He had to learn how to shepherd.. a trustworthy leadership..not a leader in an army, not a leader in his own ideas, but a leader who is obedient to the ruler. He (God) expected that of one man.

You guys seem to have left out that he did know his birth family. His sister watched the princess draw Moses out of the water and got his own mother to nurse him. He surely was told of his true heritage in secret.

There was also a snake on the mountain top where Moses first encounters God.
