Brutal attrition works a lot better if you can use it on a unit that did a multicharge, since it does not specify how many units it applies to per phase, only how many rolls you get per unit attacking you. This might get changed in the FAQ though, since it's somewhat dependant on the wording being a bit loose. Using something like a raptor squad + jump lord to play around it, actively trying to charge multiple screening units of weaker infantry (which we might see more of considering the new missions) would in my opinion make it one of the best stratagems in the detachment.
Fantastic video, my friend! This is exactly what I want to hear about. I'm a really big fan of the Iron Warriors and I've been working on the army for a few years now. I was never all that excited about the CSM index, soI I figured I would wait to see what we've gotten for Tenth. I love the sound of these detachment rules. They honor the lore very well, I think, depicting the way the Iron Warriors actually fight. I'm excited to try my first list, it's just hard to decide what to use first! Thanks very much for this video!
Few good points made in this video. Ive used the detachment once so far. And ill be having two games at 2k points this weekend. Biggest strength is definitely the unkillable terminator block. Weakness is that the strategems are pretty much all reactive (even the reroll hits and wounds is actually reactive) I think mandatory for a siege host list is a bastion plate lord leading terminators and a terminator sorcerer leading terminators with warp tracer. Build the army out from there really. Unfortunately for me i dont have the second terminator unit so ill be running just the 10 with the bastion lord. For now lol
I've been thinking about Iron Artifice with a Sorcerer in Terminator Armor. A D6 attacks with 24" range Anti Vehicle +4 and Devastating Wounds could add up in a game. Plus some extra with the combi-weapon. It should be about 5 mortal wounds vs a vehicle per shooting phase.
2 10 man Terms with chaos lords, 3 units of Havocs with Warpsmiths, 2 vindicators and 10 cultist for objectives. I will try it out but the Demon Engines detachment also looks good for a heavy vehicle iron warriors list.
Hello, im new to the game, and ive decided i'd like to do this specific faction. What kind of units would you use if you wanted to go heavy into this play style infantry and bigger units? Im geussing a good terminator squad would be necessary.
I take it you are referring to the Iron Warriors specifically? Definitely Terminators and a Chaos Lord in Terminator armor. Thematically, I think any of the classic Legion Space Marines stuff is good, plus infantry like Legionaries and Chosen. The Iron Warriors are siege specialists, so the Vindicator is very on brand. I run two of them, and I have one Predator and a Land Raider. Plus the first Obliterator was an Iron Warrior, so I would definitely think about Obliterators. Some people see Daemon Engines and very IW. However, some IW resist the pull of Chaos somewhat and choose to just fight more like Space Marines out of a sense of martial honor. It depends on what you want to do. Warhammer has always had a little bit of an RPG element, so you can make choices based on what you think your General would do.
"Anti vehicle enhancement is bad", "Will only maybe work on master of executions" What? Chaos Lord with Daemon Hammer, how is that not the obvious choice? Especially with his once per battle +1 to attacks, strength, ap, and damage.
I completely forgot the Lord has the Daemon Hammer! Yeah that is actually a fairly solid choice for him, points dependant of course! I'd say between this and Ironbound Enmity they're the weaker of the 2 relics overall, but I guess it's case dependant if you want an enhancement on a your lord this could be a decent 3rd pick, whereas if you were wanting to boost your DP/Disco Lord you could opt for Ironbound Enmity! Thanks for pointing that out though!
I think Fellhammer may not have as much of the winning-power that some of the other detachments do, but man, is it some of the most badass. Those strategems are gonna be so based when you can pull them off. If you do lose, you're gonna lose like a complete baller!
Painting black legion terminators with 4 bolters max fists 1 chain fist and 1 with double ligthbibg claw. 2 questions. Can I run a fellhammer army but with paint black legion and 2. Does the terminator load out work out well? Thanks love the channel
The most interesting would be Alpha. Pact is a failure for 1. enhancements are weak and you need to roll another leadership. I would get it, if they all had an initial, and a stronger section for moral success. Also, no Dark Apostle item or even a strat and No strat for daemonkin is bad.
Which of the Detachments in the new Chaos Codex are you most looking forward to trying out?!
Fell hammer and vashtor. Those complement/compete with each other. As an Iron Warriors players, I love both

Thanks for the vid, I'm trying them out tomorrow
Hope they performed well!!
Played a game against guard and the minus 1 to wound saved me a lot

Felhammer just seems so amazing. I really want an Iron Warriors army as well.... WE are my #1 but oh man. Iron within, Iron without!
My two Chaos armies are Iron Warriors and World Eaters 👍
IRON WITHIN IRON WITHIN
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD

you can paint what ever color you like 😊

-2 to charge makes deepstrike melee units have to make 11 inch charge….gross
