I was still new to the map until after Rainbow Rocket. While the rewards were useful, the gimmick as a whole was a massive flump imo. I kid you not, there's no way to turn off the tips as far as I know. And it keeps saying stuff like "hey, you have a mother", or just your average trainer tips. It wouldn't be so bad if it talking didn't prevent you from using the map. At least with the Pokédex, you could press X and select it. There's no Town Map in USUM, though. Just Rotom Dex
The cut scenes aren't a problem when playing the game for the first time but it really hurts the games ability to be replayed since the animations make you lose the will to play again
The worst part about about S&M is the replayability or lack there of. It's fine the first time but upon a second visit the game isn't that strong other than just a one off game.
Gen 7 is the only generation of Pokemon I genuinely got bored with and put down and I've played Pokemon since it first came out. I've always found parts of other generations that I loved but with Gen 7, I really struggle to find something I liked about it, in terms of story execution (I really liked the idea of regional forms)
In regards to Z-Rings...they're "eh". Looking back at them, they feel like a bootleg, budgeted Mega Evolution. Like when I played the games, they had that Mega vibe, but for a one time use, and we get ripped off with no visual difference. I mean, I feel like in a way, Z-Rings were further experiments of what they could do Mega Evolution or other Mega Evolution like mechanics. Like in terms of function and game mechanics, Z-Rings were a cut and copy of Megas, but with more cut than copy. Altho, I did like them; despite the above text😅 They were unique. Like Mega Evolution came from Kalos, and then they put it over to ORAS. Z-Rings were specific to Alola. I feel like that adds to SM and USUM. A mechanic you only see and use in Alola.

Funny thing is, that happens with Gladion in USUM. He leaves for Kanto at the end, but after a certain amount of league rematches he comes back and you battle him.
Gen 7 is one of my favorite gens and til this day i still get angry at how they butchered Lusamine's character in USUM. I still find the overall story of SM to be better than USUM but the potential of USUM could've made it the best in the franchise. Replacing the gyms with Totem was a great concept especially since each Totem felt more like a boss in comparison to gyms from gens 1-6 (Gen 8 did the gym system the best). Also while playing through the games it felt like the totems fit so well into the culture of Alola. The totems are highly respected and the challenge/trial fit in with the aesthetic and feel of Alola, unlike gyms that just feel like a random building that adds a tiny amount of importance to the city/town.
It is the best story in the franchise, and Lusamine isn't butchered, she was a moron in the original sun and moon, developing monomania for ultra beasts for no real reason, whereas in USUM, her crazed personality still exists, but she still has some sort of sense to protect her children and alola, where in the original she didn't care about any of that.
Doing the dexnav for oras and no other gen is a travesty! It was such a great solution without making things so easy. I hate having to go on line and look stuff up and this was that solution. They should have made that a mandatory new feature.

Truly. The old, five frame animation sprites from crystal, had more personality than these 3D models. And it’s because the 3D models are only allowed to have one neutral face, and one neutral pose.
I really love Gen 7, it is my favorite Gen with my favorite games and my favorite Pokémon anime, but I think the biggest flaws of Gen 7 is... ... there is no Mystery Dungeon game.
Wasn’t really a fan but of the Gen 7 Pokémon. There designs could have been a lot better with the exception of the Ultra Beast. As for the story it was decent but I wish they didn’t show Lillie running from the Aether Foundation in the beginning. It would have made Lusamine being crazy a better surprise.
One problem I notice no one else talks about is lack of continuity. I want linear story crossing from game to game. I want my actions from previous games to be felt in later games like in Elder Scrolls. I don't want them to come up with gimmicky shit then toss it aside for new stuff. I want continuity. The newer games don't feel like it's the same world as before. Does anyone actually know what the fuck they're doing now? Cause it seems they're pulling a Final Fantasy with the whole, each game is a completely new similar universe. They first established two timelines in Gen 6 and that was alright but they didn't build up on that and just threw out the Ultra wormholes and different realities bombshell out of nowhere. We didn't hear jack shit about any of that in SWSH. It's like they just threw all that away. It feels like they're not finishing their plotlines. And it just seems like a non put together puzzle. I know they want us to speculate and put a lot of this together ourselves but I'd like some sort of form of, "This is what's happening." I think at its core, this is my main problem with gen 7 and 8. This branches off into so many other problems that I won't get into but you get the point. Plus megas might not have worked well in gameplay, but all they had to do was rework them instead of trying to forget them with a new gimmick and then creating a mess that they then scrapped for a third gimmick that's even dumber than the second one. At least Dynamax/Gigantamax works well gameplay-wise though
When Thamil was talking about “forced sad story’s” all I could think about was the difference in Lillie leaving, and your partner Pokemon leavening (MD) I couldn’t care less about Lillie, it was forced, and wasn’t at all sad, but when you or your partner Pokemon starts leaving in MD with that sad ass “farewell” music, bruh chills, shivers, tears all over. Pokemon needs to take a note out of its own book...

