Well that's my list...for like now.
I know, I actually missed out on some solos. I didnt include Sinergy just because I still got some other ideas for those solos. I'm preparing for that and I think this is going to be fun. So yes, Sinergy is coming. But not now.
And I know, AYDY maybe shouldnt be on this list, but you know what?
AYDY is one of their most popular songs and tbh its one of the solos you gotta start with on guitar cuz its not that hard.
Tie my rope? Just the interlude? well yes. Tbh thats a part that always ducked me up over the years, how absolutely amazing this is. Truely deserves a spot. Why not the solo? Well because I wouldnt pick the one you like. There are actually two recordings of tie my rope, and I like the "not album" version, but not enough to actually go onto this list.
Hatecrew Death Roll shouldve been on this list, I get it, but over the years, i never got the urge to "you have to abosolutely learn this". BUT thats true for each and every one on this list.
So here it is. And if you're wondering, the hardest is bodom beach terror if you ask me. Thats absolutely insane. I tapped one part cuz I have absolutely no idea how alexi could actually consistently alternate pick that...I mean thats sixteenth triplets at 145bpm. Alternate picked. Two notes per string. At that clarity. Thats absolutely nuts. If I getting to that speed for that, i let you know and revisit that part. Sometimes you gotta do work arounds if you get stuck.
And thats absolutely fine.

Well. I could absolutely do the vocals 😂 check my other videos of you like...but...this will never happen. I mean alexi was COB, was BAM...like there would be a lot of hate from people if they choose to do this. I guess at least. I don't know. I wouldn't even know if i would accept. Tough talks about something that will probably never happen. In the end I'm actually just a nobody on the internet.

You were my hero when I was a teenager... I haven't heard heavy metal a long time ago but I heard that Alexi passed away a few years ago and I couldn't believe it....

Dude it took me until the second solo to realize it wasn't actually Alexi himself sitting there and playing. Like I legit thought ''So this guy is showing Alexi doing the solo first and then himself?? I was so confused x) But these solo's were amazing maybe the best I've ever seen someone cover them!
Amazing tribute!❤️. He will be missed 😢. Unfortunately I found out over a year late, had no clue. A life cut short, unfortunately we won't be able to see what he really could've achieved, collabs or the new project. Definitely his legacy will live on, he had an amazing gift. This is the best tribute I've found, you're an amazing artist! 👏

I was at work, and I got messages from a couple people suddenly...and they said, yo alexi died, and I was like noooooooooooooooooo.
Was a shitty day. But so many people reached out, even people i forgot about. Still. Shitty day.

Absolutely devastating loss for the music scene.
Like i get it, there were far more superior musicians in terms of "crazyness" eg Jason Richardson BUT alexi was able to make really good songs, harmonies, structures, technicality etc. It was just perfect that mix of a really good song in general and his playing style and techniques.
Truly a big loss. Still hurts and I guess it will always do.

My first COB song I heard was "If you want peace prepare for war" and I was hooked on their stuff ever since that. Lots of good shredding and heavy riffing this band was a gold mine for just good heavy stuff that you can put on any album of.

Dude I fully agree with your description, all of these solos give me the feeling "I need to learn it". Awesome playing, nice tone and two beautiful guitars. Great job dude! Hopefully I'll be able to learn most of these solos this year. I just started to play guitar consistently. I've had a guitar for like 4 years but I have always been super on/off with it. Basically playing for 2 days to a week and then not even touching it for months. I just decided to pick it back up a few weeks ago after not playing for almost 8 months or something like that. Feeling really inspired to learn all the bodom stuff right now. Have a good day man!

I don't think there is really a way to choose "the best" solo, however there is one that still stands out to me to this day, I don't know what he was feeling in the studio that day, but you know it was something heavy, when recording the solo for All for Nothing. Truly beautiful.

@@DaniTheDead definitely! I never reaaaally understood the hate it got.
But i only can guess. The mix is way off standard metal recordings (but i absolutely love the mix on that album, killer job!) and the overall song structures and writings are a bit chaotic, but in a good way. Nothing except not my funeral got that "catchy" riff/melody from the start. You gotta listen to it over and over again to appreciate what they came up with.
In more casual terms: it's too complicated to "just listen and relax", you gotta listen to it carefully.
But that's just my observation i did over the years. Most people can't even articulate why they dislike certain things.
They just do.

Also, I remember when Chester passed away, the way he died and all, it hit me hard, but I have never in all my life hurt so bad as when Alexi passed… even to this day every now and then I just cry nonstop while listening to CoB.. he was my favorite musician after all…

That's a great tribute to Alexi from you. Excellent job! I moved to Spain last NOV, but visited Finland (my mom's homeland) for Christmas. Couldn't help it, I made "a pilgrimage" to Alexi's grave(took some flowers with me and left them there) and also to his residence in Vuosaari, where, unfortunately, he passed away. This had a very emotional effect on me, esp visiting his grave. Anyways, If you had to choose to play one COB solo in public, what would it be? I know I'm asking a lot, but this really interests me. Awesome combo of Alexi's "immortal" solos and you covered them excellently. Happy new year to you! ✨ Keep up the good work & videos, I always watch them, most often several times a video. Hm. That's tough and depends i guess. I mean kissing the shadows is a killer guitar solo but you can mess up alot along the way.
So I actually got to go with the not my funeral solo. It's soooo well written and not that tough to play live. So yeah. I guess it would be not my funeral.

First I was confused why 10 solos takes so long (7 minutes 39s sounds more like 15 solos) but then I realised you're crazy enough to learn Kissing The Shadows, probably the hardest solo among CoB songs? The sweep picking on that one is hella difficult IMO. Among my favorite solos you included one (Bodom Beach Terror), but I also love Are You Dead Yet (for good and unique sound) and the Touch Like Angel Of Death live Japan version (Tokyo Warhearts).
The song Children of Bodom has a kickass solo.
