That part where Ark man tells David he can just have it is crazy. I never caught the links to Adam and Eve there. Ark tells him to just take the land, to see and take whatever is good in his own eyes, and he even elaborates describing how he has everything David needs and can have it for free. Ark was the snake in this passage, he was tempting David to continue to follow his own desires over Gods commands. Same language and test Adam and Eve were faced with in the garden. If David had accepted Arks offer then David would have failed, sacrificing nothing to God, and protecting his own life yet again (which would have been a Cain move as well). This was another garden test for David and he finally passed, its just so overshadowed by all his failure. But obviously further points to Jesus, the new Adam, Abraham, Moses and David, the one who can suffer and face the test, who sacrifices his desire for self, and chooses to maintain his integrity and confidence in who God is, so he can intercede for the many. Only thing im not getting is why was the mans name Ark, i dont see how that fits into the garden test very well. Ill keep meditating on it. The man is symbolizing the place where Gods spirit hovers, however he is also the symbol of the tempter or testing spirit. Is the Ark ever compared to a tester? I feel like if the mans name was snake/scorpion that would have been more in line with the rest of the links, thats probably a bit too on the nose lol
I wish you had spent more time, in that story, about God’s role in this. I don’t understand why David “gets in trouble” if it is God who uses him. 2 Sam 24:1…God caused/incited David to act. Why later is David the one in trouble? I’ve never understood this and I wish you had explained it.
Awesome I am first! May Yahweh bless you guys for your great wisdom and understanding.
Deep stuff, my gents.
