22, single guy who is thinking about adopting a child. I have been thinking about adopting a child when I was 18 and now that I’ve got savings behind me and I have a great family support system I’m looking into it now. I think every child deserves a loving home, any ideas on how I could move forward ? Also thanks for sharing this video very helpful

My advice is be honest with the child they will problem be less than a quarter of your age but will have seen more things than you can imagine some of it they won't understand
I'm adopted from Thailand by Canadian parents and raised in Canada (I'm 30 now). I'm thankful to have been raised in Canada as culturally, I no longer see myself as Thai and don't see myself living there (wouldn't survival for various reasons) but my adopted dad seems to have anger issues that he hid from everyone and caused me childhood trauma and after living in the same house as him from 1995-2016, the damage has been done but I kind of see that as a good thing because if I adopt, I can relate better to the child's trauma (possibly). Although I'm still debating if I myself am fit to be a father as the last thing I want is to pass my trauma onto my child, especially if they are adopted. :( Seek help for your issues so your children don't have to is what I say. I hope the therapy I am going through helps me in the future (though it's more for autism issues at the moment.) One thing is for sure though, I'm not even going to think seriously about being a dad, birth or adoption, until I have a wife or common law partner and they think I'm ready (and they want to be a mother). Just because you are a dad, doesn't mean you should be in some cases.
FOCUS YG They mean for the future. Im 18 and had my eyes set on adoption since I was around 10. Still hasn’t changed. I think its great for them to think like this.
Please can i ask a few questions? 1-Do you have to pay to adopt a child in the Uk? 2-will the child have to have his/ her own room or can the share with other children? 3- does it matter what religion the parents are?
1) Payments are generally just for your documents, health checks, DBS checks, etc., not for the child. 2) Unless a sibling group, they almost always need their own room. 3) Religion won't stop someone adopting, but it may change which children you are considered suitable for, as good adoption agencies typically want adoptive parents who will raise the child with the child's birth culture and religion, rather than swapping (unless the child chooses to change religion when older).
I am planning to adopt when I turn 21 years old because I want to give child or baby a lovely home and i got so much love to give. I can't wait to adopt Only 2 years to wait until I am 21 years old. 🙏
I am a single guy and really want to adopt, it still feels like a maze trying to nagivate through the process. I was focused at creating a life that I can have the time needed to care for the child and thinking of starting the process soon.
I am bisexual, so i have no clue whether or not i may want to adopt or naturally raise a child (although i feel more romantic and relationship-oriented was towards men than women, as a man) but i would love to adopt.
i just turned in to 22 y.o and still in college. I have no interested in marriage i think someday my mind will change but i have planned to adopt children since my young age.

Just wondering why in all the videos I see on TH-cam they gloss over the medical check of the potential parent. Surely that is the first stage and quite important. Yet I haven't seen any videos that explain what exactly they check and are looking for and what things they are unlikely to pass you for. 🤔
I’m 17 rn but I like planning ahead makes me feel less stressed about the future. When I’m 27 or older I’m hoping I’ll be a zoo keeper as for a love life 🤷♂️ dunno if I can even want one yet. I know a woman in her 30s who is married and bought a home within a few years, and shortly after that they adopted a little boy, and i think within a year theyd adopted their 2nd boy. You genuinely should try it if its something youd be willing to do. The worst that can happen is they say no and your life continues as it is. It cant be a bad thing
