This is exactly how main channel / second channel content should be done - the behind the scenes / 'detail' stuff on the second channel and the 'overview' stuff on the main channel. I love the introduction of the model too! Makes understanding the whole process so much easier and gives the second channel content way more context!

Well that’s why Colin is super successful on TH-cam. He knows exactly how to create content and now with two channels, he’s continuing with what he always did here and is giving us completely different content on the second channel, which is why it’s growing so quickly. A lot of other creators just regurgitate their content, rather than actually have two completely different channels

Super interesting video Colin, the explanations and visuals were fantastic. I went to an MOD bunker in north London, hidden under a post office. It's disused as the membrane and concrete cracked, the water table floods the complex. All pipework, cables, ventilation and generators are rusted beyond repair from the damp. Be careful if you install the window in the car storage.

Colin, as a commercial builder, they make stone sealer that can be used on rocks, bricks, concrete, etc., for aesthetic effect (clear) as well as a solid moisture barrier. If you make your window room tight enough to hold back concrete then you should be able to seal that whole area off with stone sealer to nearly eliminate moisture… if you include ventilation from your garage.

You could use a transparent exopy coating on the ground to keep the moisture out and keep it protected while also keeping it looking good. Considering the flexural stresses on the concrete with cars parking on it building it like a parking garage doesn't seem like the worst idea. I am so glad that you had a geotechnical engineer come out to the site and take a look at what you're doing here. They provide seriously valuable information when constructing anything. I worked as a engineering technician for 10 years so this project is my favorite you've done so far because I spent so much time checking soil strength and inspecting foundation pours everything here is super familiar for me. You've done a fantastic job explaining everything by the way I'm sure loads of people are getting exposed to stuff they may never have otherwise and maybe you've even created a few geotechnical engineers with this project. Without doubt Colin takes the British “Man in a Shed” mad inventor/scientist/man with vision, to the extreme. He and his friends, make the inventors of old, think Brunel, Whitworth, et al look like complete amateurs.
Colin, your son must have the largest friends group ever, but that’s what comes with having the coolest, most out of his gourd, father on the planet. Obviously this doesn’t do justice for the support of (not the rebar/concrete) a significant other that never seems to show up but one can’t believe that all this work is carried out without the help and amazing support of an incredibly patient Mrs Furze. No doubt you’ve been asked many times, but what is her opinion about the whole thing?
Any chance your planning on moving anytime soon and if so what would be your ultimate project include?
Underground garage with car turntable - check.
Underground workshop and cool hangout man/boy cave for dad and son - check.
Silo for lunar lander - construction under consideration (construction started elsewhere?) more than likely.
Underground base for VSTOL aircraft/flying submarine - check (just keep it quiet from the government or they’ll spoil its grand opening day)
I can’t help but suspect that Colin & Co have carried out a huge project that would be far beyond our government to manage on time, on budget, and with the smallest workforce ever! You’re an absolute legend and it’s a shame that no one else has the imagination or cahones to dream of such a colossal project. Let’s be honest here, it’s a huge undertaking for a full on bunch of builders, structural engineers, etc yet most of the work is very hard work, carried out without billions of pounds of taxpayers money.
On the question of cost, do you dare keep a very detailed costing for the entire project or is that something between your wife, and sponsors?

I'd be worried about the roots causing cracks and subsidence from them, they can and will break structural integrity, you see trees and plants growing into hard rock and concrete all the time

This is such a mad project, and you're a mad man for taking it on, but I fully appreciate the fact you did, I absolutely love your videos. I also love the fact that (as mentioned in an earlier video), you can't value this as a 3 bed semi with a bunker any more...it's a bunker with a house attached! That model just proved the enormity of what you've built, especially when you take into account the rest of the tunnels and the original bunker. Awesome, just awesome.

The editing is unreal. The model is exceptional. The detail Colin. The detail. Remarkable. So much work in this one video plus the other channel! Well done mate.

Love the model, good job! I can't wait for more specifics about the lifting and rotating mechanism.

    That model is absolutely awesome!
Yeah, might be retro, but it's:
    -correctly scaled
-very, very easy to understand / helping to understand what you're explaining
    -looking awesome
So thank you for the effort of making and showing us that cute thing, aside from the WHOLE PROJECT that's ALSO AWESOME!

Colin’s excellent explanation of the damp proof membrane shows why a bunker like this is so hard in clay areas. They have bedrock but it’s do deep you’ll never reach it. Without help, the pit you dig will literally become a pond. Yo have to use a French drain around the structure with a drainage sump and pump.

Can we all just recognize how entertaining and well done that sponsor ad was?

    Question for the Q&A :)
Will you be covering up the hole where the Delorian will be coming out of? Like will it be two fake grass panels that open like an elevator door and then that’s where the delorian comes out of?

I think a solid roof. A car parked on top normally, eg "project car" wrapped in a cocoon, which lifts up when the real car comes up. When Colin is running from the police ( admit it, it's going to happen ) he can drive in, lower the lift and by the time the cops get there, it is a junker that hasn't moved for years in the only obvious place.

@@alanhilder1883 Now that is a good idea. I am questioning whether the walls of that shaft would support the weight of a car as well as the lift, but with enough steel anything is possible.

Thunderbirds island pool would be so cool fake pool so no safety fence is needed

I was wondering what the main channel video was going to be like since everything was already covered in the other videos. The model was a brilliant idea ! Such a great way to show everything you've done, the editing and presentation are incredible

About the rock wall, great idea! Could you spray some sort of clear water sealant on the portion of rock exposed? I can also see great lighting opportunities there inside the window allowing the rocks to cast shadows.
Bloody amazing work you do mate!
    Mad respect! 🫡

This is the sort of project you dream about as a kid, and you're really doing it! Kudo's to you! It'll probably become a tourist destination, when you are done.