Alright let me explain this to you, Lillie was with you your entire journey and then she is forced to go to kanto to learn more about pokemon and find someone to save her mother. Your partner pokemon was with you your entire journey and then says farewell. Notice how there is nearly no difference? By your own argument then your partner pokemon leaving you in MD is forced, like Lillie or not, your comparison just makes no sense.

BW2 less story than BW1 but still great while wiping the floor with BW1 when it comes to postgame content, PWT nuff said. BW1 great story meh postgame compared to Platinum, BW2, and USUM. I’ll be honest I haven’t played SM ever since USUM came out. DP, thank god platinum was made
Sinnoh is a hard region to surpass having the battle frontier, which dunks on or fulfills the role of all of BW2's introduced facilities. Contests also beat out musicals. The rest of it comes down to unique features which Black and white 2 doesn't have because they are succeeded by future features and one from the past being pyramid. pass powers replaced by rotom powers and O powers, join avenue replaced by festival plaza, dream world completely replaced by pelago. USUM however doesn't have this problem as mantine surf is a great unique mini game and a great new way to earn BP, Worm hole ride is also pretty fun, and alola's refresh system is added on from amie with new healing functionality, and the scout feature of tree allows it to have some uniqueness as a hardcore challenge facility, hardcore being equal levels with the opponent and no box art legendaries and myths, unlike black tower and white tree. There's also a few other features on the level of refresh, like Pokefinder and photo club. But yeah, just because of that frontier Sinnoh pretty much destroys Alola's battle tree, but Alola has good hands on mini games and Pokemon interactivity, pelago also wasn't too bad. Better than Sinnoh though is Johto+Kanto and HGSS's pokeathelon having different stats for every Pokemon, the best stylus mini games out there, but I can't stress mantine surf enough, the ability to earn bp with it and not having to use a stylus makes the mini game my personal favorite and always something to come back to. Pokeathelon objectively speaking has more mini games but little reward for them, but you could definitely go back to them for fun, also HGSS has the Pokemon follow feature which was improved with amie but it's still good enough to earn it even more points. So HGSS is objectively the best game in the series without question when it comes to features, sinnoh 2nd because of the frontier, contests, and follow me feature, Gen 3's Hoenn is 3rd because of its unique battle frontier, contests and secret bases, gen 6's Hoenn is 4th because of improved secret bases and extended roster for contests, and lastly the battle maison allows for triple and rotation formats, Alola's USUM is 4th because of mantine surf along with a bunch of other returning and improved features from gen 5 and 6, and trainer scouting in its main hardcore battle facility, also worm hole ride. My personal favorite is Alola though, it's just a great region to get you to express yourself as it has not only character customization but also battle styles, and it also has quite a lot of fun features, though many are minor in terms of rewards or player interactivity.
The story was fine. The indifferent models for me was also an issue. My major issues with Sun and Moon was the not existing means of leveling a Pokemon up to 100. All you could do is grinding on wild Pokemon which was max at 57 or so, maybe even less. The Chansey S.O.S Battles also not that great improvement in the Ultra games. Also the not connected Overworld was just terrible. Navigating to charizard for flying service all the time, while scrolling through maps didnt help it either. And i found EV Training particularly hard. It's easy, yes, but when you have a complex EV spread, that doesnt make 252 on 2 stats, it's very complicated, especially, when you are not good with numbers. And then there was the change they made to the DS pad, which was pretty much wearing it out fast. This Circle pad is a super fragile thing, that I never touched in XYORAS, but was forced to use in SMUSUM. Especially when breeding. I really don't like the idea of destroying the 3DS with the methods other people came up with, like going into that round pen and jolting that circle pad around to make Tauros spin in Circles to wait for an egg, yet many was doing that. That was my personal reason I cut my time consumption into these games. They was overall no fun to deal with, due to that gameplay changes.
Listen your take on Sun and Moon's story completely misses the point. 1. "Lillie going to Kanto is cheap and a bad (tragic) ending" This should be obvious to anyone who played, and payed attention to the story and Lillie, but going to Kanto is the completion of her story arc. The entire story is built up around Lillie, and her growth as she puts you high on a pedestal as the player. She imitates your moves (telling Nebby to use attacks outside of lab), aspires to be a trainer and says it outright several times, adores you, and if you're a male player she tells you she wants to spend he time travelling with you and withholds her confession. She wants to grow up and step outside her bounds, and the moment she stands up to her mother is the moment where the world opens up to her. From there she grows, and the oppertunity to go to Kanto is the point of her arc. She grew up, she's taking her own journey just like yours so you can stand on equal foot and she can become like you. Don't give me this "cheap" stuff when it's her fucking character thats written out to you. 2. "Boat, why not plane" Geez i wonder if it's because it's a island region with a major theme being water and boats. Besides it just more aesthetically pleasin considering the amount of ports. When did you ever see a large focus on planes in this region? If you really want to be analytical we can go into how it may not be healthy flying a patient at a high altitude considering it fucks with your body. 3. "They didn't even made a ending they just threw her off at Kanto you suck at writing" Partially covered this in 1, but yeah i don't think the story is perfect at all. The entire kanto and Lillie leaving bit is great and i love it even though it breaks my heart. Lillie leaving and growing on her own as her story built up around is great, and you can find the interviews that say from the developers "A lot of people were really sad we made Lillie leave. So we made her stay". They changed it in USUM because of fanservice. The story is lacking in a lot of places and Gladion who has great potential is horrifically underused. 4. Yes USUM is bad Surprise surprise, remaking and changing a previous story just for cashgrab and half-assed ideas turns out to be horrible. They messed up the Ultra Wormholes, which were previously different dimensions, but are now distance based. Let me explain: SM: Dimensions with other beasts which ARE NOT pokemon, and there exists an alternate universe from ours which takes place in the Moon/Sun univserse with the 12 hour difference dependent on which copy you own. USUM: Distance and light years. Effectively this means that all the pokemon we meet through the holes are not UB's but just pokemon. The alternate world including both the 12 hour world difference, and the one with UB-Glutton? Yep perfectly idential worlds with same characters, events, and peope like us. Out there is another Lillie with same name events, mother, etc. from our world. And like what you said concerning Lusamine. YES LUSAMINE IS INSANE. In SM from the confrontation with the UB's when her husband was taken, which is why she models her clothes that way and she is implied to be intoxicated slightly/obsessed with beauty and the UB's from trying so hard to save her Husband (Mohn). In USUM she's just insane. Not implied to be intoxicated, and even if she was what is her goal now? To achieve beauty with the UB's? Nope she wants to "save the world" or some shit. She doesn't make any sense here, and her motivation is non-existent USUM is bad yes i fully agree. I know Ttar probably won't read this or it'll be considered a "wrong opinion", or a "hateful comment", but i don't want people getting the story wrong. Especially not when it's written so well, but some people are just oblivious
So she wanted to go to Kanto to become an actual trainer? I get she wanted to become a trainer, but Kanto? And Yes, in USUM, its so weird, she's insane, and suddenly out of nowhere she wants to save the world? I do really think USUM were meant to be DLC.

