Why do I feel like I’m watching the TARDIS traveling through time and space in “Dr. Who” while the train is in the tunnel? But I definitely recognize the tracks going over the Beltway at the 270 spur-I’ve driven under them a million times in my younger days!
I haven't been to DC since 2005, but I DO remember riding this portion of the Red Line to/from Shady Grove (which is part of Gaithersburg) in 2003: I love the exit to/from the tunnel where the Capitol Beltway (I495) and I270/ I70 meet up, and then it's in and out of short tunnels enroute.
