...I'm making a confession. I'm a toy designer (boys action) for a top 5 toy company and I watch your videos almost everyday, in particular, this one...over and over and over..haha. I feel the same way about 80s figure designs (also nostalgia for me) and it puts me in the mood to start my day and get excited about my next designs! thank you Crafts Man. you make my day everyday!

Oh Boy! The Fisher -Price Action Men were a favorite. I had the motorcycle guy, but with bending knees and his motorcycle had a sidecar. And the ranger had a jeep and a pontoon boat. The pilot had a yellow plane and the plane could snap onto the ranger's pontoon boat so it was a float plane. And the diver had tanks and flippers and a submarine. Boy, that's a flashback!
    Thanks!

OMG, I just love you. You made me laugh so hard with your interpretations of what each figure was going to do . I bet you are the coolest dad. And your grand finale making Earthworm Jims head pop off..brillant !!!! You are to adorable for words..Thank you again for pure entertainment. P.S. My husband has a garage full of this stuff, he goes into kid mode too.

Awesome! This is the best collection - everything scuffed up and well-used/loved, not hermetically sealed and soullessly organized on a display shelf. I think anyone who outgrows their toys is missing the point of life... Love your running commentary, as always. Peace.

Yay! I collect toys too - I think when you’re crafty/artsy you look at toys as being more than just a toy. The design the colors and the packaging it’s all so neat to look at and appreciate the design work

      @TheCrafsMan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

That's a good way to look at it. I do indeed appreciate the designs and things. The old packaging in particular, I really like it. It was maybe simpler and sometimes more bold, with basic colors. Something about it. :)

Hey Crafsman! Thanks for the blast from the past. At 4:47 you show the Fisher Price Adventure figure of the Astronaut. My brother still has him. He was one of our favourite figures and has the wear and tear to show it. Yours is in much better condition. We named him "Spacey" and he hung out with Butch from G.I. Joe for years. Now he has retired to the safety of being bundled away with my brother's classic Star Wars figures. I think he should go on an adventure with the Free Range Chicken since they both have orange space suits. I love the Free Range Chicken. Thanks for all of the educational and inspiring videos. You keep crafting and I'll keep watching. Have a good wkd!

I am fascinated by this one and others that show your love for toys. Your kids are so fortunate to have a father so funny and young at heart. I was born in ‘81 so i am guessing you’re around my parents age. You are so playful and still thoroughly enjoy pretending and appreciating the toys your kids played with! You remind me to stay young at heart and keep playing. Your videos really cheer me up and make me smile A LOT. Thanks so much for just being you and sharing your life with us.

Thank you for this wonderful reminder from my childhood! I always enjoyed sneaking into my older brothers' toy chest for Snaggletooth (Star Wars), the Action People van & dune buggy (great for my Fisher Price people to ride in), and all of the He-Man figures. I remember using Castle Greyskull as Skeletor's "house"; he would invite Evil Lyn over for date night and serve her "soup" from the cauldron! :D
We also has the very small (about an inch or so) metal Star Wars figures plus the playsets. We wore the paint off some of them, we played with them so much! And there were certain Muscle Men that we always fought over. ;)
Thank you again for sharing. Looking forward to whatever your next video brings!

I loved Mask toys too and had tons of M.u.s.c.l.e.s. what a great trip down memory lane. I sure wish i wouldve held on to all those toys... Thanks Crafsman... you da bestest!

I love the funny thing is you said regarding each action figure especially about the old man that cannot be surprised by anything in the metal menz that are hard to break! Just stumbling upon this...I had all but those metal dudes you showed near the end, still got most of em in a kodak bag. That last action figure before Earthworm Jimmy was the generic GI Joes, so you could use GI JOe back packs and all the other Joe stuff, but they couldn't swivel as much. We called them the Kmart Joes. Air Raiders and MUSCLES were the bomb, you could have a great Royal Rumble with the Muscles; my best friend and I made scaffolds around the room, winning Muscle got a rubber band belt. Too bad you didn't have any MASKS, you'd like those!

i collected gi joe when i was a kid and still had a bunch when i was an adult. ended up getting back into collecting, buying and selling. made quite a bit of money doing that back about 10 years ago. just recently started to get some interest back in them. mostly just to make some money buying and selling. prices have doubled since i was doing it before. also like star wars and transformers

You've got some really cool stuff. Some of those toys I've not thought about in years. Here in the south it's harder to find that stuff at flea markets and yard sales.

I loved this video. I had a few of those figures featured here, and i had forgotten about some of them. Someday I hope to be able to craft my own! I’m going to start using your videos to learn soon. Should be awesome!

Man, I just love to watch you play with those figures. Maybe you could do Craftsman theater. :)

    GREAT video
Edit: I definitely had the guy at 2:05, and yeah, G.I. Joes were definitely my favorite action figure to have growing up. All their equipment, uniforms, vehicles and stuff was just so cool/modern (not to mention the figures were easy to pose in cool ways).
Ninja Turtles and Batman were also big ones for me as a kid, though that was just sort of the pop culture of the time. The first motion picture Batman (Michael Keaton) had just come out along with the first Turtles motion picture, so we were eating that up as kids.

My older brothers had the Daredevil Sport Van and the Dune Buster. Also the parachute guy was a favorite. I had totally forgotten about these sets!
I used to steal their big GI Joe's, the old ones that were like a foot tall, because I didn't have a Ken doll. I was always upset that all the baby dolls were girls too! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Quite a vintage heaven you have over there! 😁 Sentimental value is priceless! Not all of these were popular when I was a kid in Croatia but I recognized some because I liked playing more with my brother's toys than hanging out with Ms Barbie 😇

Thanks, Crafsman. I guess you're... more chronologically mature that I thought you were if you had children back in the 1980's. I guess that explains your wonderful patience and mellow character.

Haha! Nice, bro. I knew we had more than just a soothing tone and general swiss-army-knife disposition. I collect antique electronics and toys, too. Specifically action figures. Bravo. Air Raiders! lmbo

Those G.I. Joe's, foot tall G.I. Joe's, and foot tall X-Men were some of my favorites! Excellent video. If you are into much more cool, different stuff I'm gonna nominate you to be the next Dos Equis guy.