Lusamine's motivation was to get her husband back, and the pressure and determination warped into something sinister, and ended up an obsession that she took out on Lillie and Gladion. We see it manifest in Lillie's clothing and her first lines. But yeah it makes no sense, and in SM base game it's great, with a strong and logical motivation where she's obsessed to the point of worship. To the first part it should be pretty obvious about the trainer part. Yeah she want's to become a champion and i don't think there's any point in discussing that considering how clear that is from her dialogue. Travelling elsewhere to acomplish it is part of it too since otherwise they'd have to develop her entire travel through the story again and what would come after.. WE don't need that nor is it the games attempt at telling us that story. We already got the story to adulthood. As previously mentioned the story has a lot of potential, but it tells the story it tried to do, and that has a lot of merit in itself. As for why kanto. Well why did we come from Kanto? Why did Kukui come from Kanto? Why are the Alola forms Kanto pokemon. Why does the champion from Galar have a Charizard (Most loved Gen 1 pokemon)? Why did Wicke come from Kanto and Johto? It goes on and on and the answer is: KANTOOOOOOOO Gen wunners and all that shit. Gen 1 is dearly loved by fans, and Nintendo will never let it go. They'll keep milking it forever, and i don't know why else they would have her go to Kanto. But yeah kanto references fill up EVERY game, and there's nothing exactly wrong with her going to Kanto, but the motivation for Bill is a cool reference, and makes good sense. The splitting thing makes sense and fits the narrative as for a quest to cure Lusamine. Hope it helps

I really love Z-Moves. I think they look so cool and it's nice to do the posses when they are happening. I also don't think they as op as a lot of people make them out. Yes, they are able to one shot pokemon, but being able to switch, use certian moves like protect or use defence raising moves are able to get past them. Just my opinion tho.
What I hate most about Sun and Moon is that it takes like a half an hour after you become the champion till you can walk again. Their are so many cutcenes and a forced Battle with Tapu Riki. It kind of felt like the ending of Lord of the Rings. First time I played through Sun the ending bored me so much that I didn't touch Pokemon till Let's Go came out.
The problem with Alola is in the premise itself: the island challenge. For all the time I feel like i'm at a luna park while I should feel adventerous. I don't feel accomplished in anything I do, every trial seems like a baby tv show. There's no atmosphere, everything is forced. And don't get me started with that annoying thing in the touchscreen of USUM... worst gen ever imo
I thought gen 7 were actually pretty hard even with exp. Share on. I guess when they made gen 6 they didn't know how to scale the levels properly with the new exp. Share. But in gen 7 it was done really well, I didn't overlevel. My Pokemon were around a level higher or lower than the totems in the 2nd half of the game. I also had a really hard time against Lusamine in sm, her clefable spammed cosmic power and I didn't have any good counters to it. But I came up with a strategy and it worked. I don't know why though but gen 8's exp share is just like the one in gen 6 it over leveled my Pokemon so much. I'm just on the first gym and I swept Milo with my lv. 21 corvisquire with no dynamaxing.

Ttar made a great point about how much having different sprites in each Gen made the Pokemon feel fresh. Seeing the same Pokemon in the same lifeless 3D pose really made the Pokemon boring. I can see more and more people realising this as more games come out using the same 3D models and poses.
Not a great point at all since amie exists, and some Pokemon for amie even halve altered poses for fliers like wingull, so that's 2 poses for god knows how many flying types and a shit load of animations for both amie and in battle combined.
Gen 7 Sucks because in the same year Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 came out with overworld monsters, open areas, the ability to ride, sore and dive with any monster. Monsters even sleep and attack each other in the overworld.
I think Z-moves feel not as good as Mega evolutions, because Z-moves are a one shot thing and megas are "permanent". With a mega, you have the feeling of having a 7th member in your party, that you can call on when you are in a bad spot, or just to display your power. Kinda like playing God. The Z-move on the other hand, is just one strong attack. We have strong attacks already. We have Hyper Beams, Draco Meteors and Explosions. Thats why they dont feel as impactful as that sweet sweet mega. Just my opinion tho. And I agree on (Ultra) Necrozma. That shit was dope.
Sun and Moon felt like it was the last cash out Nintendo wanted from us from the 3DS era. Possibly it was a good game that got cut and made easier to sell to babies with 2DS.
I disagree about the handholding. It never really bothered me too much, and it leaves the plethora of side areas and content for you to find late and by yourself I think the postgame was alright. RR was pretty good. The battle tree with previous characters was nice. The side content to explore was pretty cool, alongside the tapus, collecting z-moves. Now, z-moves. I think they were pretty cool, the animations were cool to see, for a few times. I didn’t use them too much because like you said they were too long. Ultra megalopolis was so cool with Ultra Necrozma but it really needed something more, nothing to do, just empty. Overall, I really liked Gen 7, even with the bad things. It is my favorite gen so far.
Sun and Moon had some of the best stories of any pokemon game, second only to black and white, but was defently lacking in the gameplay since. The Ultra games went and gave the alola region gameplay thats more on pare with other games, but complete butched the original story up. I've always felt that Gen 7 were great games and I had a ton of fun playing them. It's just their replayability kind of sucks since there was so much hand holding and the linear layout.

The thing that sucked, for me personally, is that they went from Mega Evolution, something beyond evolution, to Z Moves. I like all the new gimmicks they've made, but Mega Evolution had to be my favorite by far. Just seeing that taken away literally in the next mainstream game kinda hurt, that I couldn't see more pokemon have this ability.
But mega evolution was in sun and moon. I think you get get it in the post game or something.

The only disappointment from usum I can think of is taking away the scene of Lillie standing up against her mother from sun and moon... Other than that UsUm is pretty fun.
even then the original scene could be seen as rushed with Lusamine suddenly becoming good. In USUM you still get enough build up to know that Lillie and Lusamine will talk things through and get along even if offscreen. Overall USUM's story is a improvement over the original's.

But, they even incorporated that into the story better than Z moves! I liked that Megas weren't shoved down your throat as much. They were talked about as mysterious and you got to find them and learn about them if you wanted to. Z moves were more like "ah, you fought the glowy guy in these here woods. Have a crystal that one shots everything!"

Yeah it made sense as a concept but unlike game exclusive Pokémon, there's no way to trade the clothes or send them to the other game meaning they're literally just doing it to limit the player's selection. Can't lie tho the clothes were absolute fire and it made me love character customization alot more.

There isn't any blue clothes in Sun, just red, orange, yellow, black, white, and beige.
@@cjflamebolt You could order the other clothing options via other players who were wearing them in Festival Plaza & it really wasn't too difficult, although you had to rely on the players who show up in your Festival Plaza to be wearing said items.
Also, in Festival Plaza, a lot of items could be dyed with the Dye Shops. For the Dye Shops, there are 1, 2 & 3 Star Shops.
1 Star gave you the regular colors, 2 Star added pastel colors, & 3 Star added dark colors.
The likely worst part though was that each color variant was locked behind different Dye Shops/Stalls. Ex. Red 1 Star gives you Red Dye. Green 2 Star gives you Green Dye & Pastel Green Dye. Purple 3 Star gives you Purple Dye, Pastel Purple Dye & Dark Purple Dye.
HOWEVER! It was honestly really easy to level up in FP & every time you leveled up, you could talk to Sophocles in the Center Building & he would give you 4 options of new stalls.
Say whatever you want about Festival Plaza, but it was genuinely fun, had cool minigames & I liked the shops/being able for my custom character with my cool high-end dyed clothing to show up in other players worlds.

Damian Skyfire the rivals weren't really bad. And the cutscenes weren't all bad though. Atleast the tutorial stuff gets better as the on. They are linear though. They don't feel like Final Fantasy games to be honest.
The worst thing about Gen 7 for me was USUM not being a sequel. One of the main things that happens in SM is your trainer helps establish a Pokemon League. The entire region was filled with empty lots that could’ve become gyms. It honestly feels like that was their original plan but it became too hard for them to do that so they just gave up. If USUM was a sequel, we could’ve had gym battles which would’ve made the people who wanted gyms back happy, and it would’ve made USUM way more necessary as a game.

The thing about gyms is I like the short intervals of puzzle solving to break up the continuous stream if battles that is the main game. Totems could have been awesome but the puzzles absolutely sucked :/

I loved Z moves. Also the alola games specifically sun and moon have a story that is only surpassed by the unova games. The ultra games have a meh story , but are hella hard to make up for it.

I'm mad that we couldn't go to Kanto. They had the perfect opportunity to get on the boat with Lillie and that could have been our post game. It's the 20th aniversity so being able to see Kanto after 20 years makes sense. And I agree Hau was done dirty in the game and in the show as well

My biggest gripe with Gen 7 is that this is the generation where the franchise solidified as a hallway simulator.
Gen 7 was the start of the bad map design that continues to plague the series into gen 8.
They're really aren't all that many routes that are just straight lines in Gen 7 (excluding Ultra Megaopolis and similar Ultra Beast areas, which exist just to fight and catch them).
At least to me, there was enough complexity to keep things interesting throughout all the islands.

Those final comments will very likely be forever present in the Pokemon games, the rushed feeling. They keep pushing forward with the technical aspects of the game but within the same window of time. It's far harder to make a 3DS Pokemon game that it was to make a DS one.
My Opinion on Gen 7:
Dislikes: Story, Routes, Cutscenes, Tutorial/Handholding, Z-Moves and Post Game.
Likes: Music, Characters, Setting.
To elaborate on the dislikes, especially the story, it all was just so rushed and half-baked. They story had so much potential but just fell flat and it literally had NOTHING to do with US, you know, the main character! The routes other than like 2, were all linear and boring with just a few hidden areas off the beaten path. The cutscenes I disliked only because my character looked like a massive idiot and for most of them did basically nothing. The fact that there has been so many Pokemon games and GF still insists on putting long ass tutorials in their games ins MIND BOGGLING, and that handholding makes no sense to me since Alola is the second most linear region in all of Pokemon, so it's near impossible to get lost. How I feel about Z-Moves is basically exactly what you said Ttar and the post-game to me is SO important in Pokemon, so the fact that the post game can be beaten in around an hour, and all we have after that is the Pokedex and Battle Tree sucks!
Now, my likes. The music is simply AMAZING. It is one of my top 3 favourite Pokemon OSTs, I really appreciate the town music a lot, and so many of the battle themes are epic! I love the Elite 4, Trial Captain and Ultra Necrozma themes so much, and many more, they're just outstanding and invoke so many different emotions for me. The characters are good, and come close to being as good as the Gen 5 characters, but they don't simply because their arks and such are rushed. Lillie is obviously the star of the show, and is the best character in the game, but the resolution just wasn't good. I felt like she, and many other characters would've become the best characters in the entire franchise if the post game expanded on them more and wrapped up the arks sweetly. The region of Alola as well is amazing, although I dislike the route design, that doesn't mean that I don't think some of them look beautiful and so wondrous, I just wished I could've explored them more. The towns are some of my favourites towns in all of Pokemon, Po Town is a massive standout for me because of how unique it was, and the town themes are the cherry on top.
Overall, I don't think that SuMo are bad games, but just, mid games with great potential, which I feel is what all the modern Pokemon games are really in my opinion. If GF would just take a 3-5 year break to get back that motivation and creative vision they had back in the day, and just to have a break from this horrid yearly cycle, or even just completely STOP the yearly releases entirely, the games would be just as good, if not better than the games of old.
I'm a HUGE fan of Z-moves. They feel like an anime or RPG powered-up attack, with a whole-ass cutscene, and you wrecking the opponent's Pokemon. I'm even a fan of the dance you do when your Pokemon uses them, it feels like you and the Pokemon are working together to do a powered up attack (especially with the Pokemon-exclusive ones). They're also handled way better than megas were, with all the important trainers (and toward the end, even random trainers) having them.
Other than that, I pretty much agree with this video

for me it was the fact that we didn't fight mother beast herself, I thought that the gap in her team was gonna be her joining the battle herself. that way, you'd wear her down until Lillie calls upon nebby to deal the final blow, it would've been such a cool concept for fighting the team lead - fighting a human-pokemon hybrid? would've been so amazing and unheard of!
That damn Rotom Dex in USUM. It constantly gives useless tips, talks about nonsense, and the first time you become champion it keeps saying "congrats, you became champion."
I couldn't access my map because I was still new to the map until after Rainbow Rocket. While the rewards were useful, the gimmick as a whole was a massive flump imo. I kid you not, there's no way to turn off the tips as far as I know. And it keeps saying stuff like "hey, you have a mother", or just your average trainer tips. It wouldn't be so bad if it talking didn't prevent you from using the map. At least with the Pokédex, you could press X and select it. There's no Town Map in USUM, though. Just Rotom Dex
The cut scenes aren't a problem when playing the game for the first time but it really hurts the games ability to be replayed since the animations make you lose the will to play again
The worst part about about S&M is the replayability or lack there of. It's fine the first time but upon a second visit the game isn't that strong other than just a one off game.

In regards to Z-Rings...they're "eh". Looking back at them, they feel like a bootleg, budgeted Mega Evolution. Like when I played the games, they had that Mega vibe, but for a one time use, and we get ripped off with no visual difference. I mean, I feel like in a way, Z-Rings were further experiments of what they could do Mega Evolution or other Mega Evolution like mechanics. Like in terms of function and game mechanics, Z-Rings were a cut and copy of Megas, but with more cut than copy.
Altho, I did like them; despite the above text😅 They were unique. Like Mega Evolution came from Kalos, and then they put it over to ORAS. Z-Rings were specific to Alola. I feel like that adds to SM and USUM. A mechanic you only see and use in Alola.

Funny thing is, that happens with Gladion in USUM. He leaves for Kanto at the end, but after a certain amount of league rematches he comes back and you battle him.

Gen 7 is one of my favorite gens and til this day i still get angry at how they butchered Lusamine's character in USUM. I still find the overall story of SM to be better than USUM but the potential of USUM could've made it the best in the franchise.
Replacing the gyms with Totem was a great concept especially since each Totem felt more like a boss in comparison to gyms from gens 1-6 (Gen 8 did the gym system the best). Also while playing through the games it felt like the totems fit so well into the culture of Alola. The totems are highly respected and the challenge/trial fit in with the aesthetic and feel of Alola, unlike gyms that just feel like a random building that adds a tiny amount of importance to the city/town.
It is the best story in the franchise, and Lusamine isn't butchered, she was a moron in the original sun and moon, developing monomania for ultra beasts for no real reason, whereas in USUM, her crazed personality still exists, but she still has some sort of sense to protect her children and alola, where in the original she didn't care about any of that.

Doing the dexnav for oras and no other gen is a travesty! It was such a great solution without making things so easy. I hate having to go on line and look stuff up and this was that solution. They should have made that a mandatory new feature.

Wasn’t really a fan but of the Gen 7 Pokémon. There designs could have been a lot better with the exception of the Ultra Beast. As for the story it was decent but I wish they didn’t show Lillie running from the Aether Foundation in the beginning. It would have made Lusamine being crazy a better surprise.
One problem I notice no one else talks about is lack of continuity. I want linear story crossing from game to game. I want my actions from previous games to be felt in later games like in Elder Scrolls. I don't want them to come up with gimmicky shit then toss it aside for new stuff. I want continuity. The newer games don't feel like it's the same world as before. Does anyone actually know what the fuck they're doing now? Cause it seems they're pulling a Final Fantasy with the whole, each game is a completely new similar universe. They first established two timelines in Gen 6 and that was alright but they didn't build up on that and just threw out the Ultra wormholes and different realities bombshell out of nowhere. We didn't hear jack shit about any of that in SWSH. It's like they just threw all that away. It feels like they're not finishing their plotlines. And it just seems like a non put together puzzle. I know they want us to speculate and put a lot of this together ourselves but I'd like some sort of form of, "This is what's happening." I think at its core, this is my main problem with gen 7 and 8. This branches off into so many other problems that I won't get into but you get the point. Plus megas might not have worked well in gameplay, but all they had to do was rework them instead of trying to forget them with a new gimmick and then creating a mess that they then scrapped for a third gimmick that's even dumber than the second one. At least Dynamax/Gigantamax works well gameplay-wise though

Sinnoh is a hard region to surpass having the battle frontier, which dunks on or fulfills the role of all of BW2's introduced facilities. Contests also beat out musicals. The rest of it comes down to unique features which Black and white 2 doesn't have because they are succeeded by future features and one from the past being pyramid. pass powers replaced by rotom powers and O powers, join avenue replaced by festival plaza, dream world completely replaced by pelago. USUM however doesn't have this problem as mantine surf is a great unique mini game and a great new way to earn BP, Worm hole ride is also pretty fun, and alola's refresh system is added on from amie with new healing functionality, and the scout feature of tree allows it to have some uniqueness as a hardcore challenge facility, hardcore being equal levels with the opponent and no box art legendaries and myths, unlike black tower and white tree. There's also a few other features on the level of refresh, like Pokefinder and photo club. But yeah, just because of that frontier Sinnoh pretty much destroys Alola's battle tree, but Alola has good hands on mini games and Pokemon interactivity, pelago also wasn't too bad. Better than Sinnoh though is Johto+Kanto and HGSS's pokeathelon having different stats for every Pokemon, the best stylus mini games out there, but I can't stress mantine surf enough, the ability to earn bp with it and not having to use a stylus makes the mini game my personal favorite and always something to come back to. Pokeathelon objectively speaking has more mini games but little reward for them, but you could definitely go back to them for fun, also HGSS has the Pokemon follow feature which was improved with amie but it's still good enough to earn it even more points.
So HGSS is objectively the best game in the series without question when it comes to features, sinnoh 2nd because of the frontier, contests, and follow me feature, Gen 3's Hoenn is 3rd because of its unique battle frontier, contests and secret bases, gen 6's Hoenn is 4th because of improved secret bases and extended roster for contests, and lastly the battle maison allows for triple and rotation formats, Alola's USUM is 4th because of mantine surf along with a bunch of other returning and improved features from gen 5 and 6, and trainer scouting in its main hardcore battle facility, also worm hole ride.
My personal favorite is Alola though, it's just a great region to get you to express yourself as it has not only character customization but also battle styles, and it also has quite a lot of fun features, though many are minor in terms of rewards or player interactivity.
The story was fine. The indifferent models for me was also an issue. My major issues with Sun and Moon was the not existing means of leveling a Pokemon up to 100. All you could do is grinding on wild Pokemon which was max at 57 or so, maybe even less. The Chansey S.O.S Battles also not that great improvement in the Ultra games. Also the not connected Overworld was just terrible. Navigating to charizard for flying service all the time, while scrolling through maps didnt help it either. And i found EV Training particularly hard. It's easy, yes, but when you have a complex EV spread, that doesnt make 252 on 2 stats, it's very complicated, especially, when you are not good with numbers. And then there was the change they made to the DS pad, which was pretty much wearing it out fast. This Circle pad is a super fragile thing, that I never touched in XYORAS, but was forced to use in SMUSUM. Especially when breeding. I really don't like the idea of destroying the 3DS with the methods other people came up with, like going into that round pen and jolting that circle pad around to make Tauros spin in Circles to wait for an egg, yet many was doing that. That was my personal reason I cut my time consumption into these games. They was overall no fun to deal with, due to that gameplay changes.
Listen your take on Sun and Moon's story completely misses the point.
1. "Lillie going to Kanto is cheap and a bad (tragic) ending"
This should be obvious to anyone who played, and payed attention to the story and Lillie, but going to Kanto is the completion of her story arc.
The entire story is built up around Lillie, and her growth as she puts you high on a pedestal as the player.
She imitates your moves (telling Nebby to use attacks outside of lab), aspires to be a trainer and says it outright several times, adores you, and if you're a male player she tells you she wants to spend he time travelling with you and withholds her confession. She wants to grow up and step outside her bounds, and the moment she stands up to her mother is the moment where the world opens up to her. From there she grows, and the oppertunity to go to Kanto is the point of her arc. She grew up, she's taking her own journey just like yours so you can stand on equal foot and she can become like you.
Don't give me this "cheap" stuff when it's her fucking character thats written out to you.
2. "Boat, why not plane"
Geez i wonder if it's because it's a island region with a major theme being water and boats. Besides it just more aesthetically pleasin considering the amount of ports. When did you ever see a large focus on planes in this region? If you really want to be analytical we can go into how it may not be healthy flying a patient at a high altitude considering it fucks with your body.
3. "They didn't even made a ending they just threw her off at Kanto you suck at writing"
Partially covered this in 1, but yeah i don't think the story is perfect at all. The entire kanto and Lillie leaving bit is great and i love it even though it breaks my heart. Lillie leaving and growing on her own as her story built up around is great, and you can find the interviews that say from the developers "A lot of people were really sad we made Lillie leave. So we made her stay". They changed it in USUM because of fanservice. The story is lacking in a lot of places and Gladion who has great potential is horrifically underused.
4. Yes USUM is bad
Surprise surprise, remaking and changing a previous story just for cashgrab and half-assed ideas turns out to be horrible. They messed up the Ultra Wormholes, which were previously different dimensions, but are now distance based. Let me explain: SM: Dimensions with other beasts which ARE NOT pokemon, and there exists an alternate universe from ours which takes place in the Moon/Sun univserse with the 12 hour difference dependent on which copy you own. USUM: Distance and light years. Effectively this means that all the pokemon we meet through the holes are not UB's but just pokemon. The alternate world including both the 12 hour world difference, and the one with UB-Glutton? Yep perfectly idential worlds with same characters, events, and peope like us. Out there is another Lillie with same name events, mother, etc. from our world.
And like what you said concerning Lusamine. YES LUSAMINE IS INSANE. In SM from the confrontation with the UB's when her husband was taken, which is why she models her clothes that way and she is implied to be intoxicated slightly/obsessed with beauty and the UB's from trying so hard to save her Husband (Mohn).
In USUM she's just insane. Not implied to be intoxicated, and even if she was what is her goal now? To achieve beauty with the UB's? Nope she wants to "save the world" or some shit. She doesn't make any sense here, and her motivation is non-existent

@@thischanneldoesnotexist.2975 To the last part i'd say yeah it's weird. Lusamine's motivation is non-existent. Lusamine's motivation was to get her husband back, and the pressure and determination warped into something sinister, and ended up an obsession that she took out on Lillie and Gladion. We see it manifest in Lillie's clothing and her first lines. But yeah it makes no sense, and in SM base game it's great, with a strong and logical motivation where she's obsessed to the point of worship.
To the first part it should be pretty obvious about the trainer part. Yeah she want's to become a champion and i don't think there's any point in discussing that considering how clear that is from her dialogue.
Travelling elsewhere to acomplish it is part of it too since otherwise they'd have to develop her entire travel through the story again and what would come after.. WE don't need that nor is it the games attempt at telling us that story. We already got the story to adulthood.
As previously mentioned the story has a lot of potential, but it tells the story it tried to do, and that has a lot of merit in itself.
As for why kanto. Well why did we come from Kanto? Why did Kukui come from Kanto? Why are the Alola forms Kanto pokemon. Why does the champion from Galar have a Charizard (Most loved Gen 1 pokemon)? Why did Wicke come from Kanto and Johto?
It goes on and on and the answer is: KANTOOOOOOOO
Gen wunners and all that shit. Gen 1 is dearly loved by fans, and Nintendo will never let it go. They'll keep milking it forever, and i don't know why else they would have her go to Kanto. But yeah kanto references fill up EVERY game, and there's nothing exactly wrong with her going to Kanto, but the motivation for Bill is a cool reference, and makes good sense. The splitting thing makes sense and fits the narrative as for a quest to cure Lusamine.

I really love Z-Moves. I think they look so cool and it's nice to do the posses when they are happening. I also don't think they as op as a lot of people make them out. Yes, they are able to one shot pokemon, but being able to switch, use certian moves like protect or use defence raising moves are able to get past them. Just my opinion tho.

What I hate most about Sun and Moon is that it takes like a half an hour after you become the champion till you can walk again. Their are so many cutcenes and a forced Battle with Tapu Riki. It kind of felt like the ending of Lord of the Rings. First time I played through Sun the ending bored me so much that I didn't touch Pokemon till Let's Go came out.

The problem with Alola is in the premise itself: the island challenge. For all the time I feel like i'm at a luna park while I should feel adventerous. I don't feel accomplished in anything I do, every trial seems like a baby tv show. There's no atmosphere, everything is forced. And don't get me started with that annoying thing in the touchscreen of USUM... worst gen ever imo
I thought gen 7 were actually pretty hard even with exp. Share on. I guess when they made gen 6 they didn't know how to scale the levels properly with the new exp. Share. But in gen 7 it was done really well, I didn't overlevel. My Pokemon were around a level higher or lower than the totems in the 2nd half of the game. I also had a really hard time against Lusamine in sm, her clefable spammed cosmic power and I didn't have any good counters to it. But I came up with a strategy and it worked. I don't know why though but gen 8's exp share is just like the one in gen 6 it over leveled my Pokemon so much. I'm just on the first gym and I swept Milo with my lv. 21 corvisquire with no dynamaxing.
Yeah the grass trial gave me so much trouble and I had a Dartrix at that point. I had to use a dire hit because the Lurantis was just so bulky
@@kadensesay8056 I had a hard time with Olivia. Maybe cuz I had little counters to rock types. The e4 were also tough I had to restart a couple of times.
@@kadensesay8056 the water trial got me. I chose popplio and I literally needed to find a rowlet on wonder trade in order to beat it
Ttar made a great point about how much having different sprites in each Gen made the Pokemon feel fresh. Seeing the same Pokemon in the same lifeless 3D pose really made the Pokemon boring. I can see more and more people realising this as more games come out using the same 3D models and poses.
Not a great point at all since amie exists, and some Pokemon for amie even halve altered poses for fliers like wingull, so that's 2 poses for god knows how many flying types and a shit load of animations for both amie and in battle combined.
Gen 7 isn’t perfect but it the favorite and best in my eyes

Gen 7 Sucks because in the same year Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 came out with overworld monsters, open areas, the ability to ride, sore and dive with any monster.
Monsters even sleep and attack each other in the overworld.

I think Z-moves feel not as good as Mega evolutions, because Z-moves are a one shot thing and megas are "permanent". With a mega, you have the feeling of having a 7th member in your party, that you can call on when you are in a bad spot, or just to display your power. Kinda like playing God. The Z-move on the other hand, is just one strong attack. We have strong attacks already. We have Hyper Beams, Draco Meteors and Explosions. Thats why they dont feel as impactful as that sweet sweet mega. Just my opinion tho.
And I agree on (Ultra) Necrozma. That shit was dope.

Sun and Moon felt like it was the last cash out Nintendo wanted from us from the 3DS era. Possibly it was a good game that got cut and made easier to sell to babies with 2DS.
I disagree about the handholding. It never really bothered me too much, and it leaves the plethora of side areas and content for you to find late and by yourself
I think the postgame was alright. RR was pretty good. The battle tree with previous characters was nice. The side content to explore was pretty cool, alongside the tapus, collecting z-moves.
Now, z-moves. I think they were pretty cool, the animations were cool to see, for a few times. I didn’t use them too much because like you said they were too long.
Ultra megalopolis was so cool with Ultra Necrozma but it really needed something more, nothing to do, just empty.
Overall, I really liked Gen 7, even with the bad things. It is my favorite gen so far.
Designs, difficulty, post game, throwing away megas, cutscenes, lack of exploration

Sun and Moon had some of the best stories of any pokemon game, second only to black and white, but was defently lacking in the gameplay since.
The Ultra games went and gave the alola region gameplay thats more on pare with other games, but complete butched the original story up.
Basicly:
Sun Moon > Ultra story wise
Ultra > Sun Moon gameplay wise
